"Went there with my husband last night and ordered the taco Tuesday deal, umami fries, soy garlic wings, and the pork rice bowl. It took about 25min to get our food after ordering from the kiosk but once we got our food and sat down to eat at a table right next to their stall, the tacos and the fries were cold! I notified one of the employees there and first asked if he could reheat the tacos and he said that it's going to be the same? I was confused and just asked to be refunded for the cold food and went to super duper burger instead."
"Went here on a Saturday night.Put our name on the list. 3 parties a head of us. Was not too long of a wait. Over heard the server say that she was by herself. So we made sure to be extra nice. She was fast and thorough and even knew what table got what and made sure we were doing good. Their rolls are HUGE! They do not skimp on the fish. Everything was fresh!"

"Great example of Japanese cuisine. Japanese food is so much more than sushi and rice bowls and Sugata captures that spirit. Normally, I would give a place like this 4 stars. It's a solid 4-star place. But I can't believe Yelp has it at only 3.5! That must be rectified. It's a travesty when I see other places with 4 or more stars that aren't half as good. This is a good restaurant and if you're craving Japanese cuisine, you need to try this place.FOOD: Loved our order. We got a wide variety of items thanks to the generosity of friends and a love of Door Dash. I got the bento box dinner which comes with miso soup and salad and rice (which Door Dash doesn't show). I had the salmon teriyaki and tempura combo and it was delicious! The portion size was very generous. Literally it was about twice as much salmon as I normally get and the tempura included shrimp! Excellent flavor too. Not swimming in teriyaki but more than enough to make it flavorful. My daughter got one of the sushi rolls and really enjoyed it which is saying something. She is very particular by her own admission about sushi. We both agreed we would return here soon.SERVICE: Everything was delivered hot and packaged neatly and attractively. Like I said, generous portions only added to our enjoyment. Everything we needed was put together quickly, too.COST: Great food to cost ratio! Definitely felt we got our money's worth and then some. Again, will definitely come back!"
"We love coming here - it's one of our regulars in the neighborhood and we eat here a lot once a week. The sushi is excellent and traditional, with many fresh specials, and the staff are very lovely."
"We moved out of state and have tried several sushi restaurants elsewhere but have never found a place that compares to Sozo's. The rolls are fantastic and so varied and there are so many other entries and other options as well. Sozo's chefs, and the wait staff are outstanding. We never miss a chance to eat here whenever we return to Pleasanton. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who enjoys top quality dining."
"Food (4/5)Food was delicious! I would have liked a little more seasoning for my claypot rice however. It was a nice, comforting hearty meal. I've been here before and enjoyed the hamachi carpaccio too :)Price (4/5)On the pricier side. My gindara meshi/black cod small claypot rice was $37, my friend's tori soboro meshi/braised ground chicken small claypot rice was $26, and my other friend's tempura udon was $16 (this was the most fairly priced). Keep in mind that the dashi soup is an additional $2.5. We also ordered curry korokke ($10.5), which my friends enjoyed.Wait Time (4/5)Made a reservation several days in advance via Yelp for our party of three which was easy. We arrived on time and were seated promptly. We were told on arrival that our reservation was limited to 1.5hrs.One of my friends did have to wait a while for her udon while my and my other friend's meals were already arrived, so that was odd (I assume udon is usually quicker, but she did order the tempura udon?).Ambiance (5/5)Cozy interior, about 10+ tables for parties of 2-4, and three larger tables for parties of 4+ with tatami seating. It was pretty warm inside.Service (4/5)Everyone was pleasant and nice but it did take us a while to flag someone down when we were trying to ask about my friend's late dish. It also did take a while for us to get the check. No other concerns.Parking/Access (5/5)Located in a strip mall, there's plenty of parking available with no time limits. Most of the other businesses are closed for dinner time at least (the pool shop, key shop, FedEx). Probably wouldn't come back again since this was my second visit and there are other more affordable restaurants in the area with more exciting choices in my opinion. But definitely worth a try!"
