Uncle Chin's Kitchen is a culinary haven for Malaysian food enthusiasts! I've been frequenting the establishment since they first opened and haven't been anywhere since!! The roti Canai is crispy, flaky, soft, and a perfect companion to the flavorful Malaysian curry. The Hainanese chicken boasts tender, poached chicken paired with fragrant rice. The stir-fry flat noodles with tofu offer a delightful mix of textures and tastes. The meat skewers and currypuffs add to their wide range of offerings. The savory and aromatic profiles in these dishes are unmatched. If you've been searching for an authentic Malaysian dining experience, Uncle Chin's Kitchen is a definite winner!

The service is great, and the owners try to make conversation and make sure you are having a good time. It has a rather homely atmosphere and you feel like you have come to a relative's home because the owners gave me free sambal to try, they kept checking on me, and gave me tips on how to better enjoy my food. They also made and served the tea tableside. As for the food, it was delicious. The roasted Hainanese chicken with the rice and the sauces was a winner for me. Also, it is quite a lot of food for the price. Definitely try the tea here because it is authentic and packed with flavor. Worth it!

A small ma and pa restaurant. The roti was nice and crispy but it the curry tasted a little different than what I was expecting. The sizzling seafood tofu is definitely my favorite. So much flavor packed into the dish! The mixed satay meats were nice a tender and the sauce complimented the satay seasoning on it. Kind of like a little sweet and savory taste going on. Everything else was just what you'd expected. Not bad but good and comforting to eat. Would definitely come back.

This is a small family bore Ed restaurant. Service is slow but polite. The food is well portioned , served hot and is very good. I had the roasted Hainan chicken . It came with three very tasty sauces and the portions are large. I had never had Malaysian food , but this is an excellent place to try it.

Malaysian cuisine is hard to come by in our hometown of San Antonio, Tx. So, on our way home from a weekend at the beach, we decided to give Uncle Chin's a try. We started off with the plain Roti Canal, the sauce had a nice spice and diverse flavor with a subtle hint of cinnamon. It was spicer than I anticipated but not too hot - just right. The Roti was flawless. Warm, flaky and soft. Perfect for tearing and dipping. My main meal was the seafood Malaysian Char Kuey Teow. I ordered it spicy and the spice was relatively low; I'd go extra spicy if you like a lot of heat. The flavor was bold and the seafood was cooked perfectly. Enough of a portion for two meals. The waitresses were attentive and prompt. The kept our drinks full and made great suggestions as to what to order. The place is very casual and rather quaint. Perfect little spot for a great meal!

I actually came here during Thanksgiving because I had to travel to Houston, but I was starving and desperate to find a place still open. So happy that Uncle Chin's was available!! Got two different soups and they were so flavorful and filling, I had enough to take home to enjoy later. Service was very friendly and fast.

Lovely place with delicious food. My husband and I walked here tonight and got the #9 with seafood after the server recommended it. Even though my husband dislikes Asian noodle dishes he loved it. I loved it too even more than expected. The flavor was phenomenal even though I had to order it mild without being spicy since I'm pregnant. The chef and server were so considerate and the food came out hot and delicious very quickly. We took it home to eat and it was still warm and fresh - my picture isn't very good and doesn't do our meal justice. Looking forward to going back to try more dishes.

The food here is great! Additionally, it didn't take a very long time for the food to cook, which was also a bonus. The waitress was very nice too. Check this place out! Just a warning that menu items can run out because it's mostly cooked by one person. But everything was good, regardless.

Uncle Chin/Franco is absolutely down to earth and an amazing chef. For Cantonese, besides of dim sum, Hongkong milk tea, Hainanese chicken should be one of those dishes take you back home when it was cooked right! This is the place not only taste like home, but also feel like home! Lucky you guys live in Houston, wish we have something like that in Austin! Thank you! Tip: everything is freshly made the night before/morning, easily sold out before store close, so come early if you can!
