The name of this restaurant literally translates to "seafood hot", but they also serve different types of hot pots and Vietnamese dishes.Coconut sea snails (5/5): This is the perfect appetizer. It was very sweet creamy and succulent. Probably one of the best I've ever had.Seafood hotpot (5/5): i had to get this dish the restaurant is named after. It came with shrimp, squid, scallop, tofu, fish ball, clams, mussels , and other. Love the variety of seafood. It was very plentiful and the broth was the perfect sweet and sour. This place definitely blew my mind."

Ter L. "I'm typically not too big on super authentic Chinese hotpot but Zhangfei Hot Pot really changed that. What really stood out about this particular restaurant is it's extremely friendly staff. With the lunch's full house rush and only 2 younger gentleman running the entire show, it was clear how much they were hustling. Our party's requests were met with smiles and the vibes were so very chill. Seriously, this was some of the BEST customer service I've experienced at an Asian restaurant- which says a whole lot bc staff for the most part gives 2 shizzzzz about customer service. Lunch involved Zhangfei's AYCE. For $25/person, that was an absolute steal. Ordering occurs via QR code and the meal is cut off at a limit of 1.5 hours. There are a long list of items available but pay close attention to things that contain a charge next to it- these items are not included into the AYCE meal and will result in additional charges. Food:While there is a self serve condiments station for you to create your own dipping sauces and a station filled with snacks, sweets, and a few veggies, everything else is ordered via phone. As some Yelpers mentioned, getting your items can take quite a bit of time and you may not even receive parts of your order [which happened to us]. We let a few items slide but the staff is very helpful if you bring the missing items to their attention. We opted for the half/half broth combo and decided on Japanese Sukiyaki & Japanese Pork Bone. Sukiyaki was super sweet [too sweet for my tastebuds] but the pork bone balanced things out by mixing the two. The cuts of meat are decent quality and the servings are plentiful. 4 stars overall because the meal is really good but the time you are left waiting on items can seem unnecessary. +1 because the staff is so diligent and kind. This goes without mentioning but I am most definitely a fan."

Jennifer T. "My friend and I came here to check out their happy hour $36/person from 5-6:30pm. Good thing we got here at 5:10pm, because the deal only works if you're done eating by 6:30pm. The sign didn't make that clear and probably dupe people to come in around 6pm but not able to finish eating by 6:30pm. It was $46.14 each person even with the happy hour deal, including tax, tips, and SF health care mandate. The decorations inside are very cute!It was a great selection of food! We enjoyed 2 plates of chicken karagge, 1 plate of gyoza, and fried fish balls for appetizers. We picked the Japanese broth tonkatsu and sukiyaki. We had different types of beef, seafood deluxe, octopus, house made meatballs, squash, seaweed, and udon. It was too much food and I stuffed myself too much, so I recommend not ordering the udon, octopus, and meatballs. The Japanese meatballs tasted odd to me. I should've ordered the vegetable combo, more meat, and more appetizers instead. Definitely order the chicken karagge cause that was bomb!!"

The new sukiyaki broth that replaced it is too sweet and the sweet and sour tomato broth gave me a horrible acid reflux. After they removed tom yum we tried it a couple more times but even the variety of the ingredients decreased. Sadly, we won't be coming back anytime soon. Maybe maybe maybe"

We decided to throw a birthday party for my nephew, who was home from college. We reserved a private Karaoke room for AYCE hot pot and it was FUN. We ordered a ton of appetizers, meats, veggies, sashimi, rice, noodles, fruit and drinks. We had three different hot pots that were split, so six different broths. It was $44 for each adult for the private room (All you can eat and drink), Like $19 for kids and my 3 year old was free. I was worried that the kids would not like to do the hot pot, but they loved getting served. When we weren't sharing plates, we were passing that mic. Even people who didn't want to sing, had a blast and were picking songs. It was so fun, we all had a blast and left so full."