"Not sure if Jung don Katsu is part of Taru Sushi or has taken over the restaurant. The sushi menu and sushi bar is still intact. The interior has not changed neither has the signage. The new Katsu menu is a great add. We ordered two combo meals of Katsu one pork loin and one fish both of which are excellent freshly made. The tray comes with rice, shredded cabbage salad (traditional) potato salad and a small bowl of soba noodles. The Alaskan cod and pork Katsu were done just right 5 stars. We had the grilled garlic edemame appetizer which was just meh $9. Definitely not grilled. Stir Fried and kinda greasy. The food takes a long time to come out. Luckily we were the first one to order. Parking is hard with only street parking available. Service was ok."
"Service continues to be slow and I so want it not to be. Food came out temperature appropriate but not everyone for their Food Together which is something I do not tolerate. We came to eat together not have to wait ten minutes between three of us. Everyone is very nice. Food is flavorful, a bit on the expensive side but I live in CV and there is not a lot of talent as far restaurants go so it is what it is. Been coming here since it opened back in the day. Miss seeing the owner Stanley there. Give it a go, food is good and rolls are awesome. Service needs help hope things change around In that arena."
"We went for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon and the restaurant was pretty busy. We hadn't been there in YEARS, so we were excited to go back and check it out. The service was great. The server was very attentive and promptly took our order. The food came out quickly, and it just continued to come out as it was prepared. It's a small place, and I can imagine it gets cozy during lunch/dinner service, but that doesn't matter when you have great service and food. We'll be back!"
"I have only tried their California roll here. It is pretty decent. My food was ready in a few minutes each time I ordered here. They are a regular at Fremont Street Eats Friday evening/nights. (Bonus: I love their name, Yoshi is my favorite)"
"Food - 5/5Service - 6/5Ordered pickup and it was such a nice experience. As soon as our order was ready, the restaurant called to notify us.We ordered 2 nigiri deluxes and the owner, Wendy, was so sweet and added in a complimentary appetizer and beer! I had a brief conversation with her when I picked up the food and you can see she genuinely cares about the experience customers have at her restaurant. The nigiri was fresh and delicious! Also the egg rolls Wendy packed for us were truly the best we've ever tasted. I'd definitely recommend and come back."
"I went to Kaigan Sushi as I was in the mood for a Dragon Roll and it was close by.It's a cute little restaurant, the staff and chefs were very nice. The Dragon Roll was flavorful. What I noticed however was that the avocado was over ripe, it was brown. That was my only issue. I wasn't very hungry, so I didn't order anything else. Overall, the service was good and I would consider going back to get a full experience."

Flavorful food for a decent portion size and price. After walking a lap around the public market, I settled for Koja. I got the short rib rice bowl and was surprised by the portion size. The meat was flavorful and tender. The salad was drenched in dressing and honestly got a bit too salty at the end. I would ask for dressing on the side next time. Rice was a little mushy, but overall, a decent meal for $13. Limited staff interaction. Ordering is via snackpass tablet. Food is placed on the counter and you receive a text when it is ready. It took me a few minutes to flag someone down for a cup of water even though they had no orders at the time.

Great spot for decent sushi at what I consider great prices as well. Not too sure if it's just because Fremont is less expensive when comparing to SJ/PA/MV area.Price/Sizing 4.5/5 - Rolls are decently priced at around ~14-20 but the plus mainly comes from them being pretty huge rolls with decent quantity. A lot of places tend to either downsize the rolls or the amount you get, but that was not an issue here. Bentos as well are nicely sized for what I consider fair prices.Service 5/5 - On point, Waitress was mostly at the front where she can see most of the tables and was able to monitor if any tables needed anything. Did not have any issues getting any water refills/help as needed.Flavor wise 4.5/5 - Didn't have any complaints in terms of freshness or taste profiles. Maybe did not entirely enjoy a roll we picked out but that's more of a problem with me than them. Chicken Teriyaki bento was juicy throughout, which I think can be a problem at some places when they overcook it and it becomes dry, but tempura was probably the only issue I had, as it seemed kind of so-so/average.Otherwise, location is great, plenty of parking and not to far off from dessert options.

Really quaint, small hole in the wall gem in Albany! Come as soon as you can because it can easily get packed. Fresh items on the menu and on display as soon as you walk in. My friends enjoyed their sushi rolls and seafood. I had a huge bento box with all the pretty decorations as well. Delicious teriyaki, fluffy soft rice and great portion sizes! Highly recommend this spot!

