"We were down visiting Camp Durant with the scouts and had dinner on our own.. so we packed up the car and decided on trying to something local versus the same old fast food chains and I would day, I was pleasantly surprised how good this food was.First, the place looks not very inviting, but the 2 ladies working the front were super friendly and super busy.We just ordered pizza and the boys wanted fries with their pizza. And it was very good. Being from the Raleigh area, I am tired of the pizza disappointment and was glad to find good pizza. Unfortunately it's 90 minutes from us, but it will be our go to place from now on when we're camping or visiting camp Durant.Great Job!"

Service and food were absolutely terrific.The freshly baked complimentary rolls are destination worthy alone, but add in some perfectly cooked pasta and we were happy as could be! Husband had good old spaghetti and meatballs and was given a choice between smooth or chunky marinara. He chose chunky and loved it. I tried their Penne Bella Italia and have to say it's a WOW dish. Chicken, Shrimp, Fresh Mozzarella & Spinach in a pink sauce. What really made the chicken in the dish was the seasoning, a nice touch of rosemary. Yum!Both of our pastas came with a simple salad. Blue Cheese for him, and Balsamic for me. Nice light way to start the meal, along with those fabulous rolls.Loved our friendly delightful Server as well. Some believe this is because it was originally eaten by pinching between the thumb and finger, making the shape of a rooster's beak. Pico de gallo, however, has nothing to do with roosters, or birds in general. Pico de gallo is a salsa popular with Mexican food, like tacos, nachos, or quesadillas and has nothing to do with Pizza!!!So, to put it simply, this "so called" pizzeria is anything but a pizzeria. It's nothing more than an old convenience store selling the same mediocre "99 Cent" pizza you can find spread the 5 Burroughs of NYC. Cheers!"

Would recommend for a slightly classier pizza option in Durham!"

But now that's it's my second time I'm able to give it a little more thought.During our first foray into this restaurant we ordered the calamari, the spaghetti with meatballs, tiramisu and cannoli. The calamari was great (A), the spaghetti was an A as well. The tiramisu and cannoli were fantastic! Second visit we tried to mix it up. We had the NYC pizza and we chose additional toppings and the tiramisu to share. Pizza was really good. Just as good as Johnny's but with a thinner crust. Well prepared. I give it an A. The tiramisu gets an A just as the last time.Parking is ample and the ambiance feels like a typical pizza tavern. Unpretentious and straightforward. Just the way I like it. I recommend this joint if you get a hankering for good Italian fare."

"I discovered Pie Pushers a few months back on the Durham Food Tour. The experience was great then so it has been on my list to return. So it was the perfect spot to dine before seeing 1776 at DPAC.Pie Pushers is on the second story and stairs are the only way to reach the restaurant so the venue might not be accessible to everyone. I liked the decor and there is a Where's Waldo figurine too. So try to find it when you are there.The staff is very friendly and helpful here. They have actual menus and a big menu on the wall behind the cash register. You can order just a slice; a half pie or a full pie. Gluten free is an option for the crust. You can create your own pizza from the toppings or choose from the specialty pizzas. Besides pizza, you can get sandwiches, salads and wings.Ordering is done at the counter and they give you a number and will bring your order to the table.I ordered the Spinach and Ricotta half of a pie pie so that was four slices of a normal pizza. I didn't think I could eat it all but it was just so good that I ate all four slices and enjoyed every bite. The pizza was cooked perfectly and just the right amount of each topping.I also saw that on Fridays and Saturdays they had strawberry shortcake so I just had to try that too. It was bigger than I expected with two warm biscuits, strawberries and whipped cream. I think it was homemade whipped cream as it was delicious and I don't normally like whipped cream. I couldn't finish the dessert but really enjoyed the strawberries and whipped cream.I will definitely be back to try some of the other pizzas and items on the menu."

"Saw Sal's when going to my doctor. Looked them up online to see what things they had on the menu. The Caprese pizza caught my eye. I asked for extra cheese and got it! The ingredients are very fresh and you can taste the goodness. The crust is very good... I don't normally eat crust, but I did on this pizza. It's a little more expensive than I would normally pay, but once in a while for a good pizza, I will splurge. The inside is small, but there are several booths if you want to eat inside. There is also outside seating. The service was good and it didn't take long for my order to be ready."

"We continue to always have good food from this location. If I'm craving wings, nothing is better than the grilled barbalo wings. They are always perfect. Husband enjoys their sandwiches and pizza, but this time he decided to try their boneless wings with habanero lime and loved it. We also shared the jalapeno poppers which are excellent.Take out service is fast & friendly during these covid times. They also have a lot of room inside to space folks out. You can order online via different services, but I prefer to call and make sure our dollars are going straight to them. Was just saying to Husband this weekend that I don't believe we've ever had anything from here that we didn't like and he agreed."

"Love this place! This is the old Golden Corral off of hwy 42 near Panera. Made an online reservation for 9, checked in when we got there and that was so simple. The restaurant is large and cozy feeling. Al was our server and he was very helpful and interactive. The menu is large but not overwhelming. All of the food was delicious but honestly my son's kids meal pizza was my favorite of the night! I can't wait to go back and order a pizza for myself. The cheese was melted perfectly and crust not too thick or thin and crispy. Prices are on the higher end for me but the food is good so definitely worth the treat! Definitely recommend"

"GARLIC KNOTS.I shouldn't have to say anything more, but I will. These are the best garlic knots I've ever had and it is not even close. Most knots look like crescent rolls topped with chopped garlic, parm, and fresh parsley. These looked almost like rice balls, as if they were deep fried. And they were swimming in a heavenly bath of olive oil, garlic, and parm. If that's not enough, we got 5 of them for a little over six bucks! Absolute steal. I lived in Chicago for 20 years so I've had my share of deep dish pizza. I even worked at a famous deep dish place for a time. I won't mention the name, I'll just tell you it was not in the west...anyway, I ordered a medium meathead pizza, which was about 12 inches, cut into 8 slices, so these weren't big. I think I might have cut it into 6, but it worked out for the best. It did take about 40 or so minutes to come out, which they explain on the menu.Very good quality meats: sliced sausage, thick chopped bacon, some pepperoni and beef as well. Sauce was pretty good. As for the crust it held up very well, it did not fall apart, which is so important. The flavor of the crust was not the best I've ever had, but I added some of the oil and garlic from the knots and that helped! Very friendly server who was moving fast to keep customers happy, which I certainly appreciate. I don't usually have a craving for deep dish at this point, but this is a place I'll certainly return to at some point."