And we liked that there's also a split option for individual pots. Ordering is through a phone app, which is not too convenient when you're doing AYCE with multiple people. We were limited to 3 items per person per round, which seemed restrictive but actually not. The menu though was smaller compared to other places we've been to. We enjoyed the supreme beef and lamb, other meats were fine. They could do better with portion sizes. We only got 4 pieces of shrimp, mussels, fish tofu each in one order but then bowl full of fish filet and squid. There was so much that it felt like we were given a whole filet and squid. Vegetable options were also limited and sadly not fresh. Some were frozen and others were old and browning. But there were enough items we liked and we left very full.Parking: the plaza is under construction right now, so parking can be challenging."

It's an intimidating name for a restaurant but I gave them a try. I ordered the chicken and fish maw with flaming pot and it was excellent. It was definitely "hot" - it numbs the tongue a little and my face started really sweating. I absolutely loved it. I needed more napkins to wipe the sweat off my face. Service was good though the restaurant wasn't busy. I liked the decor - it's a little more upscale than the traditional Chinatown restaurant. I usually get it with the fried fish filet which is *chef's kiss*, flavorful and crunchy but has a kick to it! Come hungry because the small iron pot is perfect for two people, and I usually take the rest home since I also order additional things. The leftovers even taste good the next day because the flavor has soaked in even more. I do recommend that you consider the spice level because like their name, "spices", the food can be pretty spicy even for a medium. I also LOVE their fried eggplant, for an appetizer. It's crunchy on the outside with that spicy chili and peppery flavor, and balances out the eggplant flavor so well. Like I said, service is quick and I'm so happy it's close to me in my neighborhood. I go all the time for some comfort food and am still not tired of it!"

The service is quick and the person who helped us get settled was very nice. They have a variety of options for veggies, meats, seafood and noodles. I got a mix of veggies, some fish ball with roe, tofu and yam noodles. The minimum weight is about .80lb and for that amount of weight, it is a pretty good amount of items in the bowl of soup. There are 5 broths to choose from: beef bone, tomato, laksa, yom tum and pork and you pick which level of spice you want. I opted for the medium while my spouse got the extra spicy- he was very brave but also, the heat was evident based on the sweat on his forehead. After they told us to get ready, we had to wait even more since they were not actually ready. We waited for over an hour in total - by the time we started eating, it was already 8:40. We split our party in two to sit in two separate tables to make everything quicker. The staff was very nice to us since they knew we had to wait for such a long time. They offered to let us order three broths. However, the kitchen wasn't fully in sync so the person who took our order told us that we only got two broths. I didn't care and we ended up getting a mala broth and a garlic tonkotsu broth. I like how they have sauces tableside so we don't need to get out of our seats. The food was pretty decent and had good flavor. I especially liked the mala broth. We went with the ultra menu and mostly ordered wagyu and lamb to get our money's worth. Both cuts of meat were good. The broth refill is just pouring hot water into the soup so it does get a bit diluted. We thought that they were going to stop serving us at 9:20 since they close on 9:30 on Sundays but they were aware of our situation and kept serving us. We stayed 20 minutes past closing and I appreciate the staff for staying a bit later to deal with us. The owner stopped by to chat with us and he was very nice. He was made aware of our situation and apologized. Even though our interaction was brief it was clear that he is passionate about this restaurant. He talked us into getting one last plate of meat even though I was full and also gave us some mochi ice cream.Even though my experience was very atypical and I was very tempted to give a lower review due to the wait time, the quality of the food and the lengths the staff went to ensure that we were happy justify a 5/5."

You have 3 rounds for the ayce and they bring the food to you, I guess this is fresher / cleaner and doesn't have as much food waste compared to people grabbing food from a self serve bar . $29.99 for weekday / all day weekend ayce . They charge 99 cents for the sauce bar, which I personally think is kind of silly. The sauce bar didn't have as many options as other happy lamb places I have gone to either.
