"Pizzeria Toro served some of the best pizza we've had in the Triangle. This restaurant has been in business since October 2012 for a reason. That's all you need to know. If you want details, read on.This place is popular and doesn't take reservations. We showed up right around 6pm on a Saturday and it was packed. We were given an estimated wait time of 25 minutes. Our actual wait time was about 30 minutes. I generally don't like waiting at restaurants, but this wait wasn't that bad because we were able to sit at the bar, and the wait was worth it.The restaurant's main entrance faces E Chapel Hill St. There's also a side entrance and separate bar room around the corner on Morris St. That's where we sat and waited. We had the option to eat at the bar, but we decided to wait for a table in the dining room for the experience and ambiance. It appeared online orders were picked up from a counter in the bar room. So, if you're picking up takeout, enter via Morris St.Like many businesses in this part of downtown Durham, Pizzeria Toro doesn't have dedicated parking. There's plenty of street, surface lot, and deck parking nearby. We parked for free in "Lot 32" at 111 W Chapel Hill St. The City enforces metered parking Monday-Friday, 8am-7pm. At the time of writing this review, parking rates are $2.50/hour for street and $2.25/hour for lot/deck.The restaurant isn't very big. Seating is communal. There's no outdoor seating. A showcase oven and pizza prep counter are the focal point of the the dining room (open kitchen). The atmosphere was bustling. The food menu was straightforward with 10 appetizer, soup, and salad options (priced at $11-16 each), 10 red pizzas ($15-21), six white pizzas ($18-21), and four cured ham options ($11-18 per ounce). Some local items were featured such as Chatham County Crispy Pig's Ears ($14) and Orange County Baby Lettuces ($11). The drink menu was extensive and had a decent variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The wine list had a solid assortment of wines from across Italy. Here's what three of us shared:Antipasti* Burrata ($15) - cherry tomato config, everything flatbread* Ricotta Dumplings ($16) - cipollini, NC sweet corn, Italian truffle* Person Co. Roasted Okra ($12) - tomato mayoPizza* Sweet Fennel Sausage, roasted peppers, provolone ($19) - red pizza* Spicy Calabrian Salumi, charred onions, fior di latte ($19) - red pizza* Cultivated and Foraged Mushrooms, garlic, fior di latte ($19) - white pizzaCocktails* Aperol Margarita ($13 each) x2 - Lunazul, Cointreau, aperol, lime, sea salt, rocks* Carousel ($12) - Campari, Barbera d'Alba, honey, lemon soda, rocks* Anguria Fresca ($13) - mezcal, watermelon, jalapeno, rocksWine* Sterparo, Aglianico, Basilicata (2022) ($11 glass) - orange and pink wine from Southern Italy (rosato / rose)Everything was delicious. My favorites were the Burrata and the Mushroom pizza. Everyone in our group liked the Mushroom pizza the best.If it's on the menu, burrata is one of my favorite things to order when dining out. Most restaurant burrata I've had has typically been good. In comparison, Pizzeria Toro's Burrata was above average. Not only was it really fresh, but it had an added layer of richness and complexity. The accompanying "everything flatbread," a la everything bagels, was excellent. It was full of flavor and incredibly tasty on its own.And that's something I noticed they do really well here: bread (dough / crust). The crust on all three of our pizzas was absolutely fantastic. This was the kind of crust that had ideal flavor and consistency (the right amount of springiness) where every single bite was scrumptious and you wanted to finish everything.I'm a fan of mushroom pizzas in general and Pizzeria Toro's Mushroom pizza was probably the best I've had in recent memory. It was packed with umami. I also love garlic and fior di latte, so no surprise this turned out to be my favorite pizza. Second-best to me was the Sweet Fennel Sausage pizza. Again, outstanding crust and just terrific all-around flavor. High-quality ingredients, well-balanced. I recommend it if you like sausage pizza. The Spicy Calabrian Salumi pizza was salty and savory. While yummy, I probably wouldn't order it again simply because there were so many other better-looking options on the menu. The other apps, the Ricotta Dumplings and the Roasted Okra, were very good. The Ricotta Dumplings were recommended to us by our server and it was a great recommendation, fairly unique and very satisfying. The Okra was local and a tasty side. The cocktails were well-made, strong, and refreshing. Also eye-appealing.We interacted with lots of staff, from the hostess to the bartenders to the food runners, and everyone / service was great. Francesca was our server and she was wonderful. I could tell this is a well-run operation."Toro" is Italian for bull. I think the business name is a nod to the City of Durham, nicknamed the "Bull City.""
"I have yet to try their Korean BBQ but their Dolsot Bibimbap (hot stone bowl with meat n veggies) is solid. Loved the shallower bowl which gives more surface area for toasted rice flavor. The Kimchi Jigae was decent and the banchan side dishes were good. The side dish of mayo-based macaroni with raisins was reminiscent of church meals that someone's mom or grandma always made. I requested a refill on that one. Nice way to offset the heat and spice. We'll be back for the Korean BBQ!"
Assortment of lightly seasoned vegetables (daikon radish, bean sprout, carrot, zucchini, watercress and sweet potato stem), topped with a fried egg and served with rice and Korean red pepper paste sauce on the side. Eggs cooked to order.

