this is always the OG spot for some authentic vietnamese lunch. im always here for their com tam. there's nothing particular amazing about this place compare to other com tam place, but their food is always consistent. not one of those cross your fingers and hope they're going to be good kind of deal. you can add whatever you want to their com tam, it it ranges from 8-11$ depending on what you get. also comes with a side of soup. always a nice touch. they also serve good lau mam. great for part of 3-4 on a cold day. their specialty here is their moon cakes. been around for years, and quality is always always good. yes its on the higher end, but worth all the pennies. they do have ban bia and ban deo all year round. but their moon cakes are to die for! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I came here just to grab some mooncakes. Ever since I lived in California, we've had mooncakes from Tuong Ky and this year was going to be the first year I'd get a box for myself. My parents usually got them before. It's in a fairly busy center despite it being during COVID times. I got there at around noon and there were people there getting mooncakes, but I could see/smell that they were also a restaurant that served meat. They had seating but the counter top was full of boxes of mooncakes. The wall to the left have the flavors along with prices... all in Vietnamese. When I was there, there were 2 people at the front: a lady and a man. Neither spoke great English. My Vietnamese is limited to mainly listening, some reading and clunky speaking skills (or lack thereof). I bought a box of my favorite mooncakes filled with lotus seed (hot sen) - my go to. I also decided to try their taro (khoai môn) but only bought one. These were in the flaky pastry in a round shape, whereas the lotus was in the traditional Cantonese style, in a square shape. We eventually got the "okay" from the lady that both were vegetarian and didn't use lard, because they do use lard in some of their mooncakes. Not the cheapest - taro was almost $4 for one and the lotus seed amounted to about $8 each - but when are mooncakes cheap? They are fairly large though. My dad even called me, told me to go back so he could talk to the lady through the phone to make sure. She said that their mung bean (dau xanh) and lotus seed mooncakes are not made of lard. She also said that the taro is okay. Packaging for the boxed lotus seed is quite nice and they looked beautiful. I ate the taro first because it was placed in a loose paper bag. It contained one salted yolk and wasn't as fragrant as some other taro mooncakes are. It also had an animal odor... the filling was interspersed with what tasted like candied winter melon (a first to me). I only ate one small piece because it tasted slightly off and the rest went to my omnivorous friend; the lotus seed one that I've had from them for years never had that aroma nor any winter melon. All in all, I've never had any complaints with their lotus seed mooncakes, but I didn't know that there'd be a thing with animal products throughout so many of their products or surprise winter melon! I guess most all of their customers wouldn't have the same issues so it wouldn't be a concern. Haha.Even so, I still recommend their lotus seed mooncakes but if you happen to be vegetarian, know it's not all lard-free.

Food is delicious. It's not the fanciest place, but it and other businesses there, like the bakery, are perfect if you want a more homemade food experience

Tucked in an unassuming strip mall on the corner of Beechnut and Wilcrest, Tuong Ky Fast Food was a great find. We were hungry for a late lunch, and found only one other party dining in the restaurant during COVID-19 Shelter in Place. The space is very clean with modern design. Disposable paper menus are available. Service is fast and accommodating. Food is served hot, fresh and delicious, and portions are generous. The egg rolls are crunchy and savory. We will definitely be back! Check it out if you are in the neighborhood.

This place just renovated their business and it looks great and modern! My father and I went there yesterday to eat Bun Mam and it's one of my favorite places to go eat this dish at. They also have new dishes like chao long and dish meatballs with bread to dip.

Food is decent, I had the rice plate with pork chop, egg cake and sausage. All 3 were small in portion, like a kid's meal... Freaking stingy.

I ordered the bun mam, fried rice cakes w/eggs, and combo rice plate for eat in. The portions are average and the flavors are just ok; nothing special. I won't come back to eat here, I'll just buy the pia dessert that they are known for. Service is typical of Vietnamese restaurants; come take order, bring drinks, bring food, disappear until you're done eating or unless you call them, then bring check.

Don't be fooled by "Fast Food" in the name of Tuong Ky 祥記 Fast Food restaurant. It's not fast at all. I waited almost 30 minutes for a wonton noodle soup. I managed to write one review of another restaurant, drafted a review and created a TikTok video. Yup slow like I have plenty of time. It's rare to find a restaurant that opens for breakfast in Chinatown. I came here well before 11, there were already few tables taken. While I was there, several takeout customers came to pick up their orders. I noticed that most of them were not Asian. Inside looks like a mess. The photos from outside were so appetizing as opposed to inside, there's none. For example, I saw moon cake photo on a large window sign. Thinking there are many inside for sale. That day, I only saw 5 boxes. I asked the employee the cost, he just pointed the wall. The menu signs on the wall were all in Vietnamese. Ok whatever. Don't want to make a sale, just say so.My wonton noodle soup was pretty good, actually. I piled on sprouts and savory herbs made it even better. I'm drooling as I'm writing this review. I am going back to try other dishes that many reviewers mentioned.

Rude as hell. If there is a negative stars i would give them.Looks like the owner sits right at the entrance when walked in talking very rude. Unsure why youre business still runs when you treat customers rudely when they just walked into the entrance.

Most bland vermacelli pork and eggroll dish. Fish sauce had no flavor besides being too sweet with light ginger. Eggroll looked pale white and was shaped in small squares. Tasted like nothing. The entire dish had zero flavor. Service was bad with them providing the wrong dish. Female workers were lazy and spent their time gossiping. The food was way too americanised. Fake vietnamese food at its worse. Price is too high too.
