K & J Caribbean American Diner

This is the main Jamaican spot I go to. The food is decent and it's easy to get to. The serving sizes are good for the price and I like that you can get 3 sides with a meal. There are a few seats indoors and outdoors. The servers are quick and attentive.

You get a ton of food. You can't finish the medium meal in one sitting. Not to mention it's $12. You can't shake a stick at that. I got the BBQ jerk chicken, rice and sweet potatoes. The sides are heavy too. The meal must've weighed a couple pounds. Food was pretty good. You pick a main and then you get 3 sides. They are all in metal serving containers so they can serve them right away. That being said it took about 20-25 minutes for me to get my meal but my friend got his immediately. That was strange. I got a seamoss shake too which was delicious. So if you're looking for bang for your buck than you're in luck!

This is my favorite Caribbean restaurant in this area. I use to live right around the corner from this location and the taste has only gotten better! I get the curry goat or bbq jerk chicken platters. It's been a long time and they now offer 3 sides with a medium or large platter. That's pretty cool considering that 2 sides are the norm in most places. I'm now a big fan of their sweet potatoes/candied yams though. The cabbage and rice with beans along with some plantains...whoooooo!! Go get you some!

Slightly biased because this is spot is owned by my fam. But this oxtail and mac and cheese was everything I needed and more!

I get by this place every once in a while and 9x out of 10, my food is flavorless. I git a large whiting platter w/mac greens and cabbage. The fish had absolutely no seasoning on it. The mac had no flavoring either. Green were not good either. Food was fresh, i will give them that, but when you go to a Jamaican spot, you are lioking for Jamaican flavor. I'm donevwith this place. Going to Rons Caribben on Broad st. I never have an issue with their food.

Excellent food. Jerk chicken is tender and the hot is not too spicy. Curry goat is also great. Patties had flaky dough and a good amount of filling. Rice and peas, candied yams, greens, mac and cheese, and potato salad were all delicious. You get a huge plate of food for a medium order. I can't believe I've just found out about this place. One of the best food options in Germantown.

We have been ordering from K&J since we moved to Philly. You can always count on the food being consistently good and flavorful.

Ruined my car seat with their careless way of packing their food. Food is overcooked and drenched in sauce to attempt to add flavor. Service is trash as if they are doing you a favor to take your money. Just go somewhere your money will be appreciated. Staff lies just to make sales and extremely rude like even ruder than the average Caribbean restaurant. Leaves me to wonder why are we even wasting our money at establishments that don't value customers imagine how they treat our food when no one is watching. Extremely uncourteous disrespectful and just bluntly rude for nasty food. Ambiance is non existent fold up tables and chairs just a complete no go. Will never return again.