"Best/authentic pho in the Raleigh-Area. Service is pretty quick. They renovated a little bit."
"***FOOD: 2.5 stars really. overall food was ok. Momo Dumplings were very good; free papadum- ok; saag paneer- was ok; lamb mango curry -ok; chicken tikka masala -ok; fried rice- requested no vegetables but ended up with vegetables- so that was a no go. Mango lassi- wasn't sweet enough. Naan- was very plain. Overall I have had better indian food. Also saw a giant ant / beetle / bug climbing up and down the wall of the booth next to us. ***COST (OUT OF 4$) $$***DÉCOR: weird mix with their glass crystal Versaillesque chandeliers & Home Depot outdoor patio lights, booths are a plus. ***SERVICE: server didn't speak English very well nor do I think she understood us hence the mix up with one of our dishes. Took a long time for food to be served."
"This place has BOGO sushi for dine in only. You can never go wrong with Bogo sushi. They have a lot of different rolls which kinda makes it hard to make a decision. I like this place if you want a casual place for sushi that won't break the bank."
"My favorite place for quick - to go - sushi. Their location is very convenient to my office (about a 5 minute drive), where there is ample amount of parking. They are located in a strip mall which provides great amount of parking for all to park in.From the looks of the outside of the restaurant, one may be hesitant to go further, however, once you enter through the doors, you are transformed into a much nicer looking restaurant with a FULL, top shelf lounge / bar area with televisions, high tables, booths and bar seating. On the other side is their restaurant location, where they provide plenty of seating, booths as well as tables. Their lunch specials that they offer are great priced! you can get 3 rolls, soup and salad for only $12.00!Typically I get the same 3 rolls - Tuna Roll, Salmon Roll and shrimp tempura roll. with miso soup and salad with ginger dressing.Recently, I took a 'to go' order on a Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised with a BOGO! (buy one, get one free) - which ever roll is lesser. I was able to try the rainbow and firecracker rolls.Very tasty, even after getting home (wish they included more soy sauce packets, as well as wassabi).definitely my go-to place for quick, quality, affordable sushi!"
"Have been to Thai Villa several times and this place never disappoints. Ordered one of my favs, they called Thai Villa noodles but it is the "drunken noodles" and the flavors take me back to Phiphi Island and a neighborhood restaurant in Bangkok Service is always good even for a hole on the wall"
"This was a favorite dining spot of mine as a student at UNC-CH in the early 90s so we decided to visit and check out the menu 30+ years later. One of the great things is that the restaurant still looks the same as it did then, like a comfy grandmother's kitchen. and The menu hasn't changed much, either. I mean, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", right? The service was pretty quick and our waiter was a very nice young man. The food was still tasty with good size portions as well. If you are in the area and want a soul food meal, give them a try!"

