"Stopped by on a college visit trip to Vandy with the youngest and the wifey. It was the "number one" Yelp suggested restaurant in Nashville, so I had to see what was up with that. Cool ass place! I see what it's ranked so high, it's very " New Nashville" if you will.... Lot's of "New Nashville" stereotypes and stereotypical places around. Arrived to find a small wait around 11:00 or so. Posted up on the wait list and we were accurately quoted 30 mins. Inside was pretty warm but they warned us at the door. It was misleading up front as it seemed cool, it got way worse as you got further in, but they did warn of the heat so I can't blame them. Open kitchen is cool, till it ain't, LOL. Kid had pancakes and bacon. Asked for extra syrup, got maybe one ounce extra for a dollar, WTF, that's strange. Bad thing, it still wasn't enough. Better bring one of those little bottles Cracker Barrel gives you here, yo. They were just ok pancakes. Wifey had the square bene. Cute presentation, looked really tasty . I didn't try it though. Well executed sight wise. She also ordered Tomato Gravy and two biscuits. She hated it and only ate one bite. It is unlike any tomato gravy I have ever had myself either. Biscuits were tiny, more like "bisc".... You know, abbreviated versions of biscuits. Come to Memphis, go to Sunrise or Kinfolk for a whole ass biscuit. I had the cold brew and corned beef hash skillet. Cold brew was standard, did its job though. CBH skillet was meh. Kinda dry all around. The beef was cut way too big for as tough as it was. Hash itself was pretty tasty though. Egg was cooked sunny too done, then sat under the lamp and got fully cooked so no relief there. Great idea for a dish though. Kinda sad I landed on my choice actually. I saw some other really other cool looking foods landing around us. Not all that impressed with my visit really. Would not wait again. '24 - 58/100"
"This is a small corner cafe in Nashville with very busy turnaround, yet relaxed dining environment. We came here around brunch time and waited for half an hour in line to get seated. It was worth the wait!We tried their salmon eggs Benedict, parfait and Tuscan 2.0 (tomato, fried eggs and cheese). Everything was delicious. All the other brunch places I've tried previously only provided you very think salmon pieces, but this place offered a big chunk of the fish! The Tuscan 2.0 was tasty as well. My favorite here was the brewed coffee. It was a must try. Even I usually have trouble taking caffeine, I can't resist the coffee here. It just tasted so good."

"I liked this place and they have a lot of good options. The service and the waitress were awesome. The flavor of the food was good. The atmosphere was family friendly and the music was versatile. Didn't have to wait long to be seated or to get our food. Everything you order is Big and delicious."
"Solid Vietnamese spot serving up authentic pho, vermicelli dishes and rice plates. Lots of seating but very casual setting. Stopped by for lunch and got the shrimp roll with peanut sauce which was amazing and fresh. They were sold out of many options which was disappointing but ended up getting the rare steak pho. Broth had great flavor and everything tasted fresh! Service is slow/non existent. Its cash only and you pay at the counter when you are done. One of my favorite Vietnamese food spots I have found in Nashville."
"Of course breakfast in Nashville means biscuits and Biscuit Love is one of the best spots! We've previously dined at Biscuit Love in The Gulch, but this Franklin location is amazing! Built in an older home in downtown, the place is beautiful. Same as in the other spot, you get in line and place your order. You're assigned a table and the food is delivered to you. We started out with "bonuts". These are like the best munchkins you could dream of! Little donuts with mascarpone and blueberry jam were the star of the show. We ordered the breakfast egg dish which was served with bacon, cheese grits, and a biscuit. Everything was delicious but the biscuit with jam makes the dish. Easy street parking and friendly service made this a breakfast to remember!"
"very cool and hipster coffee shopSpacious and love the industrial feel They also have some interesting coffee selections; bourbon vanilla latte was very interestingCold brew was on the light spectrum but still had the roasted taste"
"My fav coffee shop in East Nashville to get some work done or meetup with friends. Only drawback is they close so early!"
"This place is super duper cute, lots of seating and good place to get work done. I got the Iced YA latte - this was delicious. I loved the sweet not overpowering taste of the milky drink.Staff are also super friendly! Definitely recommend!"
"This old auto shop got converted into this eclectic, hipster, dive bar and eatery. They transformed it for many bands to showcase their talent. The food here are made in the house. It's fascinating to see the graffiti art on the wall and all the unique, colorful artistry behind their interior decor hanging around. They do need updates i their furniture, but I believe this is what makes their place one of a kind.As far as the food I loaded up in with their "Phat special" menu.I enjoyed their pita and hummus appetizer and the salad I got was good. The food wasnt as memorable as the decor. But it is a great place for vegans to vegetarians. There bar and their night life must be a hit. In the area.."
"Quick and tasty stop for coffee and a breakfast sammie on our way to Radnor Lake on a Saturday morning! We managed to snag a parking spot on the street right in front of 8th & Roast, which is always a plus! There was no line when we got there - but you can tell that this is a popular spot on any day of the week. My husband and I sampled a few of their seasonal drinks - the Peppermint Bark latte, and the Pistachio latte. All of their food options sounded good (and smelled good) so we also ordered the "Old Fashioned" biscuit sandwich to-go. The coffee was delicious - I feel like there's a noticeable difference in taste from shops that roast their own beans. We also really liked the breakfast sandwich! The biscuit was thick and flaky, and the sausage, egg and cheese was warm and savory. We didn't stay indoors long - but this is absolutely the kind of coffee shop that I could see myself working remotely at for a few hours. This was a great start to the long weekend - we'll absolutely be back!"
"Cute coffee shop and nice staff, everything on the menu seems to be very modern like the avocado toast and the corn quinoa salad.I had the breakfast poutine and a honey oat latte, I really did like the latte, but the breakfast poutine was too filling I couldn't finish it, it was full of cheese and potato.I also tried one of the powdered sugar beignet that my friend ordered, and it tasted just like a beer as if it was a pastry. Very interesting since I have never had beignet before."
"Solid and unique breakfast/lunch shop (and an institution in Brentwood) serving up crepes, Portuguese muffin breakfast sandwiches, decent coffee, amongst other (primarily breakfast-y) items.Gets busy and crowded after 8:30 am on weekends and keep in mind, orders for a crepe, omelette, or waffle can take 10-15 minutes to make, so while they do takeout, you should plan your time accordingly.Having eaten crepes in Paris, I wouldn't compare the quality here to what's available there, but I certainly thought the consistency was decent for when I really have a craving for a crepe. The sweet crepes, omelette, and Belgian waffle (which comes decadent with toppings and powdered sugar) are the stars of the menu. Nice outdoor seating that is dog friendly and private parking lot makes this a solid breakfast/brunch find."

