This food trucker is a hidden gem in Chinatown. One of the only place you can get Chinese breakfast. The owner speaks English and all the menu have English and Chinese on it. It's my mom and me first time trying the food here so we bought a bunch of food. They were all delicious and worth every dollar. The TJ in the name stands for the city the owner is from in China, Tian Jin. After you order they will give you a pager. So you can sit in your car and wait for the food to be ready. The food came out pretty quickly. If you want northern Chinese style breakfast, this is the spot to get it.

A hidden gem food truck that's becoming a favorite amongst the Chinese community. It's affordable, quality, and delicious! The food truck specializes in popular northern-style Chinese breakfast foods, specifically from the region of Tianjin. It's one of the most authentic places I've tried. For beginners, I would recommend the Chinese hamburger and Chinese crepe!I hope this small food truck gets more hype since it's tucked away in a small corner of chinatown due to high rent and competition. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to try out delicious traditional Chinese street food! Support this small family business!*Bring Cash! The only caveat is that it's cash only.

I don't give out 5/5 stars often, but I got to say the jian bing (Chinese style crepe) here topped all the places I've had since coming to Houston (Westchase area to be more exact) for short weekend getaway. This is a food truck with limited hours, 8:30a-2p on days they're opened. Closed Mondays and Fridays. Staff speaks Mandarin here, but tried their best to understand me. My husband and I got the jian bing with soybean milk combo for $8. Soybean milk was hot and not sweetened :( but the jian bing was amazing. Freshly made, so basic but so good. We asked for little spicy just in case spicy was too spicy. Our kids (4 and 5) had already had breakfast and even they liked it. My oldest asked for one whole one himself next time, so we plan to go again for sure.

The jianbing at this place is pretty authentic - hot, fresh and yummy. I recommend making it spicy. I wish they had cold soy milk because even though the soy milk was good, drinking it on a hot day was not ideal. One downside is I wish this truck was open later - they close at 2 and I think they're closed completely for the hottest parts of summer.

we came across this hidden gem thanks to yelp! it's located in an empty parking lot on corporate drive right behind hmart! they don't even have an ig or a website :o this food truck specializes in jianbing which is a traditional chinese street food that's often eaten for breakfast. it's basically a fried egg crepe wrapped w spam! the tianjin-style jianbing didn't have any protein but there was a large crispy wonton. it also had a tiny hint of spice from the chili oil and savory bean paste! overall the food was very filling for a really good price!i recommend going early bc some items sell out quick! we got there around noon and they were already out of the chinese burger :( also make sure to bring cash w you i think they're cash-only!what we got:- jianbing- tianjin-style jianbing- steamed pork baosig: @whatsviveating

I need more people to visit this food truck so it can be there every time I visit Houston. I woke up wanting dan bing and we got this instead. I AM SO HAPPY WE DID. We got the spicy jian bing without the youtiao, soy milk, and an order of the steamed buns. (We got there around noon and he was almost sold out of everything and all the youtiao had sold out by then.) Ate the steamed buns on the way back to Austin and they were so good. The jian bing was hot and soft and crispy and savory and just...it was perfect. I now wanna start every morning with jian bing. The soy milk is completely unsweetened. And very hot. We got some some syrup from yumcha to add to our soy milks and we drank it all. It was the best breakfast I've had in a really long time.I went with a friend who speaks Mandarin, so she ordered for us. I'm actually not sure if I could've ordered if she hadn't been there to translate and order, but I'm definitely going to try next time. Oh, and it's cash only!Great service, amazing food, 10/10 pls go. I love and hate that the truck is in a small parking lot a couple of streets down from Bellaire. Like, it's not crowded where he's at, but it would also mean he doesn't get as much foot traffic.

It's a small truck in the corner of a strip mall parking lot. The owners speak Chinese to most of the clientele who also order in Chinese. (The owners speak English too and the staff were friendly). It's a small operation: they only take cash. The hours are short, and they are not open everyday. There is no seating area - most people took the food to their car to eat.Their jianbing is super authentic to what I'd order when I lived in NE China. It's great. I ordered the spicy one, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. We also ordered the Rou Jia Mo sandwiches, hot soy milk, and Bao Zi steamed buns. They were selling out of items by the time we left (close to 2pm).Unassuming, authentic, and you'll feel like you really found a hidden gem. TJ Food really encapsulates a lot of what I love about Houston!
