"Overall I would say 4.5/5 stars because of 2 things: 1) a couple of the dishes were lackluster in the omakase course 2) our server didn't really explain our dishes; however, the table next to us who had a different server had elaborate explanations of the same dishes regarding taste profile and what suggested order to eat in.The best dish of the night would be the lobster tail and sweet corn. Normally my partner and I aren't a fan of corn, but man this was amazing, it was sweet, it was tangy, it was citrusy, 10/10. But above that was the lobster, if I were to come back I would order 5 plates of those. That citrus butter sauce had me drowning that lobster tail and going back for more.Regarding the other dishes in the meal, there was some standard sashimi, some squid ink? pancakes type of dish with creme fraishe and ikura(was lackluster in flavor, it felt like everything was a very neutral flavor, like someone was tasting the color gray). The steak was mayhaps 7.5/10, a little too sweet for me on the marinade, but paired well with the accompanied chili sauce."
"Original Joe's never lets me down. I absolutely adore this place. Is the wait long? Yes. Are there tourists swarming? Yes. But, both those mentions no longer bother me now that I've found the perfect watering hole across the street to have a few while waiting, Tony Nik's. North Beach is alive and it's exciting to see people out and about again. Original Joe's seems to always be a solid meeting hub and spot to dine with groups or gals. Original Joe's has also shared memories of wedding rehearsals, work dinners, and countless post-Giant game moments. Love the old school Italian vibes here, photos that adorn the walls, and dim lighting. Menu-wise ~ the warm sourdough bread and Original Joe's branded butter, house red wine, the chicken parm with side of pasta/signature marinara, cacio e pepe, and butter cake to finish it all off...perfection! The spaghetti and meatballs and Caesar are also solid. These dishes are not for those ready for a bikini shoot next day, rather shareable/family style. Although not going to lie, while pregnant, the chicken parm was not shared :)The tastes, textures, flavors, menu is so comforting and familiar. Not a spot easy on the wallet, but definitely one for the books. Staff just like famiglia."

"My kids have music class across the street and we often smell the delicious barbeque when we are done with our classes. I have visited this place before COVID, during COVID, and now after COVID. Our experience has been fairly consistent. Staffs are always friendly and they always keep the meat coming! My kids love their filet mignon! And their steaks are always my favorite. Anything with garlic is perfect for garlic lovers!! but recently I tried their chicken wings on one night...and honestly, how come they don't put their wings on takeout menu? They should since they have the prefect wings for the game day (especially if you are bored with the wings offerings from another chain wings specialty store...). The skin is crispy with all the seasoning and the meat is juicy. Their dessert menu is not the strong area - they are OK and I would only order them if you have a special celebration. I like their flan. The chocolate cake is just ok - feel premade but the ice-cream is really good. So usually I just stuff myself with their grilled pineapples (and in my Asian's mind, that's viewed as dessert. haha!) and let my stomach digest a little bit before having dessert elsewhere. Parking is relatively easy ever since COVID. And surprisingly, the restaurant is still decently full on the weeknights too! If you want to avoid crowd over the weekends, see if you could come on Thursday night :)"
"I really enjoy this food because of the atmosphere and delicious food.I've been here quite a few times for birthday dinners, date nights and when friends are visiting from out of town. They have a great selection on the menus.Great to share family style/Tapas. You get more bang for the buck and the ability to try more of the menu. The drinks are delicious as well.Sometimes it can be quite busy so I would recommend making a reservation."
"Almost as good as House of Prime Rib! I was able to make reservations with no issues and no wait. The restaurant is located in downtown San Mateo. Parking can be difficult depending on timing of the evening. I think it was the Owner that constantly checked on us during dinner. He was very friendly. It was my birthday and they offered a complimentary tiramisu. My husband and I enjoyed the food. The only difference between this place and HOPR is the entertainment from servers mixing salad and etc.Overall I will definitely come back!"
