Michael C. "ahhh...social media finds...Most of the time Social Media is not the best thing, but sometimes it can reveal some hidden gems. I caught a clip on IG of a local Palestinian spot in SJ...at least that's what the short vid claimed. I was intrigued...I'm not familiar with Palestinian food. I had to give it a try. Apparently this is their second location, there is another is in Walnut Creek. I'm familiar with the location of this venue. Former home to Sultan Bakery, which I did not find impressive...regardless of the high ratings. Parking is challenging in that area, luckily I snagged a spot on the street in front of the restaurant. There is a decent amount of seating inside and an outdoor seating area as well. Bright, Clean and inviting, they definitely redid the interior. #MediterraneanEats:~ MANAKISH FLATBREADS: - Lahn-bajin - 4/5I wasn't so sure what was classified as a Flatbread, looks like a pizza to me. But you'll understand when you bite into it. It's different, almost like a think crust NY pizza. A good amount of beef in it, heartier and heavier that it looks. ~ FATTEH BOWLS: - Chicken Shwarma (w/ Half and Half) - 4/5A good size bowl. We opted for the Half and Half option...best of both worlds; Salad & Rice. Generous portions! The Bowl had a good amount of food, Juicy flavorful Chicken with Creamy Humus...delish! ~ DESSERT: - Cheese Kanafeh - 4/5I was a bit bummed out they didn't have Ice Cream. This would have been amazing with some Ice Cream...not that it wasn't already brilliant! It would transcend to the next level. I originally wanted a Falafel bowl, but they were out of Falafels. Oh well, next time! Very satisfied with the food we ordered, now I'll just need to come back and try the rest of menu."

Turkish coffee is amazingly fragrant but super strong. If you are used to needing cream in your coffee, you might need a bottle of cream. Just pour the coffee directly in the cream bottle."

My husband had a pasta with marinara and chicken which he liked but thought the chicken a bit dry. My pasta with clams was light but a tad salty. Still good. The focaccia was light and amazing. We bought a medium cheese pizza for our picky teen who said midst first bite "damn, I should've gone with you." Then ate over half despite having dinner an hour before. Staff is warm and friendly. We ate in their tiny restaurant and it was clean and cozy. Definitely coming back."

Kanika K. "This place is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. The staff is nice and helpful and the service is decently fast too. The plate's portion size was a bit small and I wish it had more chicken kebab on there. Wraps were a decent size though! The lebneh and signature sofra bread was to die for! The ambiance is simple and befitting for a place that's an affordable midweek dinner or lunch place. Wouldn't mind trying a couple more items from their menu another time. Also, their black tea is pretty good and serves about 3-4 people at once. The place is next to a smart and final and has some street parking too. No reservations needed. Only giving it 4 stars as the portion size could have been a bit larger for the price we paid."

Dave K. "This is based on my first visit to the *new* Cetrella since they changed locations, moving from the corner of Main and First to the State Street market. There is a new chef and overall I think the food is even better than before. The pate is more of a mousse but very good, as was the vichysoisse, and the burrata (with plenty of salad that came with it). The steaks were very good and the salmon made my mother-in-law (a tough customer) ecstatic. The basque cake (roughly a cheesecake) was very good as was the sorbet. So, net, on the food -- it's even better than before though I do miss a few of the old menu items (e.g., the mussels, beignets, and the simply-grilled mains). The service was and is remains wonderful. The owner gets to know his guests and takes care of them. The servers were and are amazing. The ambiance is different, it's a bit more compact, the tables are a bit closer together, the noise level is similar. So at the first order, I'd say different. At the second order, I'd say better -- i.e., it's lighter and a bit more modern and I can't wait for the Spring/Summer when they can use lovely patio area.Overall a great visit."

