I'm not really a morning person so when I woke up bright and early fully energized craving a good breakfast I thought today would be a great day but after eating breakfast I was wrong. I normally don't eat breakfast but if I do I normally go to Sunnyside up on 78th and Ogontz. Since I had work later on Dawns was quicker cause it's right around the corner. I ordered the Hungry Mans breakfast which was 2 meats eggs and GRITS. After about a 15 minute wait with only one other person there i took my food and went home. I started eating my food everything was hot and tasted just ok. Turkey bacon was good but it's Turkey bacon so whatever. I did get butter on my grits so was shocked on how bland they were. After eating a good portion of my food I decided to eat the rest later. I went to start take a nap before work. Soon as I hit my bed my mouth felt watery. At first I thought maybe the feeling would subside it got worse. I realized I'm going to throw up. I went downstairs to my bathroom and started throwing up. For about 15 minutes straight. I'll spare the details but let's just say I knew it was the grits. I will never eat here again. Next time I'll just follow my instincts and go the extra 6 blocks to where I normally go. Thanks for a ruined Monday morning

Its a negatoni for me. Food tastes so so, appearance is the worse wipe your own table before you sit down, but when you call in your order the chics who answer need attitude adjustments seriously. They answer as if they are doing you a favor period. Do better Dawn!

The food wasn't bad but it took a little longer than usual to get it. What I DON'T LIKE is that they don't give you the itemized bill before you pay so that you can make sure that what your being billed for is correct. When I asked to see the bill they told me "Its at the register". I notice quite a few small owned businesses are doing this. Clearly you are being ripped off. The owner billed my sister and I for extra cheese and onions on a omelet that we never ordered and he was very adamant about wanting us to pay for it. Eventually the waitress said that she picked up the wrong bill. The owner never once apologized. I also did not like the condescending way in which he publicly spoke to his employees.I won't be going back!

Went here after we couldn't get into Relish and it paid off as the food was pretty good. We had everything from grits, eggs, toast, french toast, sausage, bacon and pancakes. My kids loved their Mickey Mouse shaped pancake. Delicious and fair prices.

I love Dawn's. I started going here before my son's little league football games for the Mt. Airy Bantams. It can take a minute to get your food so it's better to call ahead but everything I have had I have enjoyed. My daughter loves the Chicken and Waffles. Next to me making breakfast this is her favorite from anywhere. I get the Fish and Grits with a side order of Dawns (hash browns with peppers, onions and cheese).I have had their cheese omelets too. Like I said everything has been worth the trip. You can eat in or take out. The eat in space is limited to two large tables for four, four tables for two and counter seating on stools for about 5.They have a ever revolving staff but they are always very friendly. I am a big fan of this place!

Not my favorite breakfast place to eat but I'm literally addicted to their waffles. Service takes a while but it's good enough

The old lady that answered the phone is very rude. She slammed the phone down on me and did not even know if I was calling to place an order or not.

This is a nice place to go for breakfast or brunch. It's located up from the Oak Lane plaza, so it has the "downtown" suburb-ish feeling going of it. As for the quality of food, it was okay. Bacon was nice and crisp, fried eggs were okay, although my toast was moldy. My party I was with told me they go there all the time and do not have problems like that, but it was still a little of putting to say the least.3 stars.

DO NOT ENTER!We've all been to greasy spoon restaurants and we all have our favorites among them but Dawn's is definitely not in the discussion.Sticky floors, sticky tables, non-chalant service, and inedible food. Dawn's is a place to avoid all together. The prices are ok if the food was edible but with what I got I wouldn't even take it for free.

Went to Dawn's for breakfast on a Friday morning before heading to PennDot. I ordered chicken and waffles. My husband had scrapple, eggs, and French toast. The wait for the food was a bit long (approximately 25 minutes). Perhaps it was because I ordered chicken because there weren't many ppl in the restaurant. The waffle was delicious. It was nice, fluffy and warm. My only takeaway was there was way too much butter on it. I would have preferred for them to put the butter on the side as opposed to on my waffle. My husband said the same about his French toast. There was so much butter on it to the point that it made the toast soggy. The chicken wings were bland. My husband didn't like his scrapple. It was a bit undercooked in his opinion. Overall, the waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Customer service would get a 4, food would get a 2. Hence 3 stars overall.