"Came here for NYE dinner with a friend. We both ordered the prime rib. I let the waitress know that I also wanted to order something to-go, but that I would tell her later in the evening. She insisted I tell her now and she'd take care of it, and so I did. We were quickly served bread, and our food followed shortly after. The bread comes with a side of butter and balsamic+oil. The prime rib and the accompanying side dishes were perfectly cooked. The prime rib paired with the au jus was *chef's kiss*. For dessert, I ordered the famous mud pie, while my friend ordered the crème brûlée. The mud pie was okay. I was disappointed there wasn't a thicker crust. It was essentially a large plate of ice cream with whipped cream and fudge. The creme brûlée was also okay. It was made with white chocolate and would've been more well-balanced if it came with more fruit. Now here is the kicker. We get the bill and notice the to-go order was not on it. I tell our waitress and she goes to get it fixed. Well, it turns out she completely forgot to place the order and by then, the kitchen had already closed down. This is why I initially said i would personally let her know about my to-go item later, but she insisted I tell her at the beginning. Aside from a simple apology, there was no other attempt at service recovery. That food was meant to be a NYE meal for someone who now had to ring in the new year on an empty stomach. Not to mention, by that hour, it was impossible for me to find an appropriate alternative elsewhere. The food is good, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. I will not be coming back a second time."
"Full disclosure: we took advantage of their free brunch promo today only. And we came for brunch last weekend because we had a gift certificate, and before that it was probably a few years between visits. But we really need to come more often. At our previous visit we had the Sixteen Mile Deviled Eggs to start and each egg had a different fun little protein topping. I loved the one with steak and the smoked salmon. Presentation was lovely.Today we ordered the Swedish pancake starter. There was a berry syrup drizzle which was not my kind of thing, too candy-like, but my husband liked it. The lingonberry butter was very nice.My husband got their Kobe Loco Moco both visits because it was so delicious. The Kobe patty was cooked perfectly. The gravy was amazing; I kept trying to figure out what made it so good--maybe a French onion kind of flavor? So deeply beefy with notes of caramelized onion. Last visit I got Sixteen Benedict, because filet mignon is always a good choice, which was good in theory. I thought the sauce was too thick but the flavor was good. The little bit of sprouts on top helped balance the richness but I would've enjoyed more sprouts or greens to balance. The side dish was tater tots and they were very crispy. Today I had Stable Steak & Eggs because I love steak. The 6 oz ribeye was perfectly char grilled. I could've used some seasoning. Eggs were good. Tater tots were consistently crispy and tasty. Both times, I took home most of my tots and my daughter immediately devoured them.My husband had to take home half of his loco moco each time because it was a huge quantity. And he actually ate the leftovers, which is a big deal because he usually forgets about his restaurant leftovers and doesn't eat them.To summarize, the star is definitely Kobe Loco Moco. Everything else is good, but I can't get that Loco Moco out of my head."
"Is there a better margarita? I don't think so. I live nearby and this is absolutely a gem of a place. The widest tequila selection I've ever seen and a house recipe that is simple but compliments the taste of tequila. The chips and salsa are also incredible. I typically come for the margaritas but the food portions are also very generous and the chips and salsa definitely hit the spot.Check this place out if you are in the neighborhood or are just seeking the best margarita in the world"
"First time at HOPR and we had a great experience. We had our reservations booked 9 months in advance. I suggest arriving about 20 mins early to find parking. Street parking was limited on Sunday evening so you may need to park a bit further or do valet. We were served bread and butter right as we were seated. I was told to not fill up on the appetizers but I couldn't resist. The warm bread and butter combo was so good! Salad was great as well and had the perfect amount of dressing. I love that you also get a table side performance too. My husband and I both ordered the King Henry Cut, medium and medium rare. We got both of ours seared but it ended up being overcooked, which we should've took into consideration when ordering. If you plan on getting it seared, I recommend getting it one level down. The meat was still very tender and seasoned perfectly. All the sides complimented the meal. The creamed spinach was a bit too salty in my opinion. I personally liked the corn more. Half spinach and half corn is an extra $2.Our server was Ben and he was friendly but service could've been a bit better. He seemed really busy and didn't check up on us that often. I overheard him explaining to another table the ingredients for the salad and asked if they were celebrating a special occasion but he didn't do that for our table. My husband also finished his slice and wanted to order a second but he never stopped by nor did he ask when he did. Only offered us dessert but we were too full by then. We got our sides and leftovers packed. Be sure to take the bone with you if you ordered the King Henry cut! Although pricey, this place is a good treat for special occasions and worth trying at least once."
"We had our 11 yo daughter's birthday party there and it was absolutely perfect for them!!! 9 friends sat around a u-shaped Hibachi while the chef kept them entertained with antics. The food was yummy, but what really made it for me was the wonderful Maria, who could not have been nicer as we planned and emailed back and forth. She's a true gem and I hope management will keep her!!!"
