I stumbled upon this restaurant grabbing boba next door at the The Alley a few weeks ago. Back home we love our authentic Filipino foods! So, decided to get a take out order to just try a little something...Pancit Bihon. Certainly pricy at $17, but they are trying to have a higher end appeal which I could tell by there inside ambience and decor. So we were crazy pleased with it! Not only did they have lime slices, they had a container with lime juice as well. It was really good! I actually had been graving it since then and wanting to try other things. So, that brings me to where their rating just drops. Time was limited, so I wanted to place a to go order. I called the number on Yelp, no answer...and oddly it goes to a cell phone. I decided to try a Google search to see if there was a different number there and ensure the hours aligned with Yelp. So yes, they showed open, but different phone number. I called 3x and no one ever answered. When I pulled up, they were open, but just don't answer the phone? Red flag number 1.I place an order to go of the Pancit Bihon ($17), Lechon Kawali ($19), and Adobo ($19). When I brought the food into my car, it literally smelled like garbage. That should of been red flag number 2. I do want to add the girl that took my order was very friendly and nice!So the review of the foods that we ate right away at home (still hot):1. Pancit - this it what smelled like garbage and tasted like the smell! It had no lime, no lime juice, and literally tasted like they pulled it from the trash or it has been left pre prepped for WAY to long and reheated! NOTHING like first experience. We threw it away, so a complete waste of money.2. Adobo - This is not adobo, it is more like a marinated Teriyaki meat. One bite and we were like big no. So again, waste of money number 2.3. Lechon Kawali- now the pork was fried well, prefer the smaller diced pieces, but not a deal breaker. There was ZERO sauce (usually has a soy vinegar sauce), not tomatoes or onions to mix in and add that sauce, so it was just meh. Luckily, I made my own sauce and cut it up. This was the only dish eaten.I don't think we will return. We wasted too much money for it to be so bad. Consistency matters in the restaurant industry and this order had too many downfalls.

The restaurant is in the booming Katy Asia town. I think it's about time a Filipino place opened up here.As we walked in, one could easily appreciate the decor of the place. The ambiance and Filipino inspired decor was super nice, they even played some smooth jazz in the background. They start you off with kropek (Filipino shrimp chimps) as you look through the menu. Their menu is meant to be enjoyed family style and has a lot of Filipino classics. There were only two of us, so we decided to just order 3 dishes. We shared the chicken bbq skewers, ginataang gulay (veggies in coconut milk) and adobong pusit (adobo style squid) with garlic rice and steamed white rice. Everything we ordered was good and the portions were definitely for sharing. Our favorites were the pusit and the ginataang gulay. The pusit was seasoned perfectly, and the vegetables had perfect texture and consistency. The chicken bbq was not bad, but definitely had better elsewhere in the city. We felt that the overall flavor of the food was pretty spot on. Garlic rice was also just ok, but I think what we ate was better eaten with regular rice anyway. Service was fast and friendly. Prices were a bit on the higher side, but pretty comparable to Gerry's Grill or Max's. I am always happy to support Filipino owned businesses. Overall, this place is a good option if you want some Filipino food in the Katy area.

Long wait time? Food was not great? What are y'all talking about? My family of 6 had dinner on Mother's Day at Patis & Toyo and we experienced nothing but a truly Pinoy hospitality experience that only rivals that of actually being in the Philippines. We were seated within minutes of arriving and were tended to quickly. Yes, the restaurant was busy but despite that, they had a good flow of servers. The food was great and tasted Pinoy na Pinoy (Truly Filipino for my non-Taglaog). I definitely would eat there again.

Food was absolutely delicious!!! I have never had Filipino food before and I have to say, it was better than I could have asked for. Granted even their veggie options had pork in (I don't eat pork) their fish / seafood options were great! The waiter was so sweet. We will be coming back

Patis and Toyo was an excellent surprise. This was my first time here, and I will definitely be coming back. Everything I had was delicious, fresh, and packed full of flavor. The mini soft shell crabs, grilled squid, bicol express, and lechon kawali were sooooo good! I was taken care of by Marielle, and she was phenomenal and steered us in the right direction when it came to ordering. Also, order the Sizzling Cassava Cake for dessert!!!! The crispy bottom from the skillet and the chewy interior. Mindblowing!

I love the decor of this elevated Filipino restaurant. My review is based solely on a Sunday breakfast experience. My family of 4 reserved a table on OpenTable, which was totally unnecessary since the restaurant was pretty much empty. I especially love that they kept the Filipino names of the dishes on the menu. I find too many of them "Americanize" the dish names, which is a pet peeve of mine. The food was good, but I think it would have been a little better if ithe dishes were served really hot. My egg yolk was no longer over-easy, and I wanted it to spill out over my garlic fried rice, but nope. It was already solid, which was a bummer.I ordered the Bangsilog and was really hoping it would come with a sawsawan (filipino dipping sauce based with soy sauce, and vinegar and other ingredients), but it didn't have one... That was another disappointment.Overall, I also only gave 3 stars because the service was pretty mediocre. It wasn't BAD but it wasn't great either. I have actually gotten more attentive, friendly service at my local Chili's. There was no "is this your first time here?" "My name is xyz" There was no suggestion of dishes... It was just very cut and dry. *Shrug* I really wanted to loved this place, but I thought it was just okay.I will be back for dinner one day, and perhaps I will have a better experience. I am however, grateful for a restaurant in Katy that embraces Filipino cuisine and brings it to the burbs!

Filipino food always revolves around the quality of the rice. Patis and Toyo serves small portions of rice and is really expensive. The meat itself is just ok. I found their sinigang to be pretty bland and fish to be too lightly seasoned. Service was fine, but nothing too special. All in all, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. There's a lot of better places to eat in Katy Asian Town than here.

Amazing Ambiance, service was good too. I love the fish crackers they give at the start with the vinegar sauce. We only tried the bulalo and halo halo. The bulalo was good, lots of meat and bone marrow. The halo halo could be better but that's just me because I want simpler ingredients in mine and they have everything on it. It'd definitely come back to try their other items.

Mike and Marit are fabulous hosts as you are transported to upscale restaurants of the Philippines!! This is where you bring the family for a meal that'll be a memorable joyous evening. One note to set the expectations, this is not a dine and drive but a relaxing experience, so don't set a watch on with a timer on it, as the food will arrive when it's at the peak of perfection. You're dining on island time, lol. The delicious drinks infused with flavors of the Philippines like calamansi and taro to fresh juices and smoothies there is an upscale drink for all ages. Move on to appetizers like the Chicken BBQ Skewers are moist flavorful and definitely start you on a culinary journey without the airfare. The Garlic fried rice was tasty and devoured by our kids. The mains were amazing beef dishes Kare-Kare and Bistek Tagalog. The Kate-Kare is peanut buttery yumminess with soft tender meat. The bistro has a glorious sauce with tender potatoes and onions. Deliciousness!!Must try if you're in Katy!