John D. "Turkish DelightFormerly located at the Bowers Plaza on El Camino, Garlic Mediterranean has been serving up Turkish food since 2016. They've been in these current digs for ±2 years and are one of the few restaurants serving up legit Turkish cuisine in the South Bay.The Good:*Friendly service*Fast-casual order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. *In the same strip mall as Stan's Donuts (IYKYK)*Large shared parking lot*Clean, modern décor and I'm a fan of their branding. *Pricing is well in-line with portion size*They actually have their meat on a vertical rotisserie (aka spit) which doesn't seem like much, but to me this is an important sign, to me at least. *Saw reviews mentioning the Ayran (aka "yoghurt drink") and I decided to give it a whirl. It's only three ingredients: yogurt, water, and salt, but the taste was actually quite refreshing.*Carissa enjoyed her Greek salad with added chicken Gyro meat, and actually had a hard time finishing it. Luckily I'm always around to clean her plate. *oink oink* :8)*I'd never seen or heard of an Iskender Kebab before, but after the lady at the counter informed me of what it was, I knew I had to try it. It's their combo lamb-beef dönner meat served over pita and topped with a tomato sauce and served with a heaping helping of yogurt. This dish was stupendous! The meat was juicy and flavorful and the tomato sauce was earthy and sweet, the perfect foil for the unctuos meat. But, I'll have to say, my favorite part was the yogurt that brought everything together into one harmonious bite. The Meh:*Standard two-top outdoor seating. Nothing really special but it gets the job done. The Ugly:*This is huge pet peeve of mine, but I really don't like when they put olives with pits in them in salads. #1 it makes no sense and #2 they're opening themselves up to a customer busting their teeth biting into one. Ask me how I know it's possible. 0_o Conclusion: Fantastic Turkish food at a great price point in a pleasant and relaxing environment."

The food overall was decent, except that the Tzatziki sauce served as part of the plate the sauteed eggplant dish had a bitter / sour taste, perhpas because they were stale and on the verge of going bad. The falafels were fried fresh. The pita bread was warm as well. Seems like they don't make everything very fresh. Only 1 other customer besides me on a friday afternoon. So good I fact that I didn't take any food pics because I was to busy devouring all the food! Loved the decor and the open concept. Huge bar that runs the length of the restaurant and I noticed a cute dining area upstairs in a loft like setting. My only issue was the beautiful high ceilings caused the noise level to be pretty high so if you visit in hopes of a quiet romantic setting, this probably isn't it. Service was flawless! I felt like we had 2 if not 3 weight staff taken care of us at all times. One of our guests got up to use the restroom and placed his napkin on the table. The server came right over, folded his napkin and placed it neatly on the back of his chair. That's great service. As for the food ... outstanding! Absolutely everything was not only tasty but presented beautifully. We ordered 4 different appetizers and each one was mouthwatering. Since I didn't order, I'm not sure what each dish I was called. My favorite though was a yogurt topped with eggplant and tomatoes served with this AMAZING bread. I could literally eat that and be happy. We all had different main dishes and desserts and every single one of us walked away saying how excellent everything was. Will I be back? Ten thousand percent!! 10 out of 10 for me!!"

Barbara S. "I have only been here once, and it was for a party of around 80 people, in the outdoor patio. It was a catered buffet meal and open bar. I loved the outdoor patio. It is covered with grape vines above, and there is a beautiful large waterfall pond in the corner, and an electric fire that was on as it got dark out, as well as little lights strung all over the lattice ceiling. There were a few leaves dropping from above and we saw two possums climbing up the grape vines to the latticed rooftop, but overall, it was a beautiful setting, for an enjoyable evening. The patio area was large enough to accommodate the originally planned 130 people, so it is a great place to hold a party, a bridal or baby shower, or just a meal out with a friend. The service was excellent. We had pitchers of lemon water on our tables, which is likely not the norm with a regular meal, but it was refreshing on a hot evening. The staff were taking away used dishes and glasses, almost before you could be finished, but they were very efficient. The buffet meal was delicious. We had carved roast beef with a sour cream/horseradish sauce, Chicken Bernardo with broccoli, tomatoes, garlic, and parmesan, penne pasta with marinara sauce, tortellini (which wasn't brought out in time, so I didn't taste that), sides of mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, and salad, which were all very tasty, and appetizers of a cheese & meat board, which were supposed to have candied walnuts, which I didn't see. Overall, especially for a buffet meal for so many people, I thought the food we had was delicious, filling, and very satisfying. The bar was just indoors from the patio. They only had one bartender for a while, which was not enough for so many people. Another came out about a half hour later. They had a wide variety of wines, and also served mixed cocktails. They made a nice Old Fashioned drink, which, by tasting someone elses, does matter what kind of bourbon is used, but was a throwback in time for me, and enjoyable. There was a glassed in room right off the patio with a very long table, for another group's gathering. Plus the rest of the interior of the restaurant; so they are capable of having multiple celebrations at once, seem to be efficient with their service, and, while a couple of small glitches, seemed an ideal place to me to hold a party, gathering, or just have a nice ambience for a meal out. A friend next to me said she frequently ate there for meals. For my one time of being there, which I wasn't paying for, it was a very enjoyable evening in a beautiful and peaceful environment, with very tasty food. I would recommend it for a gathering, and am very willing to go back to try it for a regular meal."