"Great service. Great food. Meat lovers rejoice. This is paradise. Skip the salad bar. You'll need all the space in your stomach for the infinite meat servings you'll devour. Servers continuously bring large selections of perfectly cooked (medium rare for me) all-you-can-eat meat sliced at your table. The only drawback is the weight you'll gain."
"My friends & I had never tried a Brazilian steakhouse before, and honestly this was the perfect place to have our first experience. All of the meats were top notch quality, and when people say they constantly bring you meat until you tell them not to, they aren't kidding. Your plate will never be empty and you will never not be eating. The service here is unmatched, and the ambiance is right in the middle of casual and fancy, so you can come here for really any occasion. There is a side bar with plenty of other options, like salads, pastas, potatoes, & fish. My one regret is probably getting too many things at the side bar that filled me up, but I was still able to try all the meats I wanted to. Anyone in the area or visiting should for sure give them a try, you won't be disappointed!"

Last dinner of 2024, we decided to check out Original Joes in North Beach. For starters, we went with the fried calamari and a Caesar salad. The fried calamari was pretty tasty, done well, I'd ask for it extra crispy next time though. The cocktail sauce was horseradish heavy, which I prefer, so if that's not your thing, use lightly. The Caesar was good but probably wouldn't rush to order again. We split an order and our server offered to split it in on two separate plates which was much appreciated. For the mains, I went with the roasted prime rib. Ngl, I had high hopes bc I saw something on IG about it but I found it to be just alright. The crust wasn't super flavorful and the meat was a bit tough. It was a good medium rare and the horseradish and au jus helped a ton. It came with a side of mashed potatoes and cream of spinach. I think value wise, it's good bc you get a huge piece of prime rib for $49 but maybe I just got it on an off night. The Irish coffee and espresso martinis were also highlights for me. Both were done really well and tasted great. My partner got the chicken parm with the prosciutto, I found it to be really tasty. It's a huge piece and we were able to take it home and it reheated well. The raviolis on the side are classic, solid side dish. Shout out to our server, (I missed her name) but she was amazing. Very attentive, gave recommendations and made the dining experience worth the visit. We arrived just before 6pm on NYE, and we were able to get a table on the outdoor parklet right away which was a pleasant surprise. The dining room inside is a vibe, but it was 1.5 hour wait. My recommendation would be to grab a reservation ahead of time if it's available.

1st timer at a brazilian steahouse AYCE on valentine's day weekend. Good experience, food bar was clean and stocked but you're here for the meat! I didn't know that for some of the meats you need your own tongs to get the pieces lol. But everything was delicious! They have a small centerpiece thing that lets the meat servers know if you'd like more meat or if you're good for now. Their smoked pineapple was great too.Only downside was their restroom. One of the women's restroom door was quite cramped. I liked how they offer new clean towels to dry your hands though. I wished they stopped allowing kids in the restaurant after a certain time because 2 children were being really loud and annoying.

It felt like my steak was frozen. My New York steak came out with a well done line around the edges, as expected, but the center was almost completely raw. After getting it redone, I was given a medium steak which was okay.My date's filet mignon was cooked more properly, but nothing special in terms of flavor or texture. The shrimp skewers and bone marrow were cooked well, though not especially flavorful. I especially liked the char on the skewers and the chile de arbol jelly.Drinks were watered down and not very flavorful. The server mentioned that a particular drink was not very sweet and "like a michelada" but it was far from salty or savory like you would have expected. The service was great - servers were extremely attentive and quick! Unfortunately the food did not match this level of service.

The sister restaurant of Broadway Prime, as I believe the owners are brothers. I came here to celebrate a birthday for a family member and we got their prime rib. I got the San Mateo Prime Cut prime rib which came with salad, choice of a baked potato or mashed potatoes, choice of spinach or corn. These are the standard options, but I know they have more side options. The prime rib was well aged, but the cuts were a little stingy. The San Mateo Prime Cut looked similar to the Avenue Cut. There is also no 2nd cut available if you finished your 1st San Mateo Prime Cut. The steak knives here were also very dull and could use a sharpening or replacement. If I recalled correctly, they didn't leave the horseradish on the table and the waiter serves it and takes off with it, which was off. The service here was ok, but the waitstaff will simply take orders and drop off the food. No engagement with customers or checking up on the tables. I will stick with Broadway Prime in the future.

