I follow a foodie and was sent here by his video. Italian hoagie was ordered. I guess they give you more meat when you have a foodie page. Bread and meat were fresh. But it was as bat minimum amount of meat on sandwich. I would have paid extra for a packed hoagie. Definitely not like what I saw online. Disappointed.

I love this place. Edward and the nice woman who works the cash register are very friendly, which I imagine is difficult given the amount of obnoxious stuff they have to deal with on a daily basis there. Also, they always have Chex mix in stock, which is a critical element to my lifestyle.

I wish I could tell you about the sandwiches, or the selection of snacks, but I don't know anything about that. What I know is that I promised to provide ice for a party nearby (a necessity for any party, and something that will get you in just about anywhere), and I was late and frantic.Olde City may not pick up the phone...ever, but they sell ice for $2.50/bag, they have plenty of it, they are conveniently located, and the guy at the counter seemed nice enough as I ran in, grabbed ice, and threw money at him. Thanks to them, I have not been disowned by my family.

The hoagies are surprisingly good at Old City Food Market. They are actually better than the more well known hoagie shops in Old City. It's a hidden gem when it comes to hoagies, made with good Dietz & Watson meats. But...It's called Old City FOOD MARKET. As a market it leaves a lot to be desired. It's cash only, which is a disgrace in 2019. The selection is limited, most notably when it comes to bread. Doesn't everyone need to buy bread? The prices are too high, especially considering cheaper options have opened up nearby in recent years like CVS, which does sell food as well. I've never seen anything at the market go on sale, except for hoagie rolls that are about to go stale. They take advantage of the sad fact that there is no grocery store in Old City. So I'm forced to stop by occasionally in a pinch since I live close by. But the only time I'm actually happy to be there is when I'm ordering a hoagie.

We need more of these non-commercialized homestyle local joints!!This is the nicest and largest midsized mart that I have been to since moving from new york city. I no longer need to double check the expiration date..def. has a sense of family owned kinda feel. It is almost as large as a conventional grocery store. The workers are chill and are always on the move keeping everything perfectly stocked. The lower stars on these reviews seem to be focused on the pricing but they forgot to mention this ain't a cheap 7-11. You get actual organic items to gourmet chocolates to hand made subs. It's the great local hometown market. You get higher end products you see in whole foods or farmers markets but Half the price!!The produce section is huge, they have all of the necessities: coffee, olive oil, vinegar, honey, granola, local pasta, in addition to the other standard items.I also saw them as a 3rd eunner up in the "Best Deli Hoggies in philly". Mad impressive.

Got ourselves an Italian and turkey hoagie. Delicious! I think my favorite was the Italian, it was delicious. Lots of good vegetables and a good portion of meat. They all went well with some pretzel chips and popcorn. :)

Olde City Food Market is one of my favorite one-stop "corner shops" in the city as a whole. They have a good selection of snacks as well as drinks and sandwiches. They sell the Meiji Hello Panda cookies, which I'm addicted to (although the ones at Olde City Food Market are rather pricey compared to those found at H-Mart or Chinatown). The folks who run the store are really nice, so it's an enjoyable experience overall. The store is CASH ONLY, so always keep that in mind!

What the Olde City Market is: conveniently located near my apartment. What the Olde City Market is not: inexpensive. ($2 more on average than larger stores)What the Olde City Market has: a larger than expected selectionWhat the Olde City Market doesn't have: cigars (several signs make this clear)What the Olde City Market accepts: CashWhat the Olde City Market does not accept: Credit Cards, Food Stamps, Checks or Money Orders. If you are in the area and need to pick up anything from an eye glass repair kit to a pound and a half of ham, stop in the Olde City Market. If your list is longer than 5 items long, head to Super Fresh. Your wallet with thank you.

Sketchy cash-only grocery store that is overpriced and poorly stocked. I'm not interested in helping a business cheat on its taxes or launder money, so I skip this place. There are other options within walking distance that are cheaper and more honest.
