"This is a fairly new restaurant in the RM area. I dropped in one Saturday afternoon. No reservation was required. We were seated immediately. The restaurant was clean and well-lit. The music the DJ played was very entertaining. I can see this as a decent lively brunch spot for those into these vibes.The server (I think the server name was Angela) was great here. It took almost 45 minutes to get our food. Definitely should have something complimentary to snack on until the kitchen preparation time is improved. When the food arrived the temperature was off. The food was not piping hot. The food was decently good besides the temperature. I had the fish and waffles. The mimosas were overpowering with orange juice.The experience for me can be leveled up by serving guest food with real eating utensils and glasses. I was served my mimosa in plastic cups and eating utensils were also plastic. Real silverware should be an option. Maybe this is only a Saturday thing but drinking cocktails from plastic is unpleasant for me."

"First off, excellent and friendly customer service. I really appreciated the hospitality from the moment I arrived to when I paid for my check. I ordered a burger and fries which came out to be about $20. For the quality, i felt like it was worth every penny. The fries was the MVP. It was fried so perfectly and crispy. What a work of art! The burger was good and fulfilling. I feel like it could've been better but better than average.Overall, pretty cool spot for a burger and beer if you're interested!"

"Gotta love Big Ed's! This is an additional location of the Raleigh-famous good ole country restaurant that started in Downtown Raleigh. I moved to Clayton a few years ago, but worked in Garner. I was glad to find out there was a location much closer. This restaurant is located off Benson Rd in a shopping center with a Food Lion and various other business and restaurants. There is plenty of parking, but just keep in mind it's not just Big Ed's so you may have to look for a park. I've never had an issue finding a park though and there's Handicapped parks readily available as well. There is a specific door for entering the restaurant which takes you directly to the host stand to check-in. Be aware that during breakfast hours on the weekends especially there may be a wait, but it usually moves fairly quickly so don't be discouraged if you see a line or people waiting. Now on to the food...Good ole country food at good prices! Although most people probably come for breakfast, lunch options are also good and they are also open for dinner or some days as well. The lunch and dinner menu varies daily, so make sure to check their website or call the restaurant for that day's menu. You generally can't go wrong here in my opinion! I've always been pleased with anything I've ordered. I usually get the 2 egg with meat breakfast. The omelettes are good and large as well as the catfish. Be warned...the pancakes are HUGE! It's what Big Ed's is known for so don't think you can order 3 and eat them all in one sitting."

Some believe this is because it was originally eaten by pinching between the thumb and finger, making the shape of a rooster's beak. Pico de gallo, however, has nothing to do with roosters, or birds in general. Pico de gallo is a salsa popular with Mexican food, like tacos, nachos, or quesadillas and has nothing to do with Pizza!!!So, to put it simply, this "so called" pizzeria is anything but a pizzeria. It's nothing more than an old convenience store selling the same mediocre "99 Cent" pizza you can find spread the 5 Burroughs of NYC. Cheers!"

"I am a pretty picky eater, but I do like Turkish Food (a similar cuisine), so when Lebanese friend mentioned coming to Sassool, I was game! The menu has a lot of nice meal options available. We ordered our food at the counter and someone brought our meals out to our table.I had a spinach pizzette, it was awesome! I sampled a bit of my friend's Baba Ghanouj, so tasty. The highlight for me was the fresh pita bread, absolutely mouth watering. The food was so flavorful! My friend loves this place too, so it's the real deal. I can't wait to come back and eat here again. The restaurant is located in a strip mall next to Trader Joe's, so come grab a meal before you do your grocery shopping."

"This is acquaint, cafeteria style, kind of fast food place, that is very reminiscent of Island food owned by a fellow 'rican. The empanadas (which are more Pastelillos in my vernacular) are super plump, chalk full of goodies on the inside that will make your toes curl! Fried to perfection, crispy, golden, and delicious - not greasy. We also ordered the loaded Tostones. They were great! Not the healthiest lunch, but it certainly hit my soul - our soul food. Bachata, salsa, merengue, bomba, plena, tres chorreao, aguinaldo... island symphony on a plate. No time for weight watchers here. You just sink in and go to town.If there's one complaint I have - I found it a little bit over seasoned/heavy-handed on Sofrito. It wouldn't hurt him to cut back just a tad. Recao city... it's one of those herbs that you really have to treat with respect, great earthy and strong flavored it can tend to overwhelm the other deliciousness in the Puerto Rican. meripoix. Other than that, I would never turn down his food, dude can cook for me any day! Buen provecho, amigos!"