This is a nice little sushi bar! The service was very nice, attentive, and helpful. The food itself was all at a high standard. The breading on the karaage and the tempura were both light yet crispy. I would have like to see a little more variety in the vegetable tempura, though. The fish was the star of the show. The toro (fatty tuna) nigiri literally melted in my mouth and was such an amazing piece to eat. The chirashi included shrimp, octopus, scallops, eel, and several types of fish. They were all good, except one of the fish was cut at a weird angle, which created an unenjoyable chewing experience. Overall, great sushi place for a casual/slightly elevated dinner. Tip: The screen above the sushi bar has the prices listed for market price items. I didn't realize before ordering the most expensive nigiri on the menu!

The food here is amazing. I got the emperor maki and the California tray for a party and everyone loved it. The service was fast, polite, and courteous. I ordered as a pick-up so I didn't stay long but the ambiance seemed nice and chill. If you're in Pleasanton and need some sushi for a party or gathering I highly recommend getting it from this place.

Wow. They are severely understaffed here and this really downgraded our first time experience here. Our group was 5 adults and 1 toddler. My 3 other friends arrived early on a Saturday around noon and they were promptly seated but unfortunately, it took them 30 minutes until someone stopped by to take their orders. When I arrived, everyone was a little disappointed to the lack of attention. There was only one server for the entire restaurant at this time.Luckily the food didn't take as long to come out after I joined them. We ordered the Mentaiko pizza, shishito peppers, uni hotate meshi and Unagi Meshi. We all thoroughly enjoyed the Mentaiko pizza and the shishito peppers. They were very flavorful and well balanced. Unfortunately, both the unagi and Uni hotate meshis were both underseasoned. We eventually used the salt from our shishito peppers dish to try to season up both dishes and it was improved afterwards. What didn't improve was the lack of service, we tried to wave down the server a few times when all our water cups were empty but it took awhile. The food was a little disappointing and the service definitely needs improvement. Because of those reasons, it'll likely be awhile before I return.

Small mom and pop type Japanese restaurant specializing in katsu (and sushi) that's tucked away in Downtown Danville. I grew up in this area and party of me was just excited and happy to see places like this even exist in this part of town (maybe there's more Asian folks and eateries in the area now, but when I was in the area as a kid, these spots felt really rare). The service was great and folks here are very friendly. It's reminiscent of places I love to eat at in the relatively highly Japanese populated areas of Gardena/ Torrance in southern California. Came here with some family to get some dinner. The place isn't large, but a large group was leaving as we came in, so we were able to get seated pretty quickly. It was really cold that night so I ordered the hot soba noodles for myself. We also ordered some bottles of sake to be split among the adults of the table. I really enjoyed the soba. The texture of the noodles felt perfect and all the components and broth were tasty. I got a small bite of the tonkatsu from my nephew and that was really delicious and crispy as well. The food, the hospitality, the location, the people, and the space itself...just so much to like and love about this place.

"Ordered in today and got a sushi rollTo be specific, I ordered the Super California RollThe sushi was tasty but probably could have been fresher had it not been delivery"
"Geta is perfect for groups of 2-4. The most genuine Japanese restaurant in the bay. Japanese music in the background. Food is fresh and service is fast. It is not a place to lounge around and be loud. Always 10/10 at geta!"
"I heard Fish Day recently renovated and rebranded to K Kitchen and Fish Day. Previous version was very yummy so thought it would be worth a try. I visited on a Saturday during lunch time. STARS (stand out qualities)-customer service was one of the biggest stars. the owner-couple were so warm, responsive and helpful-local business owned by people of color -food was good quality AND quantity-food came out freshly made and hot -food presentation was nice -owners gave extra for certain banchan since we ate it quickly-reusable eatingware -beautiful interior dining area with booths and tables/chairs-clean bathroom -plenty of parking STAIRS (areas of growth)-recommend compostable or biodegradable large takeout boxes (they did have small compostable ones) -prices feel high to me but I think they are competitive Bay Area prices. Worth the price for all the stars above TIPS-prepare for cash payment if you want discounted prices-I recommend the Chive Seafood Jeon and Ddeokbokki and which was very flavorful and packed with good ingredients -bring friends, family and coworkers! Seems to be a hidden gem at the moment"
"The braised pork bowl was fantastic! Good generous portion & fresh yummy ingredient. The pork was cooked perfectly and it was melting in your mouth. The sauce was also really flavorful. The rice & salad balanced each other out. Food came out pretty fast & staff were nice. It's located it the mall, so pretty casual ambience with lots of scattered seating."
