Mimi will rock your baking expectations. She provided custom designed nutter butter referee and football shaped (various faces) cookies for a corporate event (September 2018). They arrived individually wrapped and boxed with a lovely mini gold twist tie, clear cellophane.Her design/icing work is impeccable. Very easy to work with. Pricing is within the range of average. She delivers. And is so incredibly nice and professional.I would recommend her for a corporate or personal event without hesitation. She books up fast so don't hesitate if you need fancy sweets.

I absolutely love love Mimi!! I fell in love with her and her pineapple macarons! It was love at first bite! She was test running them, and she gave a sample to my cousin. He brought them over and shared with me. I was bummed that I didn't get to have some at my cousin's wedding where they had a dessert bar. I decided long ago that I would order the pineapple macarons for my next event, which happened to be my bridal shower. I ordered pineapple and passion fruit macarons for our Hawaiian luau themed bridal shower. I had the perfect mint stand that would go perfect with the pastel colored macarons. It looked awesome in the dessert bar set up! I ordered way over 100 macarons for our shower! I should have ordered more. It was such a hit!! So many people came up to me to ask where I got them from. They all commented on how delicious they were! I had to hide some to save for myself because I I didn't have time to eat them. I saw one guest grab 2 bags full of macarons!! Who does that?!? I was so upset! It's fine if you have a few or a handful, but 2 bags! That's how good they are!! I highly recommend Mimi and her work! She's super responsive, easy to work with, and produces quality work. Her work speaks for herself! She's super talented and she's super sweet! Mimi's macarons will be a recurring staple at every party I throw! Pineapple for sure! It's the best! Trust me.

Mimi was awesome to work with -- so fast to respond to all my questions, had great recommendations, was very collaborative, and is beyond fair with pricing (the quality of cake and service I received felt like a steal compared to the other bakeries that quoted me). As for the superhero-themed birthday cake I ordered, besides being sooo delicious -- the design was absolute perfection. Everyone at the party gushed over it. And perhaps most importantly, my son felt so special the moment he saw it. I look forward to working with Mimi again in the future!

Two weeks after my niece's spectacular birthday cake showcase, I order another cake from Gold Leaf Confections for my girlfriend's birthday. She's the cutesy type: very sweet, caring and loves simple yet nice things. I consulted with Mimi (head baker) on this cake and we agreed that a 3-tier white fondant cake with simple decorations and a beautiful flower on the top will do the trick. My girlfriend loved her cake so much she would not let us eat it. seriously! I was so looking forward to another delicious GLC (gold leaf confection) experience of euphoria. So she ended up taking the cake home and just keeping it her frig to stare at - I wish I was joking about this but I sh*t you not. After a few days of begging her to cut her cake and share she finally did about 5 days later. Her exact words were "Omg that cake is soooo good!" I thought it would be good for a day or two but 5 days and it still tastes amazing. I am literally more popular with my friends and sister's friends now that I've used GLC for parties. My sister's friends that I don't even know well are calling me for Mimi's contact info.

We had Mimi make some custom decorated ice cream cone cookie pops for my boy's birthday party favors. Her cookies look awesome and taste as good as they look. I won't lie. I ordered extra ones and instead of giving extras to the kids, I ate them all my damn self. Her double chocolate cake was delicious too.You should check out the artistic detail in her work. I swear to god some of her stuff looks real. Like that princess tiara on pink pillow cake she made for my daughter, are you kidding me? That must have taken forever.

Gold Leaf provided our wedding cake- three tiers of white cake with fresh strawberry filling wrapped artistically in fondant and with several sheet cakes of lemon chiffon for the rest of our 400 guests. First, Lena was great to work with. Friendly, chill, and straight-forward. She returned all my calls and emails promptly. The delivery of the cake was also on-time. My husband and I requested for a light, asian-like quality cake- not too sweet, and did we get that perfect taste but with the elegant fondant. He had given Lena our wedding invitation so that she could draft a cake that complimented it. Gold Leaf did- delicate vines interspersed with coral and blushing pink petals of our invitation (and the theme of our rose garden wedding) were replicated onto the cake. The cake's presentation was beautiful, with a phenomenal quality and taste. Normally, my experience with fondant is- this is pretty but it tastes like sugary play-dough or plastic at best. Not so with Gold Leaf's cakes, the fondant was like a light marshmallow with a thin candy shell coating. The cake texture was light yet rich, and the filling was equally light but balanced with what would seem the natural sweetness of a ripe May strawberry.Yes, it was that good that I took a quarter of our 2nd tier to Maui with us. And surprisingly, the cake didn't get stale. It certainly wasn't as fresh as our wedding day, but man, that was still excellent cake.My husband does not have a sweet too but when I told him that I'm writing this review said, "OMG- the best cake EVER." He's excited for our anniversary next month so we can get to that top tier.

