Bo Luc Lac ($9.00): Usually very soft, juicy, and tender. Quite good most of the time. Nice Portion.
New thing in the restaurant. Hot salt sauce toast, it is very yummy with mayonnaise on the top... should come and try it at the restaurant.

Been here twice and the rice plates have always been consistently good. The Korean short ribs, eggroll, Chinese sausage, fried egg and egg cake is my go to rice plate. Service is as good as you can expect from Chinatown. I only deduct one star because they don't have the lemon soda most places do and they offer sprite in place of that.

Had their c1, the special combination yesterday. Worst com tam i ever tasted. The grill pork was not well cooked. The egg has no flavor. The rice was too moist. The only thing that was decent in the combination was the chinese sausage

The place is a little outdated & seems to always empty every time we stopped by. I only tried their Bo Luc Lac Fried Rice & Com Tam so far. The portion and the food quality were decent. Their Com Tam Pork Chop was moist, good thickness, but just average to my taste though. I ordered Pork Chop, Chinese Sausage, Tau Hu Ky, and Fried Egg for my Com Tam ($9.25). $9 Bo Luc Lac comes with a fried egg and in the same size as other $12-$13 places. I had it better at a few other places but no one can beat this price. The service was slow & the server didn't really check up on us anytime during our meal - but it's the same almost everywhere else in Chinatown so it's not a concern for us lol. Will still come back once in a while.

I found my new rice plate place! As dirty as this place is, the meats were tender, rice was fluffy, and soup was simple. The service was quick and prices were not expensive. Win win

The food was alright, nothing specialThe service was not too goodThe server barely talked to us except when taking ordersHe brought the food to us but he just placed it on the table and then left without even saying a wordI was looking around to get the check but he didnt pay attention to me so I had to come to the counter to pay. When I came to the counter, he told me the total before I even get to say anything (made me felt like he was trying to push us away)When we left he didnt even look at us or say byeI didnt feel welcome and probably will not come back again

Had lunch here with friends by mistake because I thought I had looked up a different broken rice restaurant. Thankfully,it turned out ok. We ordered a lot of dishes and I would say their food is pretty good standard-fare Vietnamese cuisine. Pretty extensive menu. Definitely a whole-in-wall establishment (but of course, that's where all the good food in Bellaire comes from.) Food came out fairly quickly. The dinner for 2 has 4 dishes - salad, squid, sweet and sour fish soup, and caramelized claypot fish. Portions are a tad bit smaller but food seemed much fresher. The canh chua (soup) was ok, I've had better. I liked the goi salad the most. Com tam (broken rice plate) looked really good! Everyone at the restaurant was ordering that, which is what they are known for. We will probably come back to order that. We had ordered it but I was pretty full from the other dishes to try it. Best part about this place? Food was cheap and affordable. Keep in mind, this place is CASH ONLY.

I was craving some Com tam (broken rice) & since this place specializes in them I figured I'll give it a try. But based on mixed reviews, outdated decor & the place itself was dead, I was a bit iffy about even dining in. However I decided to stay & I have to say that I throughly enjoyed my meal. Here's what I ordered. * Banh Xeo (Vietnamese Crepe)- very crispy, flaky, huge & the coloring on the crepe was spot on. The shrimp had a nice bouncy texture, the pork on the hand wasn't that good. I would have did better with just the shrimp inside. 3.5/5 * Com tam (Broken rice) with pork chop, baked egg, shredded pork & fried egg.- to my surprise the pork chops were not dry, it was actually moist with a good amount of flavor. The rice was fluffy and cooked nicely. The baked egg was textbook made. 3.8/5I really did not enjoy the fish sauce that much because it was boring & needed some more ingredients, I suggest maybe adding in some sugar to give it a little sweetness to it & squeeze some lime as well. Visually it just looks like they poured fish sauce, then added the chili sauce & carrots with no other ingredients. Overall the food was solid & the service was excellent, I am guessing my server was the owner. The only thing that really needs improvement is their fish sauce & the decor. Will I return? Yep.

My family was here in the morning. The restaurant is under the new management. I wanted to give it a try, and turn out it is a wrong move. We ordered 2 drinks( Dp Pepper and Homemade Soy milk). Soy milk isn't fresh, got a weird sticky stuffs in the milk. For food, we have steam rice with shaken beef, hot and sour fish soup, spring roll, and rice in the clay pot. The bill was around $70 without tip. I forgot to take a picture of the food. it was okay, not too bad but we don't like the service. We are the only one in the restaurant. There is one of the food that I ordered isn't available. The lady came out and suggested me to order different dish after 10- 15 minutes wait. She raised her voice and wanted me to order the dish that she suggested. Worst experience and won't come back.

The foods are a lot for the prices..Canh chua ... is not "sour " and needs more vinegar, "Ca kho to" needs more salty and sweet and burned caramel flavor.I hope they can improve

Food: MID. The peach tea was full of artificial sweeteners, so saccharine that it was undrinkable. I had to trash the whole thing. The grilled beef in the cơm tấm was sinewy and had barely any meat. Service: Even more MID. I placed my order on the phone. When I got there to pick up, the cashier ignored me and went to the back for 20 min until I managed to get her attention. She said she thought I was with the guy who was in front of me!! Bruh, I was clearly social distancing behind that guy, so why would you even think that. So that guy got his food before me even though I called a good 25 min prior. Like my APUSH teacher used to say, "to assume is to make an ass of u and me". Could not pay me to go back there.
