"Old school Chinese food. Cash only. Served per plate. To get the amount of food for the price point in San Diego is unheard of. A plate here for under $10 would run you about a few bucks or more at a Panda Express. The food here seemed pretty authentic too. The only knock I have here is it did take a bit of time to get the food out but it's a small operation and there was a line out the door for lunch. Another sign the food here is pretty good. The bbq pork here was fantastic."
"I saw these cafes all over San Diego while I was visiting and it turned out to be the perfect place for me to grab breakfast after working out! They have a huge menu from traditional breakfast items to smoothies, acai bowls, adaptogenic/functional beverages, and so much more. It's super light and bright inside, and you order at the front before choosing a table. I got the brekkie croissant sandwich, and I loved it. At first I thought the asparagus was kind of weird, but I actually really enjoyed it! The sauce was great, there was a solid amount of egg on there, and the croissant was soooo soft and buttery. Wish I could have tried more on the menu!"
"Boba Love, or more accurately Boba Love 2 since the original is located in Murrieta, has replaced a tanning business in a suite next door to a Guamanian eatery in Miramar. With the word 'Love' in its name, the first thing that struck me about the interior was a lot of red, pink, and orchid colors. There were plenty of stuffed animals on display and even a social media friendly wall of red roses. A worker was busy in the back kitchen washing dishes and glassware when I walked in. He didn't approach the service counter until another set of customers arrived after me.There were three menu screens, the first of which featured five acai bowls and an acai smoothie. The middle screen listed the smoothies, hot drinks, and protein drinks. The final flat panel contained the fruit teas, milk teas, and specialty drinks. I have an affinity for fruit teas so this time I selected a Dragon Fruit variety with boba added for $0.70. The drink came as a pink liquid to match the themed decor of the shop. The regular sweetness was fine with my palate while the pearls were cooked to a soft degree.Only a few tables were available for inside seating, and they were well spaced apart. Along the back wall were two self-service frozen yogurt machines. Fro yo wasn't even an item on any of the menus so I cannot comment on the price per ounce. Overall, my Boba Love experience was positive enough for a four star rating."
"One of my favorite lunch spots around work! Everything I've tried on the menu has been delicious! You can call your order in ahead of time if you want to avoid the wait... the staff is always super friendly and helpful! Both of the sandwiches are great... the bowls are awesome too! Definitely worth trying if you are in the area and looking for a good lunch spot!"
"Love coming to this place alone or with friends, when I'm hungry or just want a healthy snack, or just a regular coffee. It simply is one of the best coffee shops in San Diego!"
"3.5 it's a great quick spot. Food was pretty good but nothing over the top or something I'd be recommending to friends to try out."
"The food (the biscuit) I had was delicious! So yummy! The service from Grayson was TOP NOTCH! So kind and knowledgeable of me sharing my taste buds and him providing an excellent recommendation! Thank you! It's a great, local coffee shop that's female owned and I loved the decor! Really nice! Can't wait to return!"
"Very convenient food option inside Serpentine cider barThe hot links were very tastyOrder at the window and served at the table However I would have wished for a bigger portion of meat for the price"
"Great "underrated" food, awesome beer, knowledgeable staff and a kick ass jukebox. This brewery knows how to keep me comin' back."
"Excellent food, fantastic service and great price! My husband and I hired Stella's Pizza Pie for our rock 'n' roll wedding in Feb and it was a hit. We wanted to break away from the traditional style of wedding catering and do something more fun, unique and true to our personality. We still get compliments on how awesome our food was! Amy and Gina were very helpful throughout our entire planning process and we are so grateful to have found this catering company."
"Every time I'm in town I stop here for breakfast. Their bagels are delicious, warm and reasonably priced. I had the Golden breakfast bagel with bacon. Really good and they slice it in half ! I wish I had ordered the bagel toasted. The shop is conveniently located next to a chain coffee shop."
