Food From The Heart

The beef ribs were very good. The side orders were extremely salty. This restaurant is located in an African American community. And high blood pressure is prevalent. If they lower the salt in their food, they would make a ton more money. At least from the people I know.

I ordered the pork ribs, potato salad (taste just like my momma's) and collar greens, and red velvet cake. Let me say everything was delicious. I was suppose to save half as I am on a diet but I ate it all in one sitting and fell asleep. I also received a free corn bread so I will have a little taste later. The customer service was excellent. I will be ordering again. I'm so sorry there isn't a picture. The potato salad came in a separate container. The presentation was great.

Food was great. The fried chicken/jerk chicken was a bit undercooked but tasted delicious otherwise. The sides were in point. Flavor was A+

I was in Philly and wanted some real food and support a Black Owned business. I goes straight to YELP to check out what was near me, and this spot came up and had decent reviews, so off I go to try it out. I ordered the fried fish and shrimp platter with cabbage and greens, a catfish sandwich, and corn on the cob. I'm so disappointed that I spent $42.66 and the food was TRASH!!! The whiting was old and dried out, the shrimp were fried hard on the outside and chewy on the inside, corn was overcooked and very difficult to bite into. My guy sad the catfish wasn't bad but the greens , tasteless and same for the cabbage. My biggest regret is that I didn't take pictures before trashing it!

I ordered a rib platter with Mac and cheese and yams. Honestly these were the best ribs I've eaten in years. The meat was tender and the sauce had the perfect amount of sweetness. The yams were also spectacular: fork tender and well seasoned. The only miss fit me was the mac, it just didn't compare to the other items. The service is accurate, efficient, albeit a bit gruff. I'll definitely be a repeat customer just of the strength of the ribs and yams alone.

Some of the best pork ribs I've had in a lonnnnng time. They're damn near perfect. Not over cooked and falling off the bone , they had the perfect amount of "pull" to them and a nice smoky "off the grill" flavor to them. Perfectly sauced too. The Mac and cheese , collard greens and sweet potatoes were all on point, and that seafood salad reminded me of that taste you get in Baltimore. Please go support these folks , they crank out some killer food

Got a rib platter with cabbage which was overcooked and mushy. potato salad was very wet ribs was nice and tender but the sauce was very salty, my daughter had chicken wings and side of Mac and cheese which she said was good, would order again, but not a platter

Good soul/comfort food spot. Ribs are hit are miss- massive bones and meat is sometimes minimal/some are mostly bone with fatty meat, but if you get a good order they're very good. Everything else (especially the jerk chicken) is really good.

I appreciate this business for being professional and food is definitely delicious always fresh I've tasted most of the menu this is black owned but it's not ghetto black owned when I had a problem with my food the server corrected the cook with no hesitation he noticed the problem before me seafood salad and tuna salad A-1 not store bought cakes a good too