"As good as Amakara which is our quality bar. Sushi Hanabi has a small dining area, probably a total of 15 to 20 tables. We got there by 5:20 and when we left, every table was occupied. Mom and pop family vibe. We had the chirashi bowl, crazy monkey roll, and a beer. The chirashi bowl had over 15 pcs of delicious fresh good size sashimi pieces. The crazy monkey roll was really great, avoid shrimp tempura and get raw fish in your roll, topped with unagi? Yum! They weren't skimpy on the tobiko either! If I need to impress someone, I'd take them to Amakara. If I don't care and want a homey vibe, go to Sushi Hanabi"
"We found Yo Sushi on a whim when searching for food allergy safe sushi. We are so glad we found Yo Sushi and their amazing staff and service. We have come to them for quick lunches and long lunches and they have been great at accommodating gluten-free and shellfish allergies and even with catering they make sure our staff all have options. It's a simple, quick service restaurant that offers great eats at affordable prices. Their catering is done fantastically and they accommodate special allergy needs and are simply amazing. Can't rave enough."
"I wish I found out about this place sooner because I don't know if there is any other place in Berkeley that serves good quality sushi for such an affordable cost. Tip: If you have a larger group make sure to call ahead because they do get very busy! They have happy hour every day which is unheard of. There are options for handrolls, regular rolls, and even their sushi tacos, all reasonably priced. Honestly you can probably be full off a few of the happy hour rolls. I do highly recommend the sushi tacos. I got the spider sushi taco and it was an entire soft shell crab in a seaweed shell and some other toppings (so good!) Daruma also has okonomiyaki, which I frequently crave and find it hard to find a place in the bay area. Recommend the seafood one. Good texture and plenty of seafood in it. It is probably enough food for one person or two if you want to get some rolls with it.Overall, highly satisfied with my initial experience here and will definitely be coming back to try more things from their extensive menu."
"Excellent options for veggie lovers for sushi/rolls. Great staff and the quality and taste of the food here is amazing."
"My SO loves Fugetsu and suggests it ad a choice frequently. I realized that everytime I have come by, most of their food had been sold.Today was the first time I saw all the food was stocked up and I had so many options. Their food is a good deal for most of them and I was perusing until I selected the Saba Shio Bento. The fish, croquette and karage are pretty delicious and the price is decent. They also have an extensive amount of gifts and cute items to get ~"
"This is my daughter's god father's fave joint to eat in SJ so whenever we link up, Gombei is usually his requested meal. I attempted to come here for dinner a few times and ended up leaving due to the long wait times. Standing in the cold with a young toddler was just not feasible. Come here fully prepared to be patient due to the large crowds, especially during dinner time. The establishment itself is on the small side so getting seated takes time. Food is great, hence the large following that religiously comes back for more. I've had the beef & chicken teriyaki, deep fried shrimp, as well as the shrimp udon noodle soup. Flavors are always on point- never bland, flavorfully balanced, and extremely tasty. 4 stars. I eagerly look forward to coming back so I can try the beef dofu."
"Waitresses are super nice and serve well. Typically go here for the soup only. Beef sukiyaki is good but the beef is a little rough. Other than that good nearby spot"
"Wonderful service, ambiance and food! We were greeted so warmly by the hostess/server and immediately seated. We asked for suggestions on what to order and she let us know when she thought the food would be sufficient (my pet peeve is when they try to oversell you, so it's always extra points when they tell you not to order any more!) Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Plus the space is beautifully decorated and has an upscale but not pretension feel to it. I will definitely be back!"