"Happy Hour ReviewLocated in the heart of Banker's Hill, across the street from Balboa Park and a restauranteur icon that is also layered with San Diego History. You will leave happy if partakng in this quiet low light happy hour iconic lounge. The restaurant is on the left side the lounge is on the right side.No frills HH and still only two 13inch TV's. Happy Hour is underrated. But the food, prices and choices are good. Sure there may be one waitress but she is quick to respond and take care of your needs. You must def check it out. "So happy to see MHPC is open! This place truly gives me joy. Whether is the delicious assortment of pastries, salads or sandwiches, I'm always satisfied with my purchases. However, what truly makes this place special is Myra! She's so amazing and friendly.Thank you MHPC"
"It was cold, it was raining and I was getting over a cold. I wanted soup. I had just exited Food 4 Less (where no quality soup was to be found) and was walking back to my truck when I spotted Khao San Thai on the other end of the parking lot. I dropped my purchases at my truck and headed straight for Khao San Thai. Like a ship following a lighthouse beacon. I knew there was soup to be had.I walked in and was greeted by a very pleasant young woman. She took my order: One large Tom Yum Soup: hot and sour soup with lemon grass, mushroom, tomato, chili paste, lime juice and cilantro sprinkles, I added chicken as my protein. $10.95 no upcharge for chicken. The conatiner was quite large. Enough for both Becky and I to have for dinner and for Becky's lunch the next day.It was delicious. Perfectly hot and perfectly sour. A v e r y generous portion of chicken was added. Thankfully the tomatoes were in huge chunks and easily discarded. I loved the addition of mushrooms. I hate rain. With a passion. The Tom Yum soup from Khao San Thai took a little of the sting out of the shitty weather."
"When you go to the ballpark to catch a game, you'd normally guess food options would consist of burgers, hotdogs and chips. Not at Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres! Here, you can find a little bit of everything. Mostly from local favorites, bacon wrapped hot dogs, nachos and loaded fries are some of the basics. Freshly prepared sushi, is something you'd never dream of seeing at a ballgame unless you're in one of the high end seating areas. Nope, Negihama Sushi brings a whole new meaning to ballpark faire!I found one location on the field level concourse behind home plate. Not sure if there are other spots located throughout the stadium. The line wasn't too long but there was a bit of a wait to receive your order. I noticed 2 chefs preparing rolls, one on each side of the order taker. They were both moving at a good pace preparing orders as they came in. Seemed like they were behind about 6-8 orders being prepared after the order was taken. The rolls themselves were really fresh! My only concern was that they left the seeds in fresh jalapeño slices in the roll which made each bite so hot, it felt like my mouth was bursting into flames! Other than my tongue melting, the rolls were fresh and delicious!Being on the field level, along with a gazillion other popular food vendors, it was really crowded and noisy. No seating in the immediate area but most take their orders back to their seats. Overall a great option when you're looking for a healthy, non traditional bite to eat at the ballpark. Keep on Yelp'n!"
"We had been wanting to try these guys for the longest time since moving to Eastlake a couple months ago. The food here is bomb! Really happy with every dish we ordered. So glad to have a good Asian place nearby without having to go all the way up to Clairemont! Drinks: -Beer on tap: Modelo -$5 bottled Sapporo Apps: -Cucumber salad: smashed cucumbers, tons of minced garlic, soy sauce and vinegar. Def a good idea to order since there aren't many vegetable dishes aside from the fried green beans. Super good and cuts through the rest of the food -Garlic Babyback Ribs: a nice stack of fried ribs. Great garlic flavor and piping hot -Spicy marinated beef: served cold and nice, thick cuts of beef over a bed of julienned cucumber, with even more garlic Mains: -Dandan Noodles with pork: minced pork, sliced cucumbers, all on a bed of noodles and a delicious sauce -Shrimp fried rice: a heaping mound of fried rice and succulent and plentiful shrimp. I typically don't get rice with my meals but def a welcome addition to the meal this time Small place but really friendly service and delicious food. Happy to add these guys to our local Eastlake Rolodex!"