"WoW! I had never had Dogslingers, and that was my mistake. Today on the day of The Bear season three dropping, I finally stopped by to grab some dogs. I had also never had an italian beef sandwich, and Im glad my first came from here. The brick and mortar just opened yesterday. The stars all aligned for this meal. Husband and I went in with huge expectations. We also purchased approximately three meals worth of food. I had a conversation with the owner about the various ways to order an italian beef. I decided to get my au jus on the side, my giardiniera mild, and added cheese. This made for a meaty melty delicious flavor combo. Everything is just right. I also had a Chicago dog. This isnt like something I've ever had before and I was super into it! Also ordered was an angry dog, this was done well and I like that the dogs are cut down the center...creating a valley for the toppings. We had fries that were pretty standard and something called pasta poppers. Garlicky noodles in a ball that are deep fried. Like an arancini but different, dangerously yummy. The owners and staff are wonderful and welcoming. In the culinary world that often tries to reinvent the wheel, they are slinging classic favorites executed flawlessly."

"Tl;dr: Tasty fried chicken with a great seasoning mix and helpful staffCalled in an order for some wings after work and was told that they only have jumbo wings -- not an issue. I'll take a jumbo version of something that I had my mind on! I also ordered it with potato salad and fries (so that I could snack on some fries on the way home, heh). The wings came out perfectly crispy on the outside with a delicious batter. The actual chicken were well seasoned and not dry at all! I've seen some reports of the chicken having blood in it which may have been cook/user error as to not burn the outside, but not my order. The potato salad was delicious! It was perfectly creamy and chunky in the right places. The fries were standard crinkle-cut fries which aren't my favorite but after a long day with no lunch... I'd take any fried potato product. The gentleman who helped me was kind and was open to me asking questions as it was my first time there. I just moved to the area so I think this will be my go-to fried chicken wing joint."

"The food was freaking phenomenal. Super authentic place with very flavorful food with great textures (tender smokey meats and mouth watering dishes all around). We ordered the chicken platter and the mixed grill platter of steak and lamb. Both were incredible. Loved the soups, super flavorful. The chicken soup has little pasta stars and tastes kinda lemony and blew my mind. Green lentil soup was fantastic as well.Falafel delicious crispy and steamy. All the food tasted super fresh. So good. Hummus and baba ghanoush come with pita bread. Those were super good too. And the hot sauce that came out with the grilled platters was awesome and tasty too! Running out of adjectives haha it was good! Flavorful with a kick and went nicely with the Mandy rice (rice cooked with lamb broth).The only downside is the parking lot can get packed. We actually tried eating here last night and couldn't get a parking spot. The lot and the lot for the market next door were completely full. Also, the service moves at a glacial pace (don't come here if you're in a rush). I ordered hot tea at the start and didn't receive it until the end of the meal with our falafel and before we got the check. The food seems to come out in a somewhat random order? And kinda dirty as mentioned in other reviews (cigarette butts etc).All the reviews I read before coming here have been accurate: painfully slow service and kinda dirty (we sat on the outdoor patio). I called beforehand to check if they allow dogs because of the outdoor seating and the woman on the phone was kinda ambiguous and weird about it, asking if the dog was small and saying that they had other customers (we have a Saint Bernard) implying without saying it that customers would be uncomfortable with big dogs but I think she was probably projecting because nobody cared. In the end she admitted that they had a table available and said she would prepare it for us (the patio was empty besides one table). It's definitely kinda dirty but I also think that there's maybe not enough wait staff to handle the customer load.The review is basically just for the food. You get a ton of it, it's all incredible, and so worth the wait. Definitely will return again! Next time we'll try the desserts!"