"It's my first time trying this place and we ordered for takeout. This is what we ordered:Philly Roll(4/5): This is my go to roll for every sushi place and every time, I'm not disappointed. The salmon is buttery and the cheese is really creamy. I really like the texture that the roll gives. I kind of wished it was cucumber instead of avocado because it was a little too fatty for me.Spicy Tuna(3/5): The spice was tolerable and the taste was good, but I wished there was more cucumber. I probably would've given it a better scoring.Potato Croquette(3/5): I liked the crunch that it gave, but I felt like it lacked in flavor. The sauce that it came with had a vinegar taste and it really brought out the flavor that was hidden inside the croquette.Salmon Delight(5/5): Words can't describe how good this roll was. It was doused with spicy mayo and had huge amounts of salmon inside and outside the roll! Definitely my favorite out of the 4 items!Overall, a really good sushi place to go to and a place I would definitely come again!"
"Tasty snacks - check! The flavors are popping. Serving sizes are exactly what we should be eating. And living the variety offered. Wasn't expecting quite as much as there was so it was hard to choose, but I went with some spam musubi, a braised, pork taco and a braised pork bowl. Light bite dinner and lunch tomorrow.Huge fan of the spam comes with making an avocado, which was a nice surprise. I didn't read the details of the menu so it felt extra fancy. Braised pork taco was a little oily and I wish there was just a smidge more spice to it had some bites with flavor and some kind of lacking and the pork bowl was a nice size and comes with wider brown rice and the kimchi mixture. I put a couple dabs of hot sauce on it and took a few bites and for me that made it. It was good by itself too. I just needed a kick of spice tonight.Definitely looking forward to checking them out again and exploring more of the menu options ."
"Suruki's is always a must stop for me when I am in the Vallejo area. This is definitely a rating that is impacted by the consistency and reliability of their food. Because I have gone here a lot it is also a reminder of home and warmth.I have gotten the sushi a few times, and some other bowls, but the star of this review is the beef don.Beef Don: 10/10This bowl is such an amazing combination. It's hot and just fills you with a warm and happy feeling - especially on the winter. The egg and beef are so flavorful together with all the juices of the onions. The juice of everything together drips down onto the rice making it moist and adding extra flavor. The chicken don does not have the same rating because the chicken soaks up a lot of the juices and can be dry. Here, the is flavor everywhere, and I love it! A must try for sure! Before you know it you'll be craving it too!Unagi Don: 9/10The unagi Don is extremely good as well. The sauces that is on the unagi is amazing and makes the rice less plain.Spam masubi: 9/10I love spam masubi and will always get one here. It tastes like any other spam masubi and they make it fresh! I will caveat that sometimes the seaweed can be a bit soggy from the heat of the spam and rice.I've gotten the sushi here too and it's pretty decent. You can now do takeout by ordering on the phone, or by walking in and ordering at the register. They also have a few tables for dining inside. Everything is always done to order, so sometimes it takes some time.Overall, Suruki's will always have a special place in my heart. The staff are so nice, and it's a local restaurant that deserves a lot of credit!"
"High quality sushi, very cool hip vibes in uptown. Ignore the transplant nerds who say the area is unsafe- maybe Iowa is more their vibe. The rolls are very good but a little small, and they only have 3 vegetarian options. The drinks are very good and they have a wide japanese whiskey selection too. Service was good but there were only 2 servers it seemed. The rolls are great for 2-3 bites, but you're always wanting a little more. This is the perfect place to go before a show at the Fox or doing some partying afterwards- it'll fill you up but isn't a gut-buster like many places can be. There are so many rolls on the menu it's hard to tell, but the dungeness crab one was out of this world and worth a trip on its own."
"F O O D:nothing too spectacular but not bad either. just mid tier. good enough to satisfy a sushi craving but won't blow your socks off. tempura is fried in katsu batter which was interesting but i prefer the original way. S E R V I C E:extremely fast and nice service. very attentive and refilled waters constantlyA M B I A N C E:nice and cozy inside"
"Food is always great and service too! I cant wait to try their other menu. It's a must to try this place! Minimal parking but you can have another option to park when you are done with your grocery shopping you might go ahead and get your quick lunch or dinner in this location."
