The Goat Rittenhouse

Stopped in for a drink ~9:45pm on a Monday at the recommendation of a local bartender. Vibe seemed cool, but service was.....chilly. Felt like it was too close to closing and bartender didn't want any new business. After perusing the QR menu, which was sparse, I asked for a high noon and a watermelon one was essentially thrown at me. I don't particularly like watermelons and would have like to have known if there were any other flavors available, but the message was clear(get out!), so I left asap. Would try again in what the staff may consider more desirable hours.

We went here last night for drinks and our experience was horrible! We walked in and saw people we knew so we stood next to them to talk, within a minute, the bouncer told us we needed to move. We moved to a different area to stand and talk and the bouncer came over again telling us we couldn't stand there. We then went to the bar to order and a waitress came over and said we were in the way and needed to move. Finally, we went to sit down at a table to "get out of the way" and the bouncer said we couldn't sit there either unless we ordered food. We asked him where we should go then and he finally said we could sit there. There was no one eating at 9:30pm, so it was ridiculous! This was the worst experience we have ever had at bar in years!! We will never be back!

Came here on a Friday night because the boys wanted to play pool. I ordered a beer and a burger. I was very surprised with the burger. The burger was juicy and fatty. It was a classic American burger with American cheese, lettuce, and a sesame bun. I wish it was a thicker patty, but this is one of the better burgers I've had in Philly. They serve shoestring fries which are superior in my opinion. The fries were crunchy and flavored with garlic and parsley. The Goat was a great place for my group of friends to hang out. The guys all played pool. I was able to eat and drink with the girls at the bar. No customers were being routy. I had a great time! I will probably be back because the restaurant does a great job catering to a large group of people.

The Goat is one of those bars you really want to like. You make an excuse to go back after having a bad time or a bad meal or a bad drink or the staff are just flat out assholes and you think... "maybe this time will be better"Yet, it never improves. Every visit solidifies the fact that this place has all the entangles to be a great bar but just never will be.The food is sub par. The majority of the staff are entitled and assholes.I have given this place multiple chances and it never hits the mark.Good riddance.

Once I heard that The Goat Rittenhouse was reopening, I knew I had to plan a visit. My friends and I were looking for a place to have a casual (but cute) Saturday brunch before some Rittenhouse shopping. The Goat had plenty of reservations available the week of, so we made one for 12:45. When we arrived, we were asked to show our proof of vaccination. A picture on your phone is fine, as long as you also have ID. We were seated in a big cozy booth near a fire place. The vibes were truly immaculate.Each staff member we encountered was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. After a few minutes of not being able to decide between the great options (most of us wanted the brunch burger but were also considering the chicken and waffles), we placed our order. Drinks came quickly, while I did not drink, a friend tried the Maple Morning and loved it. My friends that were drinking found the cocktails to be worth the fair price point ($9 mimosa, $11 cocktail). I decided to get the burger and added avocado, bacon, and an egg because why not go all out for brunch. Friends tried the BLT and chicken and waffles too. The burger was delicious, that burger sauce was a highlight. The BLT came on the most delicious bread, well toasted and buttered. The tomatoes were fresh and the slab bacon was delicious. The friend that had the chicken and waffles enjoyed it, but wish the chicken had more seasoning. My only critiques would be that I wish the burger came with a side. I'm not a pickle girl. We opted to order a side of fries for the table, which was small for $7.We will definitely return and make this a regular brunch spot because I can't stop thinking about when I'll have that burger again. I'm also excited to try their dinner, the pictures of those Poutine Fries are incredible.

Went midday on a Sunday Father's Day. Place was empty. Sat myself. Served by the bartender. Ordered the BLT. Food and fries and service were all good, as one would expect on a slow day, but alas they delivered. Also enjoyed the music selection. Bathrooms not great but whatchu gonna do. Overall would recommend stopping in while out around Rittenhouse for a quick bite. Cannot speak to this place in the evening hours.

I have tried to give this place a chance, coming back time after time, but I will NEVER again. The bartenders and management are incredibly rude, condescending and inhospitable. As shared in several other reviews, this place is not worth your time.

The Goat is one of my favorite spots to stop in on a hot muggy day and sample the crafty draughty selections. The GM -- Ugg I'll have to get her name -- a most delightful and welcoming host! On my first visit, she was sitting opposite me at the bar and overheard my convo with the barman. She eagerly had many more details to share about each of the draught selections. Wow.THIS PLACE IS HIPOn a prime night, the billiards are ballin' and the burgers are beggin' and the beers are burrin' -- SO COLD! Kitchen closes at midnight, so it's an awesome spot for a late-night cheeseburger or mac-n-cheese.Like I said, the real stars are the choices of beers that they are rotating in. I've not had a brew-som(elier?) OH THE BURGER!The burger! It's smash-style and prepared on the rare side of mid-rare (perfection), with the best sesame bun to go with it. Of course, EVERYTHING tastes better with a fried egg, and this burger is no exception!Oosh, my mouth is watering just thinking about the memory of that burger, i can't wait to have it again.Sides are additional, so if it's just a burger you're after, you can keep it on the $$.

Very rude wait staff!!! Bartenders are not friendly or welcoming. The staff acts like you are inconveniencing them by just being there. They have So many rules to just get a simple drink with friends. They won't let you just stand at the bar area. Don't bother. There are other bars with amazing bartenders

The wait staff is incredibly rude. Shocking you can keep a place open when they treat their customers like they're inconveniencing them. One staff member came up from behind to my friends and I after we had been there for about 15 minutes and asked to see our IDs. we gladly gave them to her but while she was looking at our IDs she made comments under her breath and was incredibly snarky and rude. We decided to leave at after that interaction before we even ordered anything. On our way out I spoke with another staff member about the experience. Turns out she was the manager. She couldn't care less that her staff member was rude and unprofessional. Overall made me not want to return to this place. It's a shame, it's in a great area but really just disappointing