"LOVE this place - we are usually the only gringos in the restaurant, it is truly authentic. I go for the fish: the fried mojarro is fantastic - crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, no breading at all. The shrimp diablo (I get it "gringo spicy) is quite complex, it is not just a dish loaded with chiles. The ceviches, aquachiles and the tostado loco were all amazing and large. The green sauce on the aquachile verde was addictive, we poured it on other dishes. the tostado has a great variety of perfectly cooked, incredibly fresh seafood and is definitely split-able. The octopus - as either taco filling or on a plate - is better than Oscar's. I haven't had a bad seafood dish there. My meat eating friends come for the carnitas, which you can buy by the pound for takeout. You can pick the regular or the fatty, fried bits which are very decadent! The chicharron prensado is so flavorful and not fatty at all. It is like carnitas on steroids. The sides - guac, rice, beans, tortillas - are all standard fare.It is in a bit of a sketchy nabe, but there is dedicated parking right next to the restaurant, so it felt quite safe. On a Sunday, when whole families are chowing down, there is a wonderful atmosphere."
"Sahara has always been a local favorite in Rancho San Diego. I am certain they will be a local favorite in Normal Heights with their delicious eats and friendly customer service. They have several great lunch specials, including the chicken tika wrap I purchased for $8.95, plus $2.95 for a side of hummus and sliced pita bread. The marinaded chicken tika is grilled over an open flame, as a result, you not only get the flavor from the delicious marinade but the flame grill itself. In addition to the great flavor, the chicken was very tender, and the garlic aioli sauce was outstanding with the chicken and lettuce and tomatoes. That being said, I did feel that the wrap needed more ingredients inside. It was very loose. Some yellow basmatic rice inside would of been very nice. They offer food made to order and refrigerated ready meals to go as well. For example, salads, wraps, sandwiches, bowls, and desserts. They are located inside of Height's Market, but do not let that fool you, because they are a full blown restaurant with outside seating. Service is very good."
"I live close by and pass by here all the time, I finally got to try this place out and it's now on my go to list for middle eastern food. The prices are super cheap and you get a lot of food. The lady at the front helping was super nice and helped us through the menu and gave us suggestions. We got the Kebob and shawarma combo platters which comes with rice and a mix salad. We also ordered individual skewers such as the lamb ribs. Everything was so good and flavorful."
"It's our first time at pipes Café Cardiff on Liverpool Drive. We got the pipes burger. It was so good. The fries are great too. They're like steak fries."
"I really love Wolf in the Woods. First off, it's in the middle of nowhere in the Historic Neighborhood of Mission Hills area of San Diego. Just the drive there was intriguing! According to their website, they were voted Best Restaurants 2023 and 2024 Winner by San Diego Magazine. Snippet from their Website:"Our interior is inspired by the legendary folklore and arts of native New Mexico. Long considered very special geographical energy vortex on planet earth. Its rich heritage captured the hearts and imaginations of artists, visionaries and free thinkers drawn to its culture, inspiring desert landscapes and breathtaking sunsets for centuries. Our hope is to convert a little of that magic within these intimate walls nighty, offering passionately Old and New world wines and inspired small plates."My foodie friend had chosen this place for her birthday. We made reservations via the Resy app and voila. All set! Between the 2 of us, we tried:- Charcuterie Board - 3 curated meats, cherry chutney, French grain mustard, cornichons, toast points, baguette, cracker bread- Yellowtail Aguachile - raw yellowtail, avocado, serrano peppers, shallot, micro-cilantro, watermelon radish, wild flowers, olive oil- Carne Adovada - braised pork shoulder, red hatch chili sauce, New Mexican spices, fry bread, cilantro & onion- Duck & The Three Sisters - Maple Leaf Farm's duck breast, squash, green pole beans, sweet corn puree, rioja shallot jus, mustard frill, pomegranate seedsEverything we ordered - we loved. But if we had to rank.....My fave was the Duck, Yellowtail, then Pork Shoulder, and then Charcuterie Board. My foodie friend's faves were Yellowtail, Duck, then Pork Shoulder, and then Charcuterie Board. We both tried their Zero Alcohol Mezcal Mocktail. YUMMY! It was so good. Almost like the real thing that I ordered another Mocktail. Service was quick and efficient. The restaurant doesn't have a lot of space inside, so the tables are small. Food is meant to be shared. Ambiance was cute. Loved the experience!ENJOY!"