"I came here around 3:10pm on a Monday afternoon to get lunch with a friend. It wasn't very busy as there were about 3 parties eating and one party reviewing the menu. The aroma when I first walked in was amazing. After reviewing the menu, our order was placed at 3:17pm. I got the jam-tastic burger with fries. My friend build his own burger. The food came at 3:23pm. My burger was delicious, as expected. I got this the previous time I was here. My friend enjoyed his burger as well. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful! The cashiers also walk around and clean the tables and check on the customers, which is awesome. No complaints at all. Mondays are their burger special day, so that's the day to go!!"

"This sub shop was really good. They have a lot of options, my husband and I both chose a half Jersey Boy! Club and my mom chose a half meatball sub. All subs come straight up, that includes lettuce, onion, tomato, salt, Jersey Juice and spices. I also added mayo and honey mustard. The meat was thinly sliced and all of the subs were tasty. "Came here off a heavy recommendation while downtown Raleigh. Considering it was cold out, coming to a local coffee shop was just what we wanted. You can view to accompanying photos to see the inside, it's really tasteful and the ambiance is calm and chill. We noticed the cleanliness of this establishment is top notch (including the bathrooms). Service was great, just one worker behind the counter but she was able to keep up. She was so friendly and helped us with ordering what we were in the mood for. I got the Lucettegrace HOT coffee which is two espresso shots with steamed condensed milk. This is exactly what I was looking for and one of the best sweet hot coffee drinks I've had. We also got a chai tea latte which was absolutely delicious. Now on top of the bomb drink experience we got a pastry which I forgot the name of however what was awesome was that the girl ended up giving us a free baklava croissant. "GARLIC KNOTS.I shouldn't have to say anything more, but I will. These are the best garlic knots I've ever had and it is not even close. Most knots look like crescent rolls topped with chopped garlic, parm, and fresh parsley. These looked almost like rice balls, as if they were deep fried. And they were swimming in a heavenly bath of olive oil, garlic, and parm. If that's not enough, we got 5 of them for a little over six bucks! Absolute steal. I lived in Chicago for 20 years so I've had my share of deep dish pizza. I even worked at a famous deep dish place for a time. I won't mention the name, I'll just tell you it was not in the west...anyway, I ordered a medium meathead pizza, which was about 12 inches, cut into 8 slices, so these weren't big. I think I might have cut it into 6, but it worked out for the best. It did take about 40 or so minutes to come out, which they explain on the menu.Very good quality meats: sliced sausage, thick chopped bacon, some pepperoni and beef as well. Sauce was pretty good. As for the crust it held up very well, it did not fall apart, which is so important. The flavor of the crust was not the best I've ever had, but I added some of the oil and garlic from the knots and that helped! Very friendly server who was moving fast to keep customers happy, which I certainly appreciate. I don't usually have a craving for deep dish at this point, but this is a place I'll certainly return to at some point."

"What a nice surprise to find a Jubala coffee near NCSU! I've been to the one in Lafayette village and did not realize they have three Raleigh locations (North Raleigh, North Hills, and Hillsborough street by NCSU). The coffee and tea is just as good and pretty as the Lafayette village location. Maybe I went at a less busy time, but it was quick and easy to order and find a seat. Due to the heat I decided to dine inside. I placed an order at the counter and chose a seat at the table beside the kitchen. The blueberry pearl waffle and London fog latte arrived shortly. Now I'm sure they are more impressive since I don't know how they are made, but I don't care, I'll continue to be impressed and choose pearl sugar waffles whenever they are offered. This one in particular was larger than others I have seen and filled with delicious blueberries! The London fog accompanied the waffle well. The temperature was perfect, the design clear and aesthetic, and the flavor was present and faint (not overpowering). Overall, lovely place for breakfast, brunch, and coffee/tea!Parking: nearby lot and street parking available (free and paid options)Employees: welcoming, friendly, and helpfulAtmosphere: typical university coffee shop vibe. Reasonable noise level. Noise mainly from conversations and customers making phone calls. Bathrooms: located down the hall out the side door towards the Aloft foyer. "Pretty cool beer place on the northern end of downtown that I passed when walking back to my hotel. They had a few beers on draft with a list you can either scan a barcode or see at the bar. They also have a LOT of cans from which to choose as well. The prices on the cans that were marked (some were not which is a pet peeve) seemed pretty high for a single beer or multipack, so I ended up just getting a wheat draft from Trophy which I enjoyed very much. They gave me a sample first which was nice as well. Staff was friendly! Outdoor seating was nice too. This was a beer only visit as I think the kitchen was closed."

