Oh my goodness! What a gem! Stumbled upon this place looking for a meal during the Juneteenth parade and we were pleasantly surprised! We ordered whiting plates with fries and the fish was cooked perfectly! And so much fish for $7! I was able to off of the plate for a couple meals. Our group also ordered the potato salad (risky I know) and omg it was amazing! You have to be skeptical about other peoples potato salad but this was absolutely delicious!And if you're there, try some of the homemade juice in the fridge. We got three different flavors and they were all good! The owners/workers were so sweet and I truly felt at home here. We would go back in a heart beat!

Bottom of the sea has always been if not my favorite, it's one of my favorite seafood spots around the way, no no matter of fact they are. For years I been going here for my regular platter of Alaskan snow crabs with steamed shrimp that came with potatoes, corn on the cob, and broccoli packed in garlic butter sauce back when they were $15. But now as time changed prices went up so currently the last platter I had was $30. Called it in for delivery so that was another plus on this day cause sometimes you have to check cause they might not deliver. It is a small fee but nothing crazy its light. Everything was good when it came. Nice and hot, looking fresh and still packed. Gotta be careful still with that sauce just in case you not in the house for the day cause it can spill over on you and your clothes if you not paying attention. Only ate half of my platter cause like I said it's more than enough but it was good. Only complaint I have but I had actually forgot until this day is, they changed the sauce like tweaked it to a funny lemon taste to the garlic sauce now. Its not garlicky and buttery like it use to be and when it was...that's what kept you coming back. This updated sauce been around recently for about the last 3yrs and I wish they toss it and bring back the old sauce.Other than that if you can get pass the lemon butter sauce this is the spot for West and Southwest ppls seafood craving spots.

Nice friendly service, good prices, and very good food. The owner was nice enough to take a picture with me and my cousin. I also love that you get a complimentary dessert with the purchase of a platter.

Small place, but the food and hospitality is awesome. If you are at the Juneteenth Festival, stop by....Had the fish (whiting) sandwich and a side of collard greens

Well I have to say, just don't go at night or you'll be risking your actual life but honeyyyy this remains my absolute favorite. The garlic butter sauce is sooooo delicious. Just go in the daytime and call ahead to be in and out.

I was really craving some crab fries one day and seen this place on Yelp was nearby so I ordered that and a steamed shrimp platter... So... I liked that they called when my order was ready. And it took the typical 20 minutes or so to complete. I did not like that the cheese sauce on the crab fries was so thick n bland, that it was hard to swallow. I mean, I even added some of my own seasoning at home to see if it helped... Nah, the sauce was still just too thick. But the steamed shrimp platter was okay. Not bomb enough to encourage me to reorder anything. Not any time soon anyway.I mean, All in all... I'm sure they make decent stuff there. the staff was really nice when my daughter and I arrived. But I just ordered bc it was conveniently located and probably could've went to the market and been more satisfied.

All of my respect is due to this establishment and the owner Jeff. Jeff was extremely hospitable to my group of friends who came to eat after the Roots Picnic. When I say extremely hospitable, I mean he went and made seating available when it wasn't available. That's the kind of establishment you're dealing with when you eat at The Bottom Of The Sea Soul (one that cares about the customer). The food...lets just say I'm glad we found this restaurant! The portion size was beyond satisfactory(I actually could've taken some home if I wasn't being greedy) and the food tasted like I had a home cooked meal. Much love, much blessings.

I ordered from here because I wanted seafood and didn't feel like cooking. I got the steamed shrimp platter and a side of yams. The shrimp were 26-30 size at best, very small for the price. the yams were disgusting. I know yams are candied but these had so much sugar they could have caused a diabetic coma. Needless to say I won't be returning here.

Best seafood around! I stop in every couple of weeks to get the Dungeness crab and fried shrimp platter. It's amazing and the guys that work there are always friendly and greet you with a smile.
