This complex seasoned dish is a thick yellow split pea soup that is enjoyed in a variety of ways, including as a soup, over curry dishes, or a mug of "coffee" on a cold day. We serve this with a Texas twist with sada roti for dipping. Thank of it as "salsa and chips"!
Created in princes Town, Trinidad, this vegan dish is the staple streed food of Trinidad. The channa is cooked with Trinidad curry, onions, garlic and is served with bara.We added a Texas twist and serve like a taco. Oh wow, this place is fantastic. My only complaint is the limited opening time - just Friday and Saturday afternoon right now. So far I've only had the doubles (sort of like chickpea tacos - chickpea shell and curried chickpea filling) and daal. The daal, such flavor. Tomorrow I'm going to hit it again and ask them for a triple or quadruple serving of the daal, and try the chicken curry.Such a solid addition to Galveston's food scene.

!!!!!!YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE!!!!! Before I even discuss the food, THE SERVICE ive lived on the island most my life and was really tired of the same type of food, weve passed the food trucks a few times before so we decided to stop in for lunch. We've never even tried curry so the owner gave us some very tasty samples and we were happy to order what he suggested. We sat down and he personally brought us every plate as it came out. THE FOOD!! Very healthy portions and really fresh. The flavor was like something I've never experienced before. I usually am particular about trying new foods, but everything we tried made me clap my hands and do a little dance. I had to stop and talk to the chef and tell her how amazing our experience was. I will recommend this place the next time anyone asks me where they should go for a nice hearty lunch that they can still feel good walking away from.

Their jerk chicken is amazing! I have never had Trinidad food in my life. This food truck does a spectacular job of giving its customers an inside scoop on Trinidad food! The owners are very friendly too!