I'm not a local, so wasn't sure if the reviews were really going to live up to the hype. Well, I'm here to say it ABSOLUTELY DOES!!!This is among the top pizza's I've ever had in the world. The crust is absolutely perfect. It's light, yeasty and crispy and pairs so well with whatever is on top. We had the classic margherita which isn't usually my go to, but was very well done. And the white potato pizza which was fantastic. I can't wait to come back to try some others next time. For apps, the supli's were fabulous with great flavor. The brushetta with whipped ricotta was good, but I thought the bread was a little stale or wet? Good, but not as good as everything else we had. Also the kale salad which was well dressed, but I'm personally not a huge raw kale fan.The restaurant is hopping and quite busy and loud, even on a Sunday night. Sad we skipped dessert as they looked amazing and will have to leave room for that next time! Definitely coming back here next time I'm in town.

I was surprised when I read some of the recent reviews because this has been our go to place for Korean food for the past 20 years and we have always had outstanding service and delicious authentic food. Today was no exception. Our waitperson could not have been sweeter, attentive and professional. He brought everything correct, gave us hot tea to start and was on hand when we needed more napkins or cutlery. I loved my bento box and it sure filled me up. I had salad with a light flavorful dressing, a beef sushi roll, lots of beautifully cooked tempura and chicken teriyaki with a generous portion of rice. I forgot to mention the miso soup which was good, and all those little dishes of endless amounts of kimchee, macaroni salad, broccoli salad, and some other yummy spicy items. I love this restaurant and we had a great lunch at a reasonable price with great service.

10/10 on the pho here! My boyfriend is Vietnamese and he could not stop talking about this place for days!! He stated he will take his mom here when she visits- which is a big deal in the family! The richness of flavor is well done and you can tell that this place took the time to go through the painstaking process of creating the broth to the pho. I loved the pho and will certainly come back with more family! If you come here, I would highly recommend getting the pho of your choice and I promise you will not be disappointed. You come here for the food, not necessarily the service so it's important to keep that in mind. I say that for almost all the places that I go to with amazing food because to me, if the food is that good, the service does not matter. However in the case of Taste, we got our drinks, apps and Pho in a timely manner. We were not disturbed by an excessive amount during our meal and we were greeted quickly upon entering. 10/10 !!

Their bhindi masala is fantastic! The flavors of the vegetables are great. I wasn't craving the creaminess of their korma during this visit, but wow! The okra were cooked well, onions were packed with flavor and nice and crunchy.Service was fast and good as usual. Ambiance is always nice, although I miss the way it looked before the remodel. Very classy feel tho.

Standard American sushi fare. This restaurant is a local favorite. I have to say, the location really helps this place out. The food is ok, but the staff is pretty friendly and attentive. Overall, a decent place to get a quick sushi fix before heading out for the night.

What a great place - Thai Villa is indeed a hole in the wall Thai Restaurant, and wow is their food awesome. Their menu and cooking is authentic as it gets - and the execution is outstanding. The environment is simple - not a romantic candle-lit spot :) I can imagine they do a lot of take-out: I saw a lot of to-go order while I dined. the service was fast, attentive and friendly. One downside is they have no Sing Ha beer (or any beer) to reduce the spicy heat of their cooking. {alas}

Mama Dip's delivers classic Southern charm in a traditional country diner scene. I wanted to try Mama Dip's out before they closed their doors after nearly five decades in business. I split a fried chicken plate with my friend and we both agree that the cooks timed it well. The breading was on the darker side but the meat was tender. My favorite side was their hushpuppies. My friend and I liked their tender cores. Their cornbread could be better.I appreciate our server timing her check-ins with gaps in our conversation. I settled on the European table service style and signaled her when we were ready to order and when we wanted water refills. Thanks, Mama Dip for delivering fine Southern food and charm to us first-timers.