Talk about doing a business a disservice. I have used Gold Leaf Confections three times, that's right three times, for custom cakes and cookies and yet I never thought about writing a Yelp review. Shame on me. Well, GLC, here is my two cents.Gold Leaf Confections you are my hero. You guys have made my parties a hit with all my guests. The cakes and cookies you guys make are so good that nobody wants to cut them. The way that you guys are able to custom make any designs on the cakes and make them so lifelike is amazing.1st party: baby shower. I did not give you guys any input on what designs I wanted but clearly you guys did not need any. Just by knowing that it was a baby shower you guys came up with a onesie cake along with matching cookies of onesie, baby bottle, and tiger (for year of the tiger). Needless to say, everyone at the shower awed at the cake and cookies.2nd party: red egg and ginger party. This party I did give you guys some input but you guys surprised me with exceptional details to what I wanted. The theme of the party was baseball and I wanted to have my baby's face on the cake. I also wanted something with a baseball related item. They made a baseball card with my baby's face on it, a baseball cap that I thought was real, AND they also make a replica of AT&T Park...efin AT&T Park, to scale no less. WOW!!! Look at the pictures and you'll know what I mean. Again, nobody wanted me to cut the cake. But, alas, I did to the groans of the entire crowd.3rd party: wife's birthday. My wife wanted a handbag for her birthday. While I was not able to get her the authentic handbag, I surprised her with the next best option, a perfect replica of the Chanel by GLC. Again, the design of the cake was so detailed that on first glance you would sling it over your shoulder. And, did it make the wife happy, YES.4th party: haven't had one yet. But, you can bet that when I do, the cake will be coming from GLC.Oh, and if you are wondering whether the inside of the cake is as good as the outside, the answer is yes.Thanks GLC for always making my parties a hit.

I've hired Mimi to bake my wedding cake in August after I sampled her red velvet with raspberry buttercream and double chocolate with mocha buttercream. They were both unbelievably MOIST! I first tried her double chocolate cake after it was sitting my in friend's fridge for almost a week. It was still good! The fondant probably keep it from drying out. I'm not huge on chocolate, but that cake was delicious! Also, it was sooo pretty!I'm can't wait to eat Mimi's cake again in August. That will be my "treat" for all the horrendous months of eating healthy!

If only I were a man. I would be able to eat cake and not feel guilty. If only I had super metabolism powers, that would allow me to consume calories and fat, without flinching. Sadly, I am not a super human w/ high metabolism, nor a man. 4 days after my birthday, the beautiful cake sat in my refrigerator untouched... the elegant pink rose on top.. the pretty satin ribbon along the tiers. I finally gave in after a long hard days of work. I figured the cake would taste awful since it looked so AMAZING. Little did I know that it was so rich, moist and flavorful.. I finished an entire tier to myself. I have never had a cake that TASTED good and looks AMAZING. What I kept thinking in the back of my mind.. if this cake tastes this good, 4 days later.. I wonder how much MORE better it would've tasted... seriously, I don't think it could of been any better. I have nothing bad to say at all about the cake. IT was perfect... I never had a wedding cake, so when the cake was presented to me I had tears in my eyes. It looked just like a mini wedding cake, and designed just perfectly for me! My gal pal was so sweet to give the cake to me for my birthday.. and I will always remember the warm fuzzy feeling it gave me.. and I will always remember the moist chocolate taste in my mouth.... Mmmmm...

Mimi was such a pleasure to work with. I hired them to do my son's red egg and ginger party. We did a cake topper and below cupcakes. The cake and cupcakes not only looked amazing, but they tasted amazing. The presentation was so well done, all my guest took pictures at the dessert table.I will be calling Mimi the next time I have a big event.
