It was my first time here and it will definitely not be my last. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was above and beyond. Great for date night, birthdays and group gatherings.

I wanted to try this so why not take advantage of the Miami Spice fixed price menu offer, $60 for a 3 course dinner as otherwise it is quite an expensive restaurat. The menu was different from what it is shown on the Miami Beach website for Miami Spice, I guess they change weekly with some variations. I had the tuna sashimi, the steak and the strawberry shortcake. I asked for the steak to be medium rare but it came well done, for a steakhouse to mess up with your steak it seems not that great but I could not be bothered to send it back as it was very tasty anyway. Thank goodness I also thought of bringing my own wine as their wine list is great but all very expensive wines so much better to bring a bottle of what you like and pay for corkage fee $35, you can only bring bottles that they don't have on their list so you would have to call and make sure the wine you will bring is not on it.Second bottle of wine has a corkage fee of $50, honestly I don't think it is fair, the corkage fee should be the same for each bottle and if you don't want people to bring their own wines maybe offer some at reasonable pricing too..

This review is very generous. My wife made a reservation on OpenTable for my birthday and we were both so excited after reading reviews on OpenTable and Yelp. There were a few bad ones and I wish we would have taken them seriously! We received a phone call the day of confirming our reservation, so I assumed they would be aware that we were coming. It was weird because they acted like we weren't even there the entire time. The inside of the restaurant looks very dark, but we honestly wouldn't know because we were rushed to the patio. The seating is pretty cramped outside - we could hear everything from the tables around us. There is nothing private about this dining experience. We were sat pretty promptly and greeted by a female who asked if we were interested in any drinks. We ordered two drinks and she quickly left. Shortly after this, we received bread (which was honestly the best part of the dinner). A male came over shortly after and asked for our orders. I ordered a filet mignon (medium), my wife ordered carbonara, and then we both decided to split a few sides (macaroni and cheese, creamed corn, and loaded potatoes). Our food took a little bit longer than we would have liked, but it seemed like they were busy. A different person brought out our food and then quickly left. We realized that we were missing the macaroni and cheese and my steak was rare. For the next 30 minutes absolutely nobody checked on us. They didn't take the time to make sure we received everything and didn't take the time to check on the steak temperature. I ate the sides and attempted to eat some of the steak. My wife loved her carbonara, so that's a positive! Another waiter came over and took the plates. Never asked how our meal was or if everything was correct. By this point, I was so irritated that I didn't care. The tables around us were being checked on pretty consistently. The waiter finally came over and asked if we wanted dessert and we said absolutely not. We decided to go somewhere else due to all of the issues. He brought the check out and everything was incorrect. A higher priced filet mignon was on our bill and the macaroni and cheese was on there. My wife explained to him that we never received the macaroni and cheese and he looked at her like she was a liar and then walked away with the bill. The most frustrating part is that they automatically add a 20% gratuity to the bill. I'm convinced this is why I was up charged for my steak at this point. My wife and I always tip over 20%, but were very irritated by the entire experience, attitude of the server, and fact that they automatically add a tip knowing that they never checked on us once. We decided to not add any additional tip after spending over $250 on food. I really wish we had a better experience here.

To start off the ambiance is perfect for nice intimate dinner, the bar was definitely a show stopper showcasing all the finest spirits from your favorite Tequila to Louis XIII. The oysters were some of the freshest I've had in a while! The hot peppers were stuffed with a house made Italian style sausage and topped with a Marinara that's the perfect balance of heat and sweet. I ordered a Ribeye for my entree, it was cooked and seasoned to perfection, melted in my mouth. The sides come big enough to share. I definitely recommend the Florida Creamed Corned came topped with a cornbread dust. Everything was great!

We hadn't been to RED since they moved to the new location in 2021. Something in the back of my mind always told me we didn't have a good prior experience at the old location. We were glad we went back. Stopped in on a rainy Sunday evening in mid November when visiting for a long weekend and then again around Christmas. Both nights were not super busy which was nice since we didn't feel rushed through our meal which can happen when restaurants have lines out the door.We had Bryce as our server in November and he took over as server when he saw us come back in at Christmas time. Bryce took really good care of us in November and loaded us up with rolls to go as well the olive oil we fell in love with. RED has a unique approach to their bread coarse serving. A plate of olive oil comes the bread, which is not unique to restaurants. How RED stands out is that the plate of olive oil is poured over grated parmesan and chili powder. This combination had a unique taste and is hard to stop sopping up with the bread. Warning, you need to save room for dinner. So to begin our meal after maxing out on the bread and oil, we've ordered oysters with a classic mignonette and iceberg wedge with tomatoes, bacon, and blue cheese. Can't go wrong with that combination. For the main meals, we've had the NY Strip with peppercorn sauce and the filets with Hollandaise. Always cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth good. Classic sides of whipped potatoes and green beans, standard fare. For desert we've tried the doughnut holes with chocolate, caramel, and raspberry. You can't stop eating the doughnuts if you are a sweets fan. Key Lime tart was another fan favorite. We tried the Baked Alaska, which seems to be making a comeback, and was the only miss. The meringue on RED's Baked Alaska was a little too sweet. We travel to SoBe several times a year and RED is back on the must see list.

The "new" space, now several years old, is in some respects more modern and showier than its spot now occupied by an unlucky cat. Sadly, it's a much tougher location where parking spots are myths. I renewed my love affair with Red recently and Fortunately it hasn't lost a step (unfortunately I lost my takeout order). The steak tartare was as good as you can expect. It's not dumbed down with extra ingredients and flavors, it's well seasoned and there are nearly enough crostini. It's an excellent and familiar rendition, perfectly cut, salted well and tangy. I also had the short rib with a change to whipped potatoes (note to other fine dining restaurants if a guest requests a change to another side dish, make it). It was about as good a version as you'd find. Not to Pat myself on the back but I make a crazy good short rib but this was at a slightly higher level, a bit of crust, caramelized flavor and a redolent, sweet and complex cooking sauce. It melted in your mouth and meshed brilliantly with the potatoes. Service at the bar was engaging and highly professional. Wine list is deep. But, that said, these are South Beach 2024 prices. There are no real deals here. If you're not familiar expect sticker shock. This freezes out many locals but that's the state of play in this area these days. It's not out of line with its competition. A win overall and I hope it overcomes the locational challenge.
