I came here on a last minute whim with a group on a Friday night. When we walked in, the place was packed. I'm not sure if they take reservations. Since we came in spur of the moment, there was a considerable wait. In retrospect, maybe I should have came back another time. The wait felt exceptionally long in my opinion. Once we were seated, it seemed that our wait to get in the restaurant was just the beginning of more waiting. Our server was polite and helpful but maybe due to the high volume of people it did seem like everything from food to drinks took a longer time than expected to arrive to the table and in my opinion, affected the flow of the meal and evening. Another thing I thought was a bit off putting for me was the proximity of the tables. I don't mind the noise or full restaurant but the tables here are so close I felt I was part of three or four different conversations. I did notice they had more seating outside but it was a cooler night, so not many people were seated outside. The food was ok. It's not that it wasn't good but it wasn't spectacular either. It was pretty mid in my opinion. I can get higher quality Cajun food for half the price and way less wait elsewhere. My favorite thing was the boudin. I just love boudin and this one was not bad at all. I should have just ordered one more link and called it a night. Instead, I ordered the sausage and chicken gumbo which wasn't anything to write home about. This is probably a great place to come grab some drinks and chill. The place was packed and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. I'm less likely come back strictly for the food but maybe catching a drink here in the future is possible.

So we went here originally for a brunch buffet, that doesn't exist. We opted to order from the regular menu as none of their brunch options seemed to tickle our pickle. Ambiance was nice, clean, spacious. They had both high table, booth and options to sit at the bar. I saw a few ppl outside w/ their dogs, so that's permitted. Apps: Scallops w/risotto in Lemon garlic butter sauce ( his best bite) Entrees: Wedge & Corn chowder w/ lump crab (my best bite)Ahi tuna salad We were pleasantly surprised because none of the food looked as good as it tastes, based on previous Yelp photos. Give them a chance if you're in the area, but don't order boudin. Enter freely, they've been approved

It's been a while since I've been to this restaurant. I had a meeting with a client and figured, it was great last time, it's made it through Covid so it must still be good. And it was.Service was great. Atmosphere was fantastic. It's not super loud so it's easy to have conversation.I went in thinking I want a steak... The server told us about the daily specials and I was sold on the blackened bass served on Cajun shrimp risotto. It was outstanding!Highly recommend and will be back!

We came in on a Saturday night and sat at the bar to grab drinks. We were helped immediately and the bartender was friendly. Maybe it was because it was getting later in the night, but after we initially sat down, the service was a less stellar. A group of servers stood behind the bar on their phones where everyone could see them and it was a little annoying when we needed their attention. The couple sitting next to us paid in cash and a server ran out of the restaurant after them, accused them of not paying, walked them back into the restaurant in front of everyone until another server came and admitted that she had pocketed the cash and had not put it in the drawer yet. This experience was very off putting because they embarrassed a customer for their own employees mistake and took no accountability or remedy for the situation that we saw.I would recommend sticking to drinks that are on the menu because we ordered whiskey sours and they were horrible. Afterwards, we ordered the old fashioned off the menu and it was delicious. The food was delicious...we had the steak and the gumbo, and I would return for both of these dishes. It is a beautiful and bright restaurant and I would definitely go back for the food and drinks, but I would probably try a different location as the service here was not my favorite.

Dined here recently on a Friday with a group of friends. We had a 6:15pm reservation in the dining room which was during happy hour. They honor the happy hour menu in the dining room and the happy hour menu is attached. There were 6 of us and it was a tight fit. The service overall was as expected. I ordered a cup of the Seafood Gumbo (picture attached) and a house salad with grilled chicken. The gumbo was excellent and I highly recommend it. It was a bit pricey but a good sized portion and pretty filling. The salad was tasty, but the value isn't as great. It was extremely small for the price. All in all, I recommend this place. It's just a bit pricey for what you get but it's a cool hang. Probably need to get here early to get a decent seat.

We came here to try their chargrilled oysters since we've been craving it. The oyster wasn't bad but it was a little bit too salty for our taste buds and compared to places we've been too. We also ate their etouffee and ordered crab stuffed flounder for our main dish and both was good. The waitress was friendly throughout the night and always checked back on us and asked if we need anything. The atmosphere was great and they have several tvs to enjoy sports.

It has been several years since dining at the Rouxpour - Sugar Land. The service was top notch, led by Paul, a wonderful server that led us to a wonderful meal and dining experience. Following his suggestions: the blueberry martini (name?) was delicious, the incredible scallop appetizer was topped with lump crab on a risotto bed and an entree of chilean sea-bass with grilled shrimp. The scallops were so good that we decided to split the entree and enjoy another order with our main course. Paul suggested the sea-bass be blackened to lock in the juices. This was the best sea-bass I have ever tasted. To finish off the meal, again at Paul's suggestion, we enjoyed the crème brûlée. Overall, the entire evening was incredible. I can't say enough about the food or our charming waiter, Paul.

I dined here with my in laws and husband to celebrate a birthday lunch. My in laws are older and sensitive to sounds. The Rouxpour has the most militant seating policy of any restaurant I have ever eaten in. They have set aside tables for 2, 4, and 5 guests and refuse to seat groups larger than 6 on the sign. What? What type of policy is this? I suppose from an efficiency standpoint it makes sense but it's definitely not a customer-loving policy. Due to the noise level in the restaurant, we asked to be seated in a booth nook typically reserved for 5 guests. Note that a family of four with a baby counted as 5 but we counted as 4. The hostess wouldn't allow it but our waiter made an exception and got manager approval to seat us in the nook. All really great of them except that the underlying policy makes very little sense. Then, we can now discuss the vibe and the costs. The whole restaurant is attempting to feel upscale but feels like a gloried sports bar. But charging Brennan's prices? The tables are seated too close to feel worth the price. Really, dining at an Olive Garden would be more enjoyable. Once we were settled into our nook, our meal itself was lovely and our waiter was patient and nice with us. My ahi tuna salad was a little strange but ok. Really had the flavor of a $15 salad not $22-24 salad. The gumbo was quite delicious and the highlight of our meal. I would never recommend anyone eat here at the price point. It is definitely a lipstick on a pig type of situation. I feel bad about leaving a low rating when the manager did seem like a nice guy who did help us. But, militant seating policies and dress code policies that still enabled sweat pants in but no cowboy hats just all was silly.

Don't come here if you're dressed for Houston, Texas weather! There are plenty of other restaurants that have great food that will allow you to Dine with them.Reading the reviews I see another Black woman was denied service...I wonder if thats the reason. I also see that other Black patrons have issues with this location! Don't go here! The Katy location is inclusive!

Went to Rouxpour for their Oyster Happy Hour. Here's a detailed breakdown of what we indulged in:1. Seafood Gumbo (4/5): The gumbo was served in a generous portion, with pieces of sausage, crab, and shrimp. Its rich and hearty flavor was nicely balanced with just the right amount of spice and the BREAD was buttered so well.2. Oyster (4/5) - The oysters were fresh and cleanly presented. However, they were a tad mild in flavor. 3. Cajun Deviled Eggs (4/5): Had a nice smooth, creamy texture. The addition of blackened shrimp and jalapeño sausage introduced a salty and spicy kick.4. **SPECIAL Scallop and Pasta (5/5) - The scallops were seared to perfection, achieving a translucent center that melted in the mouth. They were served atop a bed of pasta dressed in a buttery sauce, with fresh tomatoes and herbs adding a burst of freshness to the dish. Amazing! Our server Alex provided us impeccable service and engaging conversation. Amazing attention to details and genuine care for our dining experience.