"Take-out at HG is easy and when we called to ask about curbside pickup, the employee quickly offered to bring our order out to us. We were able to pay over the phone curbside and someone came out for a signature and she was wearing a mask.I wasn't thrilled to find out at pickup that the potato salad I ordered was not available but they were able to add pasta salad while we waited. Not a big deal, I realize restaurants are getting back into the swing of things under a different landscape right now. The pasta salad was delicious and it was a generous serving. The avocado wrap was delicious and included the tomato basil wrap that I requested. We have been looking for a good takeout place to replace some of the restaurants we enjoyed before the pandemic and HG is looking like a good option for us. Rock on, HG."

And man was he spot on!We arrived just after 1 pm on a Monday and they were packed. Hubby and I ordered a full hoagie Harlem chopped cheese to share, my brother-in-law ordered one for himself. These sandwiches were large and loaded, definitely shareable. OMG it was so amazing! They make all their bread in house so I expected it to be good but it was a phenomenal hoagie. Then add the combination of ground beef, onions, cherry peppers, cheese and sauce - simply outstanding. It was meaty, cheesy and spicy. Must try item!Don't forget about the grocery items. They were selling everything from pasta and wine to ready to eat meals and ice cream bars.Keep in mind the hours are limited, Thursday through Monday 12-3. The seating was limited as well, a couple picnic tables out front. Do not let this stop you! Plan ahead and get to Ideal's ASAP!"

"I really enjoyed this little stop. It seems to cater to the locals. We saw many workers there on their lunch breaks. I thought that the foster burger was really good and well prepared. The butter bun is a nice touch. You could tell that the beef was freshly ground and was cooked to order. I had the loaded fries which had chili, onion, cheese and jalapeños and I would say that it was average to above average. The Gentleman taking orders was super friendly and certainly was good at his job as the line moved fairly quickly despite the high volume of folks. My husband and I stopped in for lunch were dressed in athletic clothes which wasn't a big deal but I definitely noticed that the majority of people there were dressed in "real clothes" it is a very dark restaurant with white table clothes which gives it that "nicer" feel for sure. It's not a huge restaurant but I am not a fan of two top tables that are directly next to someone else to where you feel like you know all about the other person by the time you are done which is where we were sat. The Beef on Weck was delicious, I highly recommend. I can't wait to try additional menu items but for me personally inside it's more of a dinner atmosphere."

"The fam and I wanted to do something different to switch up our normal socially distant park activities. We decided to grab takeout from the belted goat and walk around Fearrington Village so my son could check out the actual goats. We went on a Saturday morning and while there were some people there it wasn't crowded at all. The belted goat has a tent setup with tables across from their pickup window. This was the closest my family and I have been to dining out since mid-March. I liked that you could grab your food and sit on your own. The tent had maybe 10-15 tables and there was only one other table being used while we were there. It felt very safe! I also liked that they updated all their COVID information on Yelp and they followed through with everything on site. Staff had masks and gloves on. On to the food, I enjoyed my breakfast! I got the eggs benedict and it was quite tasty. The hollandaise was delicious and had a nice lemony kick to it. I also enjoyed the homemade english muffin and huge portion of tater tots that came with it. I got an iced chai which was perfect for the humid morning, iced wasn't an option in their online ordering system so I just ordered hot and added a note to please make it iced. My husband got the bacon and egg sandwich and didn't enjoy it as much since the english muffin was hard to eat. My son ordered the berry scone and it was delicious. I'd definitely return for breakfast or give them a try for lunch/dinner soon!"
