Every time I'm in Pioneer Square, I find myself stopping by Intrigue Chocolate. It's a small space that's inviting with the most patient and friendly staff. There are a variety of truffles in the case to choose from, especially since if you check-in on Yelp, you get a free truffle with purchase! And there are different, high-quality chocolate bars for sale, in addition to the bar they have where you can order your chocolate-y drink! Plus, there's coffee here in case you need a caffeine fix. In my most recent visit I tried the French Laundry drink and for someone who does not like flavored coffees, this one was outta this world! Although you should try the hot chocolate if you haven't already, the French Laundry is one I recommend for anyone who loves lavender flavors and needs coffee! The French Laundry is made up of milk, cold brew and lavender syrup. Simple but tons of flavor! There is a lot to intrigue you at Intrigue Chocolate! This is such a treat in Seattle and is one of my favorite places for chocolate. It will soon be yours too once you visit!"

They have lots of seating and a relaxed vibe. We seated ourself at the restaurant and ordered through the website. The website would not let us select water as a beverage and it appears that not everything you order crosses over because I upgraded my fries to truffle fries and the waitress said that she did not see it on our order. My husband ordered the coop chicken sandwich, I got the fish and chips, and for my son we got a grilled cheese and house made chips. My fish and chips were delicious! They were hot, crispy, and the fish was a good portion with two pieces. My husband's chicken sandwich was good, but nothing to rave about. The grilled cheese and house chips were also delicious. Our son ate almost all of the grilled cheese and we enjoyed the crispy chips. The prices were what you would expect for a restaurant in the airport from $18-$23. We would definitely eat there again.Rating from F to A+++, I give it an A++."

"In short:You've had hand pies several times from other culinary traditions; think of these as being similar to empanadas, just known by another name.In long:I've had these samsas a few times now, because they used to cater lunch at the office at my old work. They've been consistently delicious for 5 years. They're a little smaller than your hand, and stuffed with maybe an inch of filling. 2 of them will fill up quite a few people. The truck itself is hard to miss. It's a Sprinter van, and the longest one I've seen. Big signage on the sides. They posted up Friday in a neighborhood near me. I ended up getting dinner for everybody, so I got to try most of the menu, at least in bites here and there. We got the beef, cheesy beef, chicken, squash, and spinach samsas. The squash ones seemed almost dessert-y, because baked squash is not far off baked pumpkin, which the typical American (like me) thinks of as dessert pie in the autumn. The others were all unmistakably savory entrée pies. The great thing about these is how light, flaky, and un-greasy the dough is on every one. The fillings are fantastic, too, but they've absolutely nailed the dough. Each one was about $6, and they do offer sides, though I just loaded up on samsas and off I went. I hope to see this truck more often for sure."

In many respects it still is. Very good halo halo. The lumpiang Shanghai is better than most restaurants. The sinigang was a good helping, but probably just enough for two people. And although perfectly sour, the meat tasted a bit off. Like it was on its last leg. At the front counter there is a plaque with the headline of a news article about the store. I looked it up while we were waiting. It talks about how they've fallen on financial hard times as a result of the pandemic. There's another sign that says rice is no longer included in meals and you have to pay extra for it. The floors are sticky, there was only a single diner eating in, and it seems like the store is not well taken care of. The people who work here are nice. I feel bad that they've had such a rough go of it lately. But $26 for a single entree with no sides is S T E E P. I'd probably come back just for the halo halo. Frank W. "Oak is an excellent restaurant. My own meal was not great. But everyone else in our party of five raved about it. So I feel it is important to offer a useful assessment and not indulge one's own opinion about what in the overall scheme of things is not a big deal (who was it who said in the long run we're all dead -- I'm trying to cultivate a more Zen attitude).I was there with my wife, my wife's friend, the friend's sister, and the sister's husband. We were in town during a terrible heat wave, which is not random but the result of climate change (it is crucial to emphasize this in every context since it poses an existential threat to all of us which renders opinions about dining options inconsequential at best). Three of us were running half marathons, and this was the evening between two races for me. We wanted a good hearty meal. We were not disappointed. We noticed immediately the range of choices. The social scientists who study "choice" advise that too much of it makes most people incapable of making a decision. Choice can be an illusion. But not in this case. The specific type of choice that should be lifted up for praise is the vegetarian and vegan options. Probably no other place known for hamburgers in this town offers such a range of non-meat alternatives, of high quality according to the two members of our group who partook in them. The items such as salads which were not meat alternatives but conventional plant based dishes were competent and entree sized -- it is not a criticism to say a single person could not possibly finish one as an appetizer, but a recommendation for the table to order one. We had two. They were refreshing on an evening in a stretch which set records for high temperatures. All four diners praised their dishes, two with meat and two without. The fried pickle spears which we shared also were high quality. The French fries were superb, crisp on the outside, creamy on the inside, hot, salty, and not out of a bag.The disappointment was my chicken pot pie. It was edible. It was not a disaster. The problem, which one might guess was caused by how hot it was (meaning the kitchen must have been much worse), was that the crust was doughy. It had not been baked long enough. The filling was fine. The crust would have been well served with much longer in the oven. That means that four out of five diners at the table would have given Oak the highest rating and I would have have liked to do so. Rounding up, that makes for five stars. It's important to be generous. That also takes into account friendly service by a waiter who consented to allow an apprentice tattoo artist put on his arm a combination of two old sailor's images, which looked like a set of stairs and goat legs (that was all the explanation we received, and it was intriguing). I would try it again, without a doubt."

