Came here with my wife about an hour before it closed. It's located inside reading terminal market which is packed! A lot of options to choose from, which is nice. From the moment we walked up the all of the employees were very friendly and helpful. The process is very efficient. You order on the very right, move to left to pay, move around the corner to pick up fries and then down the line to pick up your sandwich. You stand in a yellow rectangle so you don't block egress, which is nice. We both ordered the classic cheesesteak, one with mushrooms and one without. One regular fries and one with bacon and cheese :) Food was delicious and cooked exactly as advertised. Plenty of meat, cheese and onions. Fries were crispy - well done. We would come back. Not sure why this place has a 2.8, we experienced much better.

Almost had to give this a 2, but I'm feeling generous. We were short on time, and instead of visiting a less obvious choice, we wound up at Reading Terminal and the only place in there I would get a sandwich was closed. So here we came. This experience is miserable, and the payoff just isn't there. You'll wait in a huge line, then pay and they give you a bag, then you have to go to the other side of a seating area and wait another 30-40 minutes for your food, constantly being told not to stand here or there, or move up by a pretty gruff line facilitator. I almost don't blame him, because it is Reading Terminal and he needs to keep things clear for the other merchants, but it is not a pleasant experience. And then you get your cheesesteak. I had the classic (philly/whiz/with as that is always my first try for a new place). The meat was bland, the cheese wasn't spread throughout, the bread was soggy, and it just isn't worth it for a sandwich you can get in a pizzeria anywhere, not just in Philadelphia. Don't recommend.

It is called a cheesesteak but the cheese was severely lacking. Felt that overall it could have had more flavor. Asked for it with onions and had maybe 5 pieces of onion. It wasn't bad, but not great either.

When in Philly, have to do the cheesesteak thing. So wandered through all the aisles and came to a line at Spataro's. Couldn't be happier. Cheesesteaks were great!

I'm sure these are not the only cheesesteaks in the Reading Market, but they were the ones I had and each bite was delicious. Lots of add-ons available. I opted for jalapeños, pickles, and banana peppers. Try to find a place to sit while you're waiting to pick up your sandwich.

Spataro's is located inside Reading Terminal Market. Lunchtime can be a little crazy here, so be prepared to wait a little. I was passing through Philadelphia for the day and was determined to get a cheesesteak before I head to my next destination. They have a classic and a royal cheesesteak or you can create your own. It is fun to watch the cooks bang their spatulas on the flat-topped griddle while firing up some rib eye steak, mushrooms and onions. In case you ordered a cheesesteak here and were wondering, they put the cheese on the bread and not on the top here at Spataro's.The classic cheesesteak I ordered here at Spataro's hit the spot. But sadly the customer service was lacking. Having an open kitchen and seeing co-workers argue with each other is not good for business.

I been to the Reading market many times but this was my first trying this vendor. There was a long line of customers which always intrigues me to see if the hype is worth it. I got the classic cheesesteak that comes with wiz, I opted out of the onions and added some sweet peppers. I love how they put the cheese on the bread instead of on top of the meat. This gives every bite the perfect combination of meat and cheese. The sandwich was also a little greasy which made it delicious. I really enjoyed my lunch and the long line was worth the wait.

The cheesecake was okay. I was starving, and I ate it all. But it wasn't great. It was sorely lacking in cheese. And damn the guys serving the sandwiches were pretty rude. Not the cheesesteak I'd envisioned. Sadly

If I could give 4.5 I would have! Enjoyed the experience and the food. The market place is pretty cool and there are a restaurants to choose from. We came about an hour before the market was closing and we landed on Spataro's. Glad we did. I am no cheesesteak expert but I know what I like and what tastes good. The staff were friendly and helped us through the process. They were efficient and our food was good. We ordered two classics- on one we added mushrooms. We also ordered a regular fries and a bacon and cheese fries. We brought it back to our hotel which was just across the street. Everything was hot and good. The meat was nice and tender, there was plenty of wiz and I had the one with mushrooms and it was so good. I would have liked more mushrooms but that is the case with anything I eat. The order of fries were huge and my bacon and cheese was really yummy. I would have like a touch more cheese but overall yum. In this case I am glad I did not look at the Yelp reviews first as I may have missed out on this yumminess.

I almost didn't get a cheesesteak here because of the relatively low rating on Yelp but I'm so glad I did. It was delicious! I got the cheesesteak with provolone, sweet peppers, mayo, bacon, mushrooms and onions. I was there at 5:30pm on a Thursday and it wasn't a long line. I was able to order fast and it was ready in about 5 minutes. It was piping hot and still hot by the time I got back to my hotel. So so good. I wasn't sure about the bacon but really glad I got it, it wasn't overwhelming and really added a nice flavor. And the mayo was also really the perfect amount. I would come back here in a second!