"10/10!This place does not disappoint. Such a random location but happy to have found it!The employees were super nice and let us know it would be about a 35 min wait (now I know why). They take their time, there's a long line of people waiting, and they don't make just a "sandwich". They make a SANDWICH. I got the veggie supreme and it was like layer on top of layer of veggies, cheese, and sauces. They truly pile it and take their time laying down those layers. Go during an "off time" if you don't want want to wait too long or call ahead to place an order."

ooh yum. It's a small very humble mom and pop fast food chinese shop. randomly came by via yelp in search of cheap, tasty chinese food that wasn't panda express or that other place with the horse in front. It's located behind the Miramar McDonalds (near pyramid and across taco bell plaza) and plenty of parking. Caution since a lot of trucks drive in and out of the area. The restaurant folks are still barricaded down from all things covid. It's a heart aching set up that distances customers from entering so folks can order at the door while the owners can work their magic behind the scenes. Ordered a #1 and the #10? (Kungpao Shrimp) to go. Each plate $10 + $11.. a little high but understandable given the current economic status. It's legit a mom and pop s definitely worth supporting.#1 is the one to order.. the bbq pork is SO yummy.. decent salt and pepper wings and a lot of rice. Definitely would order another helping of the pork next time i come. The kungpao shrimp wasn't spicy at all but it had a lot of good veggies, a decent gravy, YUMMY mein and pretty solid fried rice. It is a good amount of food and fresh tasting. Definitely see myself coming back again. Hubs and I had a good fill on the food and didn't feel like poop after either. When you have a hankering for chinese take out this is the place to come by. I'm actually craving the char shieu .. I also found it comforting that there were a lot of other chinese folks dining here for the quick and easy eats. Not bad for lunch! Will be back and go support your small businesses!!

The Steve's Steak SandwichThis is a flavor-packed sandwich! The steak is super tender and the chimichurri has a good amount of garlic! Has a nice spicy kick to it that helps cut through the oils in the chimichurri, and all wrapped up in a nicely toasted torta! The seasoned fries also just makes it a great sidekick to the sandwich. My personal suggestion? Wish it was bigger because it's so bomb!! Definitely recommend this spot for a quick lunch!

So happy I finally got to check this place out. It's a house turned into a cafe/restaurant. Plenty of seating outside surrounded by plants. Staff are super sweet. I loved the prosciutto toast. It hit so many flavor notes; salty, sweet, savory but all balanced well. My favorite part was the burrata. To drink, I ordered a hot horchata latte. I'd definitely get it again! Knocked off one star because my friends steak sandwich took about 20+ minutes to arrive. Other than that - everything was great. I'll be back for sure

Just discovered this cute coffee shop right around the corner of my house. I was really excited to try it out. Great coffee selection and lots of options. Pastries are delicious. Had a bread pudding while I had my coffee there. Really enjoyed my coffee and the chill ambiance. It's cute, chic, "instagram picture"kind of coffee shop but the most important thing is that the coffee tastes great too. Definitely coming back tomorrow lol and possibly every day before work.

Smokin Js BBQ is a go-to spot in Miramar, especially if you're craving some good BBQ vibes. My girlfriend and I hit it up during a laid-back movie night with Harry Potter, and we didn't hold back on the food front.Props to them for having a vegetarian option - we went for the fried shrooms and jackfruit. Fried shrooms took the lead for me, offering that satisfying crunch and a soft, tasty core. Paired up with their homemade BBQ sauces, one classic and the other packing a spice punch, it was a flavor explosion. And let's not forget the fries - a serious treat with a capital T.For the main deal, I went for the TV dinner brisket with a pork belly add-on. Two sides came with it, so I rolled with beans and Mac n cheese balls. Those Mac n cheese balls? Crispy magic on the outside, smothered in melted cheese. The beans played the savory and sweet game just right. The brisket? Nailed it in terms of seasoning and cooking, but the crispy pork belly stole the spotlight - tender, crispy, and a dance partner with the BBQ sauce.Big shoutout to our server - super nice and had our backs throughout. Plenty of seats, but when the place fills up, be ready to navigate a bit. No doubt, I'll be swinging by for lunch - Smokin Js BBQ is a winner in my book for its chill vibes, tasty eats, and friendly service.

