I've been here a bunch of times and intend to keep coming back. Ignore the bad reviews. This is a very good steakhouse. It is NOT overpriced, although it's also not cheap. $70ish bucks for a huge (and delicious) filet mignon that comes with salad and potato is a deal. That's what a filet goes for a la carte in most places. The service is well-paced and attentive. Some of the staff are very personable and others are simply professional, but they all do a good job.If you are like Mancow and think that this place is trying to copy a dive bar a few miles away just because they both have old-school decor, you're going to be confused and disappointed. If you have the brain cells to determine that a steakhouse and a bar are two completely different entities and understand that a meal for two here will work out to be around 200 bucks, you will enjoy yourself.

OVER PRICED!Meier's nearby is what this place is TRYING to copy. Elwood's is another mock-oldschool wannabe nearby and its better than EJ's. I have traveled all over the world and eaten with the finest chefs on earth. I could really name drop here. I don't mind paying premium prices for meals that reveal themselves over three or four hours. That's me. Howevet, I find EJ's prices offensive. Really just piggish! An insult!

I've been here numerous times over the years, and I'm always impressed by the service and the food. The quality at EJ's is unmatched. Usually, I get the lamb chops but decided to be spontaneous this time and took the waiter's suggestion for the Chilean sea bass. It was DELICIOUS. The garlic mashed potatoes and the side of bacon are tasty on their own, but if you pair them together, it's unreal. The key lime pie is out of this world. The lighting inside is kind of dim, so the pictures don't come out great.

This is very similar to a traditional old-school steak house you'd find in the city such as Gibsons. The service was impeccable, the lighting is dim, and the restaurant itself is pretty small. Be prepared to use valet parking as the lot is very small. Everything on the menu is extremely expensive, however, the quality of most items is top notch. The salad and fried ravioli were just basic. The fried ravioli was a bit soggy and I would not recommend it. I split the bone-in veal parmesan and it was phenomenal! More than enough for 2 people (or even 3!) and it was prepared perfectly and absolutely delicious! I liked it even more than the steak. We split the key lime pie, banana cream pie, and tiramisu for dessert and all were great! The tiramisu was my personal favorite. This is a good option for special occasions.

Incredibly overpriced for what it is. Steaks are just okay. Just go downtown to Bavettes or maple and ash or something if you're gonna spend the money. Nonetheless though. I do like this restaurant and I like the atmosphere. Owner is cool, martinis are great, lots of good stuff here. But the prices are criminal for being a little supper club off the highway in Skokie.

The best food ever. The chicken parm is the best. And the valet is the best, like the valet named Andy and another guy named Kamil. You should go there on a wednesday because they are not that busy. The waiters are so so nice including the bartenders and the owner. I suggest to also try the chicken noodle soup on Sundays. There is also a cute little boy that is a door holder on Saturdays, his name is Max and he has curly hairP.S. Don't forget to give the valet a tip