Came here for happy hour to celebrate a birthday. Tried the filet mignon spring rolls as part of the happy hour, and the award-winning 10oz prime rib which came with a small portion of veggies and a side. The spring rolls were decent, but quite heavy and left behind a bitter fried-oil aftertaste. came with some sort of dipping soy sauce that was good but on the saltier sideFor the price, I expected the prime rib to be much more tender and juicy. The vegetables and side dish were smaller than we expected and didn't have too much flavor. The au jus was saltier than I was used to. We asked our waitress but it seems the restaurant also doesn't celebrate birthdays, which I didn't know and was a bit disappointed by. A good experience but would not come again

I tried escargots for the first time, and while it's hard to say if they were good, I liked them anyway. The highlight for me was the sauce the escargots were swimming in. The fried shrimp and fries were crunchy, tasty, simple, and good. A glass of wine accompanied the meal, making it a delightful dinner. I'm not a fan of their decor, but it's fine. They have a bar with TVs and sports channels, which is a plus. I also appreciated the service; they take care of their customers.

I wish I was here right now as I'm writing this review. I'm not usually a tequila person, but Tommy's makes what are the best margaritas I have ever had. I love sitting at the bar to have a drink and it's always a chill, friendly atmosphere where people are sure to strike up conversation. Excellent margaritas- not too sweet, gorgeous fresh lime squeezed right in front of you. Food is not bad, but nothing amazing to write home about. No food has ever been bad, but in a city like SF with so many amazing Mexican restaurants there are certainly more interesting options. That being said, I have never not cleaned my plate here! Go and enjoy one of the most perfect margaritas ever, good company, and food that will be solid after a few drinks :). Sorry to Tia Margaritas but I prefer the drinks, service, ambiance, and food here.

"This place is amazing! The hostess, Delaney, is what made our night. I'm currently disabled and she went out of her way to accommodate my needs from the very beginning all the way until the end of our dinner. I had to use the restroom and she personally walked me all the way back to the restroom and held the door for me! The food was incredible, our server was extremely attentive, and the food came out fast. I'll definitely come back. Thanks Delaney!"
"Timber and Salt in Redwood City is a true gem, Pricey but worth it. Great special occasion place. The bartenders here makes some of the most carefully blended, artistic drinks I've ever had. Their creativity and attention to detail shine through in every cocktail, making each one a unique experience. For the main meal, The menu features a wide range of dishes, from perfectly cooked salmon to dry-aged New York steak that's simply fantastic. I tried their seasonal pesto gnochi and it was amazing. If you're looking for a great appetizer to start your meal, the deviled eggs are a must-try. They're simply phenomenal, with a creamy texture and just the right amount of seasoning. The pickled habaneros can be a bit spicy for some, but the dish is still amazing even without them.Overall, I highly recommend Timber & Salt for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. The food is fantastic, the service is great, and the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. So if you're in the area, be sure to give it a try!"
"This was literally some of the best food I've had in a really long time. More specifically, this was, by far, the most DELICIOUS, mouth-watering, melt-in-your-mouth fantastic bone marrow on plant Earth. Just wow. There are no words to describe it, other than this would be my death row meal The vibes were awesome too, great wait staff, and just generally a great place to dine, with a lovely ambience. I also recommend the yummy potatoes! The drinks were awesome, too."
"Wow, what a find! Well technically someone chose this spot for birthday dinner, but nevertheless I am super glad I got to come here. First thing that caught my eye was the piano at the entrance. That and the decor together gives a very cozy smooth jazz kind of vibe which I absolutely love. This would be a great anniversary/special event kind of spot. Service was TOP notch by everyone. They were always around the table to help with questions, get new orders, fill water, etc. Cutlery, plates, and serve ware were smoothly transitioned in and out which made the dining experience great. As for food, everyone at the table ordered different things but I had the bread, NY steak, and a bite of the tomahawk and ALL of those were 1000% worth it!!! The truffle sauce(?) for steak that is extra charge is SOOO worth it! I usually am skeptical of any "fancy" ingredient food bc places usually ends up barely having the flavor but the sauce definitely has that deep truffle flavor. I am glad I asked the server and followed the rec."
"Looks great after the remodel. You now have to pay for sides though, and bread. But they cooked our ribeye perfectly! Service was great."
