Came across a meal that fits perfectly with The Plant Paradox Lectin Avoidance Diet (Correct diet for all humans)...I had a delicious grilled Iraqi masgouf fish with basmati rice with a little saffron sprinkled in, lentil soup and the freshest pita bread I've ever had.I always needed to make my all my own food with non harmful ingredients but I can go out for a meal here no problem.Great staff, art work and clean dinning room.Eat for perfect all around health, not hype .

It's my first time here. We were discouraged from going in as we didn't see anyone dining. But I think they do a lot of carry out. We were parked, but we went in to try it and we were not disappointed with the dishes. Here's my review of the dishes:I loved the lentil soup, and we got warm bread to go with it; the bread was delicious. The falafel appetizers were yummy. The chicken kebab was great. I took half home because it was a lot for me.My hubby had the shawarma sandwich, but I don't have a photo because he ate it right away. He said something about the onions that made it taste so good with that bread. We also bought more bread to bring home. We will go back soon. Our waitress was very polite. The only thing I didn't like was the Tabbouleh salad. It was too soggy with the vinegar they add, I think. I like it more dry. I will add a few photos of the food items.

The masgouf (grilled carp -- one of Iraq's national dishes) is very good here. We had it with rice, salad, lentil soup and lavash bread, and some hot tea. The ambiance is maybe not for a date night, but it's clean and there are decorations that show Iraq's grand history (pictures of street scenes and Babylonian centaurs). The staff is friendly and hospitable. We enjoyed our experience.

I found a small Mediteranean restaurant on Main Street just west of Skokie Blvd in Skokie. It's a small Ma & Pa restaurant that I would have never known it existed if it wasn't for Yelp. I was in my way to Old Orchard and I had me a hankerin fer Sum Mediteranean foodLunch Special for $7.95 that came w/Beef Kifta Sausage, Chicken Shawarma, Falafel & Salad w/tomato's, cucumber & iceberg lettuce, rice & pita bread. I had very mixed feelings about this food. The rice was super bland, the salad while very fresh was plain iceberg lettuce, tomatoes & cucumber, no dressing. The falafel was a tad bland but was tastier once Nicole the waitress brought an orange sauce that had a little tang & a little sweetness. The beef kifta and chicken shawarma were tasty. Lentil Soup - $2.99 that was delicious. They have a fried fish that I would like to go back a try if I'm in the neighborhood again.

This is a great spot for Iraqi food in the north suburbs. It's very similar to the middle eastern food we're all familiar with but it has differences that were a delightful surprise. For instance, their felafel is the best I've ever had. It was so light with a crispy coating and tender creamy inside, it was delicious. We also tried the lamb kefta skewers that came with a small salad. The lamb was fresh, well seasoned and flavorful. We also tried the beef shawarma sandwich and the babagannoush. Everything was delicious and the homemade bread... It is a bakery afterall. Everything was wonderful, we can't wait to go back. The service was also excellent and we even learned a few Iraqi words from our server!

Came highly recommended by a friend so we decided to try it out. If you are a fan of grill fish, mainly Pampano, then this is the place for you. Very fresh fish and large size is good for two and very reasonably priced too! Takes about 20 mins, as it is made to order. So highly recommend to order over phone before hand. Grilled to perfection and the skin is crisp were as the flesh is nice and moist.Kefta kabab are no great, infact medium rare. Fellafel are different, not like regular what you find at other places. I guess that's how Iraqis make it. Chicken was bland to taste.Rice was fantastic, almost like angle hair.Pita or bread was excellent.Bakhlava they have are the cream ones, which melt in mouth.Overall a pleasant experience, will go for the fish again!!

What a lovely place! The owner is a very sweet man. The star of the show here is the Masgouf (Iraqi Grilled Fish), a unique offering. It is absolutely delicious, grilled to perfection. Always tasted really fresh. Whenever I came here, there is always a couple of other orders waiting for the same dish. The supporting players (pita bread and hummus) do not disappoint. Their baba ganoush is one of the best I have had. The delicious smokiness of eggplant is a nice compliment to whatever meat dish you will chose. I mostly do take-outs at this place, but it has a good (cute) ambiance for a sit-down meal.By the way, they are closed on Mondays and are open all other days, including Wednesdays.

Despite the nondescript name, this is an Iraqi restaurant and flatbread bakery, and a very good one too. All the usual Middle East culinary suspects, made from scratch, plus fresh water fish dishes just like nana used to make on the banks of the Euphrates. BYOB. Friendly efficient service. Located in a small nondescript commercial strip that is easy to miss in a residential area.

Good food. I would say that the falafel were so different than what I had previously at other places. Very crispy outside with soft inside.