Looking over the menu, I went with the peanut butter bacon burger and fried pickle chips to-go. It was quiet inside and a worker stood at alert and was attentive in taking orders. I waited at an empty table as they prepared my meal. The to-go bag came with napkins and a dipping sauce as well.Peanut butter on the peanut butter bacon burger was evenly distributed on the whole burger. It was slightly sweet and was subtle enough that I could taste the other toppings as well. The patty was well cooked and the bacon was both juicy and crispy. For the fried pickle chips, I found them to be hot and flavorful. The pickle chips were thick enough I could taste the pickle itself and the dipping sauce was tasty. Brett N. "Why 5 stars? Because this was the perfect way to finish off my day. --- --- ---In researching a bunch of restaurants to check out while in Seattle, Local Tide stood out to me as I place I definitely wanted to try. As fate would have it, someone recommended we check out a beer bar before dinner, and that beer bar was literally about 100 yards away from Local Tide. So it was meant to be. We had a pretty big, late lunch, so I wasn't starving, but I definitely wanted to try a couple things. Shrimp toast and clam chowder? Sounds like the perfect combination. The clam chowder I thought was sold, but unspectacular. I prefer a creamier base. But the shrimp toast was everything I wanted it to be. It came with a sweet mayo and a chili sauce for dipping. The chili sauce was way too spicy for me, but the sweet mayo was ideal. But probably more impactful than the food were the people working here. We were all decked out in our Browns gear for the game that was happening the next day, and a couple of the employees basically chatted with us the whole time about football, what the stadium experience would be like and Seattle in general. Tom B. "In short:A friendly, welcoming Thai place in a converted old house. Incredible traditional dishes and a fun staff. In long:Just off the main drag on the way out to the island. Biggish parking on one of those pointed-corner lots. Old house, from probably pre-WW2, now with signage and whatnot to let you know it's no longer residential...but still painted in homey, quaint colors. Walk around front after parking, and you've already gone by a dozen bushes sprouting huge peony blossoms. There are a couple dozen more scattered around the patio, which is fenced in with low iron fencing and looks lovely. On busy summer days this must be a fun place to come dine al fresco. Inside, there are a couple small dining rooms over there, kitchen in the back, long hallway down to the washrooms. Kind of what you'd expect from a building designed to be a home--I love these converted spots. Everything's clean, and there's pretty art on the walls. Mostly affordable paintings of decorative scenes. There's plenty of natural light from the windows, and the whole place has a lovely informal feel. The menu covers about 12 pages, maybe about 70 dishes. Lots of soups, salads, curries, plenty of noodle dishes. We noticed a few things that the more Americanized Thai places rarely offer--stir-fried pork belly, duck curry, fried whole snapper.Marinated beef appetizerThis dish has a Thai name that changes based on whether you order chicken or beef. One of my favorite things about this place was when we tried to order this, our first dish, our server confirmed it by checking the Thai name against what we said. One subtle signal that they're closer to the history of the food than they are to turning it into fusion. We got several curly pieces of beef fried 'til almost a bit crispy on the edge. The ground nuts, herbs, and other toppings added a ton of flavor, as did the dipping sauce/gel. But nothing compared to the condiments.Condiment caddyNot usually worth reviewing at any restaurant, but here it is. Pickled jalapenos, peppers in fish sauce, and fried pepper flakes. All loaded with flavor. Our server laughed about how none of the cooks like sautéing the pepper flakes since the fumes make it tough to breathe. We wondered aloud whether we could pull it off at home, and she laughed some more and said "if you don't feel like cooking these yourself, just keep coming back here!" Man, they light up the food, too. Partial spoonfuls would bring the fire every time. Red curry chickenI'm the boring one who got something traditional. It sure was amazing, though. All the flavors you expect, clear as bells, in a sauce that's halfway between broth and chowder. I kept portioning off small plates to experiment with different condiment combinations of heat and tart, and they all worked. Then I used the serving spoon from the rice to finish the curry sauce, because I am just that much of a pig. Whole fried snapperCovered with cashews, lemongrass, ginger, and herbs, as you might expect, along with finely-chopped green apple and lime, which you might not. Bursts of acid and sweetness in occasional bites make this even more interesting than it already is. Prices here are very reasonable, and the service could not be more funny, friendly, warm, and charming. They're flying out of the kitchen with tea, appetizers, and your order so quickly, 'cause they're modern enough to track orders and bills via iPad. About that tea--it's fresh brewed, batch by batch, in heavy little pots. No bottomless silver pots here."