"We came here for their Fri/Sat/Sun after 5pm prime rib $39. It was alright. It wasn't anything fancy. For +$3.50, you can get either a salad or soup of the day. Today was clam chowder. As for the sides, you can choose between creamed spinach or cooked vegetables, either a baked potato or garlic mash potatoes. I asked for gravy on the mash potatoes but gravy was not available. My prime rib came with a bone but my friend's didn't. Both were thick and didn't leave us hungry. As for the meat, it got tedious to eat toward the end as it was a lot food. My guess is around 16oz. The quality was OK. It is not herb crusted nor aged that long. They should have dry aged it a bit more for the enzymes to develop a more complex flavor. As for the dining experience, no wait on a Friday night, unlike HOPR or Westlake Joe's. Vallemar Station puts glass on top of table clothes with paper napkins, yes, that kind of vibe. The bartender lady must be at least 70 years old. The waitstaff is young and energetic. There's a huge TV at the bar and also the dining room. It reminded me of how Val's in Daly City used to be, but a notch lower. Free bread. Service was excellent."
"Sat at the bar without a reservation and was able to get seated right away at about 8pm on a friday night. Their bar/lounge area is small but felt like being inside a speakeasy. The bartender let us know we could order anything of the menu a la carte apart from the bar menu so you have plenty of options! Drinks were excellent and did not disappoint.Yellowfin tartare- 9/10 came with homemade potato chips and it paired so nicely, I recommend getting as an appetizer!Steak tartare- 9/10 came with like a smoked bread and was my favorite of the two tartare. Highly recommend to try it! Black label burger- 9/10 Had my eye on this burger for a while and boy was it good. It was flavorful, the cheese was perfect and it left me wanting more. I know it's just a burger but the presentation was on point! Beef wellington- 8/10 My bf ended up getting this dish and we have had hell's kitchen version so it was different but still very good! Overall, I have tried their seated reservation in the restaurant and honestly liked sitting at the bar for their flexibility and ability to order anything of the menu. It felt more relaxed and we had amazing service! I recommend coming in to eat at the bar/lounge to try it out!"
"With this being my first official review of 2025, I wanted to pick a special spot... Enter Be.Steak.A.For Campbell, this is one of my favorites. Definitely the best special occasion restaurant in the city. You'll immediately figure this out by the sheer number of birthdays that are being celebrated here on any given night. Excluding my own birthday, there were at least 3 others when we were most recently there for dinner. So why is this such a great choice. For the TLDR version, amazing atmosphere, service, drinks and food...not much else you can ask for right? To expand on all of the above:ATMOSPHERE - Tasteful without being over the top.SERVICE - Every single person that we've interacted with have been fantastic. As far as waiters, Enrique is truly amazing. He helped guide us from beginning to end and curated a meal that was simply delicious every step of the way.DRINKS - Totally on point. Amari Old Fashioned is a great whisky option. For mocktails, I highly recommend the Veni Vidi Vici (nice creamsicle flair).FOOD - As the name of the restaurant already implies, you really come for the steak here. If you want to enjoy a completely pure steak flavor like no other, the Kawami Duo (4 oz of delmonico & 4 oz of spinalis) is a must try. Not a huge portion, but oh so tasty. For more of a traditional, larger-sized portion, you can't go wrong with the 18 oz wood-fired Ribeye. With its truffle port reduction sauce, this is such a great steak. If you really want to splurge, go for the Japanese A5 Wagyu that they have.As far as sides & small bites go, the spicy meatball, deviled egg and especially the marinated beets are all awesome. And getting the Prosciutto Di San Danielle carved tableside is a really cool experience. And if you're a dessert person, you absolutely must leave room for the Chocolate Budino. The fusion of chocolate cake and banana confit/gelato is perfect. To wrap this all up, Be.Steak.A is not cheap...but you definitely get what you pay for and a truly memorable experience is delivered from start to finish!"
"The Yelp ratings had me skeptical. Highly underrated. Purchased tickets to a venue at the Masonic and didn't want to pay for parking twice so we chose this due to proximity but it didn't disappoint. Osso has thee most amazing arugula salad I've ever had and it was so filling, I'd go back just for that. The Branzino was chefs kiss! Bone-in filet and mushrooms were amazing. The service and atmosphere were great but it was early so I am not sure if it would have been different had it been later or busier. Definitely will be going back."