"THICCCCCC CRUST(5 stars) ... eating on a budget.I haven't had Lefty's Chicago Pizzeria since 2013 in San Francisco. It's been existing in SD but have always route my pizza craving to thin crust New York style pizza. But after a recent visit here, I forgot how thiccc pizza has good offerings as well. My second order of TooGoodToGo was from this place. My surprise bag was $3.99. Parking was extremely difficult due to its location being in North Park aka No Park. But they were on time with prepping the pickup. My surprise bag... in this case, my surprise box came with (3) slices of pizza. At first I thought it was one pizza, then I saw two, and then I saw three! 2 deep dish and 1 regular. The crust here is amazing! I could eat the crust by itself - drizzle some honey to cut some of the acidity from the tomato sauce and eat it with the crust. PEPPERONI DEEP DISH - yum! It was hard to see the pepperoni as it was deep in the dish. VEGGIE DEEP DISH - yum! Veggie pizza sounds boring BUT all the veggies really shined on this pie. Layers and layers of cheese, pizza sauce, and veggies. CHEESE THIN & CRISPY - it was basic, not super thin but on the thin side. Tasted average. What I liked about the pizza is that it didn't get hard and stale when saving the pizza in the fridge. After a quick warm up the pizza tasted exactly as it should."
"Not related to the chain of San Diego Cotixan taco shops. I was looking for a quick dinner before watching a high school football game at El Cajon Valley High School. This place was close, and the menu looked appetizing. Picked up a California Burrito and Enchiladas. Both were good. I'd come back if we ever end up playing here again.- The restaurant was clean."
"Was recommended to try the Tri-tip Nachos. As far as Nachos go, this was just the right size, ratio of meat, cheese and chips. I would get this again!"
"Great happy hour and good vibes. Came on a Fri around 4 and it wasn't too busy at all. You order at the bar and then take a seat anywhere. I love how many options they have on happy hour. Mostly cocktails but a rotating beer option as well. I got Rome with a view which was like a lighter negroni. Very tasty. Also got the mojito which was just ok. Not minty enough for me."
"We have been meaning to try this place out for the food. We have come for the cigar lounge and that experience is great. I saw this place highlighted on Fox 5 San Diego News a few months back, so I purchased a our guest voucher to use and to dine here.Today we decided to stop by for the Cinco de Mayo afternoon. They had birria specials, margaritas, palomas, and a live DJ 4-7p. We walked in and there was no host nor hostess at the first two guest check-in counters. As we stood inside at the second one, the waitstaff informed us that it was open seating. It was about 3p when we checked in, and there was only one other party of about 8 dining at a bar height table. We chose a table situated where we could see the Padres Game. It had crumbs on it, so I took a napkin from the stack in the table centerpiece and wiped it down while my husband used the restroom. Our server came over to ask us if we would like water or drinks. She was super Customer service oriented and also told us the Cinco De Mayo Specials. We ordered 2 waters and a regular margarita, on the rocks. We had time to look over the menu on our phones, it is a QR code at the table. We had Mexican Food on Taco Tuesday earlier this week so we tried items off of their regular menu. We ordered: The BLT + Turkey Sando with fries and the Chopped Cheese Sando with potato barrels (tater tots). I did not enjoy my margarita, so I asked the server for a Stone Delicious IPA to replace it. I normally never send anything back to the bar nor the kitchen, but it was just not in me to down this margarita. I also wanted the bartender to know that it did not taste well prepared. As a former bartender, it was almost an insult to have this served to me. It was as if the splash end (1 oz) of the batch that sat out all day was thrown in a glass of ice with a salted rim. The flavor was not lime, nor tequila, it was a "nasty-rita" as we used to say when I was tending bar. It is CINCO DE MAYO, please don't rob us of the good fresh drinks on this spectacular day of celebration. My Stone Delicious IPA on draft came out fine, and our food was pretty good. My Chopped Cheese Sando was cooked hamburger meat with melted american cheese chopped into it. It tasted like a fresh Big Mac on a fresh submarine bread roll, very good! I will say that I almost ordered a bottled beer or canned beverage only because I was worried the bartender would get insulted and do something bad to my drink for the reorder. Our server was super professional and kind about me sending the margarita back. She made me feel at ease about it. The Cookie Sundae was DELICIOUS. We asked them to put the ice cream on the side. The whole thing was so yummy! Overall, I may hesitate to order a drink here again. The staff is super friendly though and if I return, it would be because of the serving staff's hospitality."