"Want to give a quick re-review because our family continues to really enjoy this place. As a matter of fact, of the three sushi/Japanese places in the immediate area, Miyuki is light years beyond the other two. My sister and I went tonight but couldn't believe -- it was absolutely packed! Have never come here before with it being so busy. With that, service was a tad slower than usual and our waitress had a very bad cough and, even though she was wearing a mask, the strength of her cough made me very uncomfortable and we thought, ok, this is probably the wrong night to come here, so we left. (Note to Owner: if someone is that sick, they shouldn't be working, mask or not.). So we went down Aborn to Yuri (Lucky Shopping Center) -- but, besides there being practically zero customers, which is not a good sign during prime dinnertime, eating there reminded me of why I don't like it ... at least with their cooked food (vs. sushi) there is no soul or love put into it like at Miyuki. (And note: the 3rd sushi place, Truya, is just plain awful, look up my review.)But everything at Miyuki is wonderful. Massive menu. Great atmosphere. A staff of young servers who are very diligent in their service (always helpful with my senior parents). Of the three places, Miyuki, by far, has the best teriyaki sauce, the best miso soup, a great side salad with delicious dressing, and everything is always served nice and hot (unlike at Yuri, where the edamame was half hot / half cold, the miso soup was lukewarm, the salad dressing pretty tasteless and with the chicken breast teriyaki (extra $3) the chicken was very tough). Unfortunately, can't talk too much about the sushi at Miyuki as we're not sushi eaters, but we do get "pseudo-sushi" (California Roll) and it's always fresh and delicious. The situation at Miyuki tonight was absolutely not the norm and will not dissuade us from coming back or giving it less than 5 stars -- folks, it's not only the best in the area, it's always excellent!"
"We've eaten here multiple times in the past few months and it's been excellent-- Very fresh, wonderful service and adorable decor. I especially love the tea cups. The portions are very generous and the prices are fantastic. Zeng Sushi Delight has become one of our favorite restaurants in San Leandro. Can't wait to go again soon."
"Ordered through GrubHub for takeout, and was seriously impressed! The New York strip was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, and the scallops were also done well--not overcooked, just the right texture. The garlic rice was amazing--packed with flavor, with a nice peppery kick that I loved. The vegetables paired really well with everything, making the meal feel balanced and satisfying. Plus, the portion sizes were huge, which made it well worth the price! Another plus? The food traveled well, sometimes takeout can lose its quality, but everything held up great. Overall, definitely be ordering again! Would highly recommend if you're looking for quality food with big portions and great flavor."
"I'm a bento box girl and the bento boxes here are GENEROUS.I used DoorDash to order for pick up on a Sunday evening. Quick and easy process: ordered on my phone and it was ready in the 15-20 min it took for me to drive here.I went with the chicken teriyaki + tempura + gyoza for $15. Maybe it looked extra generous because it was takeout and therefore given in 3 separate boxes. Still, it felt like a lot of food. Lots of chicken, big scoop of rice, and a salad in one box. 6 pcs tempura (4 veggie, 2 shrimp) in the next. And 3 pcs gyoza in the last box. Flavor wise, it was prob as good as any other sushi spot. I've had better crispier tempura at other places. The gyoza filling was tasty, though I'll say the sauce it came with didn't add much. Overall, though, still a good meal."
"Came for the $16.99 lunch special (M-F, some broths are an up-charge) and honestly fairly happy. + Vegetable plate is slightly customizable. They let you substitute veggies for the others. No more wasting or needing to hand off unliked veggies to others in your group like mushrooms. + Meat marbling looks pretty nice for the price+ Service is great. Kenny, who I believe was our host/server was pretty on top of ensuring everything was going smoothly. Water check ups and lowering our heat (since its not customer controlled) without needing us to flag him down. + Menu/inclusions, most shabu places I know, either give you rice or ramen, so its nice to get both here- Not really a fan of limited broth choices, only 2 options are free and the other two have an up-charge. If they pick up Shabuway's curry tonkotsu I think I'd have no downsides. Nonetheless, very limited downsides but overall a great lunch option with their special. Service is great as the seating arrangement guarantees you can be seen when you need help."