"The food, the place & the people never disappoint! Tonight I had the fettuccine which was so freaking good! Tonight the live band was playing & they were good! If I had to pick a night to come, it would be Thursday night. I finished my dinner & moved on to dessert which was the creme brulee & when I say the best... it truly it is! Their Bread Pudding is also a good staple too! Which I also had before."
"4.5 STARSDate: Saturday, December 28th, 2024Time: 3pmParty of: 5Meal: Birthday Late Lunch / Early DinnerReservation Made: via OpenTable the same day*Dinner Rodizio ($74.95) x5*Premium Caipirinha ($16)*Espolon Salty Paloma ($14)*Barrel Aged Manhattan ($14)*Coke ($3.95)*Regular Cork Fee ($25) x2*Complimentary DessertFor a girlfriend's bday meal, we decided to try Show de Carnes. I've been to the older brazilian steak houses in the bay area - Fogo, Espetus, etc, so I'm familiar with the concept. Here, they have an extensive salad bar with of all things, sushi. I was trying to be meat centric, so I just stuck to the tableside service. I did grab some fruit at the end tho.I've always been a fan of picanha. That crusty fatty juicy meat. So good! The version here did not disappoint. I did try the majority of all the red meats - sirloin, ribeye, filet, ribs, lamb, etc. Most of the beef was great as I could find a rare-ish piece. But the lamb was all overcooked. Especially the lamb chops. So well done! They did give us some sauces for everything which helped. I enjoyed the chimichurri. If you don't want to deal with crowds, I do suggest coming in between lunch and dinner. It was very chill. We spent a good 2.5 hours here, so went into the beginning of dinner service. It was starting to get more packed as we left.Service was great. We never had to wait too long for more food. They also gave us a complimentary dessert for my gf's bday which was much appreciated.Fun place to have a special occasion meal. Any meat lover would be happy.REVIEW #3676"
"Absolutely solid steak place that serves other things like branzino, veal piccata, stroganoff and lobster ravioli (menu changes frequently). Did I mention Brazen Head serves steak? YES!Because this is the way when you want a very good to excellent cut of Prime Rib, New York strip, Filet Mignon or thick bone-in pork chop - and you can get it right up until closing time. Come as you are after work or in a sweater and jeans. Dining room is small and pub snug, packed solid on a Friday night (75 minute wait, no reservations) so even with the wind kicking up and a bit of rain, we settled in at the parklet outside, made toasty with a heat lamp. We were surprisingly cozy. (Don't say 'no' out of hand to sitting outside in inclement weather; it was warm and not crowded.)The Incinerator had penne and meatballs, tasted like the meatballs were beef, pork and veal, excellent. I had the Prime Rib, a dish I'd been craving for two years. It's hard to find unless you're going to pay rent and get dressed to the nines. Here at Brazen Head it was perfectly rare with very fresh horseradish that's deliciously potent, beware!Service (thank you Erin) made the meal special: She didn't skip a beat and made sure my son got an extra thick slice of carrot cake. Best to take Uber as parking is not easy. Lombard is probably your best bet but 8/10 for a high degree of difficulty, no private lot.Next time I won't be away so long: Dinner was great and service put it over the top!"
"First off, I've lived in the SF area almost my whole life and I am shocked that I e never heard of this joint. The ambiance is super old school and they have a lil parking garage right under (free). We got an order of the mashed potatoes, garlic fries, and Maui onion rings. I went with the bone-in ribeye medium rare. All the sides were solid, nothing special. But that ribeye was a pretty good! I will have to come back and try some other cuts!"
"Wonderful food and service! We sat outside , although it was a cloudy day. Their heat lamps were very hot. So much so, we had to ask to turn them down. The focaccia bread served at the beginning of our meal was soft and fresh! We are big fans of squid ink pasta and their rendition was very good. We appreciate how attentive the staff was. We will definitely be back!"