"Take-out at HG is easy and when we called to ask about curbside pickup, the employee quickly offered to bring our order out to us. We were able to pay over the phone curbside and someone came out for a signature and she was wearing a mask.I wasn't thrilled to find out at pickup that the potato salad I ordered was not available but they were able to add pasta salad while we waited. Not a big deal, I realize restaurants are getting back into the swing of things under a different landscape right now. The pasta salad was delicious and it was a generous serving. The avocado wrap was delicious and included the tomato basil wrap that I requested. We have been looking for a good takeout place to replace some of the restaurants we enjoyed before the pandemic and HG is looking like a good option for us. Rock on, HG."

"Annie our server was the BEST! I came here tonight with my sister, 2 adult nephews, and my brother in law. Annie suggested items to us as we were taking forever to figure out what we wanted. We ordered fried calamari and fried mozzarella to start with. She came right out with appetizer plates and fresh hot bread. We finally figured out what we wanted and we were all pleased with our choices. The eggplant rollatini I had was so big I only ate one roll out of the three. We were all pleasantly surprised that a sald came with each dinner as a lot of places have done away with that. My brother in law had the chicken sorrentino and he was surprised at the size of his dish as well.he has lived here for years and never been here and will definitely be his new hang out."

We ordered our calzone with "double pepp", the house cab, slice, and a caprese salad. We enjoyed sitting at the bar near the front window, watching sports, and chatting with the staff. We went on a whim, just happen to be in the area and wanted something good. It's located on a busy street in a busy parking lot, so get your mind right. Really, prepare yourself (especially if you are going during a high traffic time) as there are people and cars EVERYWHERE. However, the actual shop is small but clean. You can tell it is older but nothing that will scare you away. The menu is pretty practical and simple - Pizza, wings, salads, sub, etc. the norm you would look to find at a Pizzeria. I took a look at the menu and was surprised to see they had fried Zucchi available - YUM!We ordered Chef Salad with ranch which came with garlic breadFried ZucchiChicken Philly Cheesesteak with peppers, cheese, mayo, and onions Large Ranch The order took about 15 mins to be prepared and everything was fresh and hot. The fried zucchi was sooo crunchy and seasoned very well. You received a very large portion for the cost (greatly appreciated!). The salad was HUGE with meat, cheese, hard boiled egg, and cheese. We ate on that salad for two days and each time it was just as good as the first time! The breadsticks were okay, nothing really special about them - just breadsticks lol. Oh, the ranch, THE RANCH! It was soooo good on EVERYTHING. Please get an extra one or three when you order and thank me later!The cheesesteak was the winner of the meal. Tender chicken, veggies cooked soft and cut perfectly to match the size of the meat. Not tooo much mayo, just enough to enjoy on the sandwich and a good amount of cheese to top it off. "I've been here a few times now and never had a bad meal from salads to pizzas. It's conveniently next door to a Hertz location I visit so I always try to plan the lunches for Mamma Mia. The owners are usually there and seem really nice. Indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of easy parking. Most recently I was hosting a training and needed to feed a lot of people. We went in for their huge pizzas (and they are HUGE!). This thing literally barely fits in the back of an suv. We picked up three with a variety of toppings. Everyone at the training loved the pizza for its taste and novelty size. I highly recommend you check these out if you're hosting. It's a win win for taste and conversation piece. They also have a great lunch special. I usually get this two slice lunch special (theme here...the slices are huge) and a drink. Overall this is a great local spot! I always look forward to my Apex trips because of this lunch gem."

Ok, they were busy so can forgive the delay, but the pizza was flavorless. Like zero. Would have been better off with frozen. 2 stars cuz hubs did enjoy his sub but fries he got came out cold and soggy. Pizza Amore in wf is much better choice!"

"Been wanting to come here for a minute and decided to today and glad I did. I started with the mimosa flight which came with 3 glasses of one juice each:orange, cranberry and lavender . They were the bomb, the lavender one was my favorite. I got the chicken and waffle sandwich and chose breakfast potatoes as my side. The sandwich was good but it can get messy especially if you put syrup on it, end up using my fork towards the end. Overall good brunch for a Saturday and definitely will be back soon."

"When we want to eat at the larger location of Anna's we come out here to Fuquay. The staff is young and nice, but could use some guidance at times. While I like the smaller vibe in Apex, sometimes the coziness there is a little too close. The staff is more mature there too.All that being said, I love the variety of pasta sauces offered at Anna's. My favorite is the creamy Vermouth and I get it everytime. The dish I love comes with that sauce and Italian sausage, spinach, and sundried tomatoes. The leftovers make me happy too!My spouse got angel hair with marinara and fresh mushrooms, which she enjoyed, but it was a bit heavy on the sauce so next time she'll make mention. We tried the garlic bread this time, which honestly was a letdown. Very dry and not much garlic flavor. I've never tried the pizza because the pasta is too good to pass up. Maybe one of these days!"