"We ate an early lunch and wanted a mid-day snack, so we came in to NC Seafood Restaurant to order a few seafood platters. It was a Sunday at around 4 pm and for such a weird time, there was still a good amount of people ordering/dining. We ordered two combo platters - one with oysters, jumbo shrimp, and scallops, and the other with catfish and oysters. Platters come with French fries, hush puppies, and cole slaw. They give you a generous amount of the sides, but I did not care for the fries. Everyone's favorite was the fried scallops, which were meaty and fresh. It was a good snack to share because I couldn't imagine eating all of this fried stuff myself. I saw they had deviled crabs so I'll have to try those next time I'm in town!"
"We have had a lot of Thai food in many locations this was not good. We were the only customers and yet got minimum service. Server got my wife soup order wrong, didn't ask what type rice my son wanted and didn't come to bring anything else or ask if the food was right.I asked for the Pad See Ew noodles to be cooked well done, far from it with the noodles way too sauces and not that good."
"The service was impeccable! Our waitress was impeccable!!! Chimney Indian Kitchen + Bar gave us authentic flavour, mouth watering, phenomenal food, and drinks! Kudos to all the staff from our waitress who greeted us with a welcoming smile even if it was 20 mins before closing the kitchen. The chef who made our food fresh and delicious! Our drinks are delicious too. They mean business! This restaurant is awesome! This is by far the most delicious Indian food I've tasted in the Chapel Hill area.We came across the Chimney Indian Kitchen + Bar that has a good ambiance and a very nice restaurant. They gave us the experience and food that we were craving for a while. We will definitely come back! Highly recommended!"
"Everything was superb from food to drink. There was a lot of food for 3 of us. The waiter was nice and gave some good recommendations since this was our 1st time there. I forgot to take pictures of the dessert. It was so so so good. It's like milk/cheese balls served in kind of milky sauce. It was comforting to cool down all the spiciness. It was not crowded during lunch."
"Placed an order for a large group and tried many different dishes. We tried the shrimp egg foo yong, which was very good and the gravy was just right. We also ordered chicken fried rice and vegetable fried rice. Both dishes were cooked well and were very moist. We also had an order of beef lo mein, and that was cooked very well. I was pleasantly surprised as it was the first time I've tried this location. We got delivery and the delivery time was quick.Overall very satisfied with this meal."
"I saw so many great reviews for this place, and hopefully I will re-try this once covid is over. i placed an order at the walk up window one afternoon when it wasn't overly busy. Based on the menu, I ordered a teriyaki chicken with extra veggies over 1/2 scoop of rice, with the sauces on the side.Nonetheless, the food was BATHING in the sauces, and was overly salty. I did appreciate the extra veggies in it, as they added a good amount of broccoli, however the amount of onions that were included (that i didn't see until i started digging through all of the sauce) was immense! Unfortunately for me, the experience was not very good, as there was way too many onions, bathing in sauce and was way too salty. It is definitely a good 'quick food' place, if you are into that. Prices were not that bad for the amount of food that you are getting, however, following directions from the customer was definitely not their forte."
"We ordered Dum Aloo (potatoes in a butter chicken-like curry) and Dal Fry and we got samosa chole chaat. My Punjabi husband loved all of it. My son loved putting all the rice in his face. We also ordered bullet naan and onion parantha which were good, too. The ambiance inside is quite cute when I stopped in for a menu. It looks pretty stylish and like a great date night place. We can't really comment so much on the service because we stopped in and it was ready. I'm excited for this new place in apex with great food."
"Running out of local places for breakfast, we decided to check if this one served breakast, and we were glad we did. It's part of a gas station, convenience store setup, off Interstate 40.We both had breakfast plates, eggs, bacon, toast and sausage. Served hot, fresh and quick. The toast, seriously, was the best I've had at any local breakfast place. No table service, order at counter, find a seat. They call your name.At least you can sit and enjoy your meal. We'll be back, lunch or dinner if they offer. Drinks are self-serve at a bar in the convenience store part of this gas station. The offered freshly brewed iced tea, as well. Support local business!"
"Nothing fantastic about this place. Just another those Americanized Chinese place. The rice is better than I expected tho"
"Mr Cancun is open in the space previously occupied by Los Magueyes. I started off with a beer then had a margarita. For food we split an order of queso then it was the shredded chicken chimichangas for me and the green burrito for my husband. It's a quick, good Mexican option."
"Good variety of food and great people! Definitely recommend for a casual and quality Nepali bite! Will be back."
"Still outstanding. Delicious, clean, friendly and more Easy parking. Al easy to order in the app."