"Z is amazing super spectacular service gentle face with a great smile Food was good , decent portions Parking can be tricky"
"Where do I begin. The food was 7/10 very salty and I'm salty gal. The atmosphere was good UNTIL the restaurant got busy then it was like being in the middle of the BUSIEST intersection, at one point during the meal I had to get up and move so the could move furniture. We bumped by the staff all night. Also when we arrived we mentioned that their map takes u to the old location.. They had the balls to challenge me on this telling that there's no way that happened, mind we were not the only people who this happened too. When we told management of our experience all we gots was we are sorry it's was are soft opening. Then that should have been mentioned when we arrived. They are trying to be like Ruth Chris they are more like Applebee's. The only thing they did like Ruth Chris was the prices. Which I have no problem paying for but I expect A+ service, food and experience this was C- at best. What made the night GREAT was the company I was in definitely NOT PorterHouse. The end"
"I had club lounge access at the attached Hyatt Regency and it included a full voucher for the breakfast buffet (available to be purchased separately).Overall pretty tasty stuff! My most favorite thing that I had was the pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant). Was just like something you'd find at a good patisserie; nice crispiness (not stale!) with a rich dark chocolate shaving in the center, yum. The hash browns were perfectly light and crispy. Flavorful chicken sausage. On the flip side, the spicy lamb in a blanket was a little dry and the European soft scramble was a bit of a letdown as it was less silky than anticipated.Service could've been better. Although most of the staff was really polite, there was one particular male who was a little *too* socially jumpy.....Don't get me wrong, I didn't expect staff to be overly posh here, but he was very chatty at the restaurant and became agitated when I didn't promptly tell him which plates needed to be cleared from the table. He stood out from the rest of the crew, basically, and not in a great way.Breakfast buffet without Hyatt Regency club lounge access is $39 per person, sooo do I think it's worth that price? Ehh, based on my visit here, price is maybe a tad too high. If you're still curious about the offerings though (whole breakfast buffet menu list is on the website!) than I'd say go for it."
"I'll be honest--I came here for my anniversary with pretty low expectations, mainly for the view, but the food pleasantly surprised me. The steak tartare was outstanding--so tender, with crispy capers adding such a unique touch. We ordered the prime rib rare and it was still flavorful and well-prepared. The squid ink pasta, however, was a miss for me. It was overly sour and tart, likely due to the cherry tomatoes. The staff was incredibly kind and offered to remake it, but unfortunately, it still had that same sourness. Next time, I'd just skip it altogether and maybe try a cream based sauce. On a brighter note, the ahi tuna tacos were absolutely delicious and incredibly addicting--I could've eaten a whole plate of them.Overall, the experience exceeded my initial expectations, and the staff's attentiveness added to the positive impression. The view, of course, was stunning, but the standout dishes and warm service made the evening memorable."
"Come by for a drink!! Bar area with friendly staff and TVs to watch the game. If you don't drink, they have fancy expressos too!! We've had a surprise party in the private back room. Great place to come when in the city. Take a break from shopping or a meal before a show."
"My friends and I have an annual tradition for the last couple of years to go to a steakhouse on New Year's Eve and indulge. For 2024 NYE, we chose Alexander steakhouse. The meal started off with a complimentary bread basket and crab salad amuse bouche. Both were delicious! We knew we were going to go heavy on the entree so we added truffle fries to start in the beginning. Keep it light, haha. Fries were delicious! For my entree, I shared the split-bone ribeye with my hubs. I like my steak medium well. This was cooked to perfection! It was served with a Bordelaise sauce. For sides, we shared truffle mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, mushrooms, and creamed spinach. Yum, yum, yum and yum!! A few of my friends shared the porterhouse. Sadly, they weren't impressed . And another friend ordered the Mero which she loved! Finally, we ordered the Shibuya crossing, banana bombe and ice cream trio. I personally thought the dessert was just okay but my friends loved them! The restaurant also served complimentary cotton candy and sweets.Overall, I had a great time at Alexander's Steakhouse!"
"Our understanding is that tonight, February 12, 2025, was the "soft re-opening" after about a year of non-operation to completely gut and remodel the iconic Izzy's - San Francisco. Don't wait, make reservations now and treat yourself. The new interior is true to its heritage but is more elegant, private and sophisticated. In true San Francisco style, the management hired craftsmen to dismantle booths, light fixtures and almost anything that could be salvaged, then restored and re-installed. Brilliant. From the men's restroom hallway, I could get a peek into the sparkling new kitchen and it is impressive and efficient. We were told that a new chef is in charge in the back but that almost all of the beloved steaks, chops, prime rib, Izzy's potatoes and creamed spinach remain and, we loved every bite. Finally, when it comes to price, San Francisco has mandated significant labor, wages, health and benefits rules for restaurant workers and we fully support those laws. To help cover those increased costs, many restaurants in San Francisco include a 4% to 6% "surcharge" as contrasted with simply raising the cost of all food and beverage. Izzy's appears to not impose a surcharge and, we found the menu prices to be competitive and fair, particularly for the very professional level of service and outstanding and delicious menu and lack of surcharge. We will be back as often as we can and encourage customers, old and new, to frequent this San Francisco institution."
