Three words. Chile. Relleno. Croissant. But truly, this place is a gem. Been going here for 5 years, my favorite bakery in Chicago. Unique fusion of French pastry technique with the Mexican flavors the two sisters proudly bring to the table. They sell out quickly on the weekends, and the prices feel slightly higher than they used to, but it's completely worth it. I've never met a bakery quite like this one. Everything with a twist. Good savory and sweet options and seasonal favorites. Overall good vibes. Sometimes they set up a Oaxacan food station in the dining area where an abuelita expertly flips homemade tortillas and serves up glasses of tepache.

So good! They do an amazing job with their parties and sandwiches. Their hours are limited so plan accordingly. If you arrive after 10am the selection will be limited as more than half the pastries will have sold out... it's that good! Seating indoors and outdoors.

The OrchatA coffee is delicious. However I ordered a big order and I forgot to substitute for one coffee regular milk for almond milk. When I tried to exchange it the girl said it was NOT possible to exchange it. That I had to pay for another coffee when I did she didn't have subscription for the horchata flavor because they are premade I'm including a photo of those three flavors that are already premade The lattes are NOTgood they're disgusting for the same prices as Starbucks The environment is very loud such a bad experience.

I've never once been able to make it here earlier enough to get a look at all their pastry options , they sell out super quickly ! You should definitely get here when they open, it's worth it. But if you don't make it before their pastries sell out they always have amazing sandwiches to try on their fresh baked bread .Their steak and egg sandwich is perfection but their bread is what makes it. I hope to be back in the near future to make it on time to try the rest of their baked goods!

Sandwiches had the best bread, fluffy yet crusty and soft, perfect with the eggI would get the chorizo and egg over the turkey pastrami next time though as it was fantastically spicy and flavorful in comparisonCinnamon roll was so warm, fluffy and had the best cream cheese frosting and cinnamon filling. The pastry case was empty when we went around 1030 and waited in line so this was a great surprise that they had last minuteNote to self to go early if I want to get any pastries, but if you go later you can still get sandwiches!

Pan Artesanal has an amazing selection of food, and drinks. The pastries are one of a kind, and do not disappoint. My husband waited in line on a Friday morning, and by 8 am many of their popular items were sold out! I tried the chilaquiles croissant, and let me tell you, it was SO good. The chilaquiles on top of the soft , flaky croissant was a perfect combo of tang and sweet. I washed it down with their iced horchata latte. I topped off my croissant with a cinnamon roll, that I shared with my son + husband. It was huge, sticky, and delicious! I would definitely ask my husband to wait in line again for their delicious treats! provecho

Did I wait 30 minutes on a Saturday around 930? Yes and I should have known better. My goal was to get a chile relleno pastry but there were none left. The line moved slowly but it gave me time to look at the other pastries along the counter. I got a blueberry croissant and a carrot cake. Blueberry was better. The breakfast sandwhiches were good. I wouldn't get the horchata latte again since there was barely any coffee taste in it. It was however a good milky horchata, very decadent. I'd try again earlier to see if I can catch the elusive chile relleno croissant. Until next time, Pan Artesanal

Best "hidden" gem for sweet pastry in the city, although it's not hidden to locals who line up at 7:30a or before for the 8a doors to open. If you are not near the front of the line don't be surprised if they are already selling out of items. We snatched the Apple cheese danish, the strawberry flaky square croissant and two of their to die for cinnamon rolls. Easily all the best we've had in Chicago and at very reasonable prices to boot! What's more is that the staff are sweet and efficient and the customers aren't pretentious. Come for the great food and stay for the good vibes.

This place has the absolutely most delicious food. One of the best bakeries I've ever been to in my life. I just love it so much. They need to turn down their music just a bit b/c yelling my order isn't fun.