"We had Frsh Pizza out for a birthday party for about 20 people, and it was really wonderful. Pizza and pretzels are delicious, and the guys could not be more nice and fun. I highly recommend for private catering, they were great to work with."
"Delicious pizza at grandstand Pizza go see Gus he will make you the best pizza. Absolutely delicious!"
"Food was nice and hot not as flavorful as I though it would be the food don't look nothing like the items pictured onlineWhen you think of Diablo you think spicy but the pasta I received didn't taste spicy whatsoever and had no chipotle flavor"
"Cute little spot adjacent to Rambler Motel Lobby. I had ordered breakfast herr before heading out to Sesame Place in the morning. What I loved about this place is obviously the 40 % discount for the hotel guests. Breakfast bagel, latte and breakfast plate came out less than $20 with the discount. Now the food, I had to say it was kinda bland. My husband did not like the fact they microwave their bagels and eggs. They also did not offer any ketchup. Overall, mediocre food but cute ambiance."
"While browsing the street vendor offerings just outside, the smell of delicious crepes drew us in...that and the sign for a bagel and cream cheese with a cup of drip coffee. Sign us up!Inside, I could not get enough of the beautiful cherry blossom tree décor. That small touch really changes the entire ambience of the place. And the lights that shine on them bring a whole new level to the look. I really like it!They serve fresh crepes as well as gelato. My wife's bagel had a very generous amount of cream cheese-she ended up scraping about a third of it off, which was a little wasteful but there is too much of a good thing, I'm told. Since we were here early in the day, we weren't up to trying gelato, but it all looked good-maybe on another day we'll stop by and try it out."
"Hot Honey (red pie with mozzarella, hot honey, pepperoni, and jalapeño) is where it's at if you like sweet with your heat! Pies are thin crust and coal-fired as - let's be honest - all pizza should be, and oversized for good measure. My one complaint is that the crust is almost *too* thin - risking sogginess if you don't devour your pie immediately. Eat up and don't bother taking home leftovers!"
"This is a great little coffee kiosk. Even though it was not on the menu, the young ladies working here made me the cortado I wanted. They use a local coffee roaster called "Torque Coffee." The cortado was terrific. It had a great robust coffee flavor and had a great smoothness from beginning to end. I liked it very much. The kiosk offers a variety of espresso based beverages, teas, and baked goods, not to mention a breakfast sandwich made with bagels for $6 and acai bowls for $7. My cortado was only $4.They offer a few tables outside in front of the kiosk. The service was super friendly and welcoming."
"We were around Oceanside for dinner and wanted to wrap up with some desserts. Found this place right across and there was a long wait line. I immediately checked the reviews to be prepared and every review mentioned they take 20-30mins and are kind of slow. We knew what to expect and waited for 20 min to place an order and another 20 min to get the order. They have two kinds of menu rolled ice cream and teyiaki soft serve. Rolled ice cream takes longer and Teyiaki is a little faster. We went with chocolate hazelnut for rolled ice cream and mango with Mexican caramel filling for the Teyiaki. They are slow because this ice cream is not premade, it's made fresh and takes time. However, they probably can have more people working. Anyhow, the soft serve is really good and we enjoyed the rolled ice-cream too. The presentation was nice but didn't like the whipped cream or the syrups, the ice-creams in itself was pretty good. The pricing is alright, but the service needs work."