"I've been to Taurinus twice in the past two years for company-paid holiday dinners during December. This was my first and only Brazilian steakhouse that I've been to so it was an interesting experience. They have a salad/appetizer bar in the corner, but we all know that that's a distraction from the main course so don't get too much from here. MEAT. Each table has a standup green/red card label indicating whether you want servers to keep coming around with the meat selections or not. We left it on green haha. They have a good amount of meat selections, but the standout is hands down the picanha. Different cuts of the same meat typically blur together for me, but the picanha is just so extra tender, moist, juicy, and flavorful. You can't miss this one. I also have to mention the grilled pineapple which is just so good to eat while it's warm and juicy. This is coming from someone who is not the biggest fan of pineapple. It's also a nice break from all the richness and heaviness of the meat.DRINKS. I've tried the caipirinha and the batida de fruta. I was excited to try the caiprinha since it's THE quintessential Brazilian drink, but it just wasn't for me. It had a strong bitter aftertaste that was hard to go down. The batida de fruta also was not the drink for me as it was too creamy and gloopy.DESSERTS. I've tried the pudim and the crème brûlée. The pudim wasn't that great. The flan was on the denser side and didn't have much egg-y flavor. It seemed to be heavier on the condensed milk. Crème brûlée...you can't go wrong with it. It's a classic goodie with a creamy foundation and a crunchy, caramelized top. My bf got the mousse de maracujá, and I was able to cop a few bites. The passion fruit was really nice and refreshing. It's better than the pudim, but the creme brulee still has my heart. Now I had to do a little digging for the price of the main course as I did not pay for it myself. It seems to be somewhere between $60-70 a person excluding tax and tip as of 2023. If you're looking for a fancier dinner for a special occasion, I think this is somewhat a good price. Disclaimer: I don't typically eat at higher-priced restaurants all that much so take that with a grain of salt, but I've paid about the same price for overpriced mediocre Italian food so I would definitely pick this place over that. It's all you can eat so make sure you have the stomach for it to really make it worth."
"Porterhouse: A Classy Italian Steakhouse ExperienceFOODWhether you crave a robust steak or something from the sea, Porterhouse has you covered. I highly recommend the cowboy steak--beautifully seared, bursting with flavor, and perfectly medium-rare on request. If you prefer a more delicate cut, the filet mignon melts in your mouth with every bite. Don't overlook their sides: the twice-baked potato is the ideal mix of creamy and indulgent. And if you're more into fish, their catch of the day is impressively thick and cooked to highlight its fresh, ocean-kissed taste.A word to the wise: order your soufflé when you place your appetizer order. This ensures your sweet, airy finale arrives at just the right moment--trust me, you won't want to miss it.SERVICE The service here is as remarkable as the food. Armando, who hails from Italy, is not only incredibly attentive but also hilariously charming. During my birthday dinner, he surprised me with a champagne & peach sherbet, adding a festive touch to the celebration. On another occasion, I hosted some customers and Armando was kind enough to work with my friend Raquel, who actually built the custom drink menu he used for our event. It was a hit! What really made the night unforgettable was my friend Dory getting into a lighthearted joke exchange with Armando--if you happen to overhear them quipping back and forth, prepare to laugh. The staff's sense of humor, combined with their obvious dedication to guest satisfaction, creates a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere.AMBIANCE Picture a stylish Italian steakhouse that balances classy elegance with a relaxed, approachable vibe--that's Porterhouse in a nutshell. The décor is polished but never pretentious, making it equally fitting for milestone celebrations, business dinners, or a cozy night out. The thoughtful layout ensures you can enjoy lively conversation without feeling cramped or rushed. In short, Porterhouse strikes the perfect chord between top-notch cuisine, genuinely attentive service, and a refined yet comfortable setting. Don't forget to ask for Armando (and maybe swap jokes with him if you dare). Whether you're celebrating something special or simply seeking an elevated dining experience, Porterhouse will have you coming back for more. Buon appetito!"