Wow. This place. The building itself was so cool on the outside we knew we were going to have an amazing breakfast. They had an amazing breakfast cocktail menu so I had to try the blueberry gimlet. Absolutely divine flavor!I ordered the jalapeño breakfast cakes and man oh man was the flavor amazing. We all ordered something different so we got to try all the delicious flavors. Food was amazing, service was great and the overall vibe of this place was amazing. I'm not sure if they take reservations, but I would recommend getting there early if you don't. We got there right when they opened and it filled up pretty quick with people waiting outside for a table. The food is well worth the wait for sure!

We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast at Sky Blue Cafe. It's a tiny spot, so wait times can be long. Fortunately, it was a beautiful morning so we took a stroll around the cute neighborhood while we waited on our table. Once we got seated, we loved looking at the charming decor and noticed all the employees working looked happy and were helping each other out. Love to see that! I ordered drip coffee and the Space Captain omelet. Both were delicious and I'd gladly come back to have the same exact meal. My husband loved what he ordered too, but I don't remember what it was because I was too wrapped up in my own meal. Check it out, it'll be worth your wait.

Came to Nashville for the weekend and came to this breakfast spot. It was a little busy on a Saturday morning but we were seated right away. I ordered the big bad breakfast with a side of wheat bread. Portion was a little smaller but overall still pretty good.

One of the most Authentic Vietnamese food on charlotte pike! Cash only but that's how you know it's legit. Lots of seating. I got bun Bo hue which is spicy beef bone lemongrass soup and I crave it all the time now. It's a little spicy but that soup gives flavor every single bite! I always finish my bowl and drink all the soup because it's that good. The noodles pair well with the soup and it comes with fresh beef slices and some cooked beef, pork sausage, and pork bone. For the semi raw beef, you can just mix it in the soup if you want it cooked more. It comes with bean sprouts, basil leaves, and lime as toppings for the soup, definitely add them. So good, I'm literally thinking about when's the next time I'm going back as I'm writing this. On the side, definitely get some of VN pho's chili oil to dip the meat if you like spicy. The green Thai iced tea is somewhat new to the menu and it is AMAZING, must get!! You really taste that tea flavor and it's not too sweet at all. Bonus, it comes with green tea jelly and overall is so refreshing.

If I could only use one word to describe this place, it would be "delicious." I'm not a biscuit fan, but the biscuit here is hands down the best biscuit I've ever had in my life. It was so good that I decided to order a half dozen frozen biscuit to go. I'm enjoying one as I write this from the comfort of my home in Iowa. Would I come back again? Most definitely! Not only do they have amazing biscuits, their other food options are also delicious. I got the brussels sprouts salad with egg and it was really good. I crushed it! I'm glad my husband and I stopped by this place because we both thoroughly enjoyed the food here.

Caliber Coffee is an awesome spot in Nashville, which I found via Yelp! If you're in the area, I would highly recommend checking it out. The food choices were immense and many people came in just for food. I 100% enjoyed the avocado toast with eggs. It was very filling, rested on homemade bread, and had tons of flavor. I tried a seasonal orange, cinnamon tea and it was also incredible. I usually order a chai tea, and this was just as good, if not better. It had a different flavor with the orange, but was still very spicy.

"I moved here three weeks ago and really nervous about checking out my new surroundings alone. This place makes me feel very comfortable and welcoming. They provided a prompt friendly service, clean, and great warm lighting that's easy for my eyes. I ordered a hot classic caffe latte and a breakfast burrito, both were perfect for after the gym visit. Love their menu selections and outdoor patio to enjoy music row area. I will definitely come back."
"Had a good time and a great meal at the NSS&S. Nice menu and decent, reasonable, prices too. The deviled eggs, each with a different topping, was eggsellent!!The maple bourbon salmon was moist and flavorful. The Smashburgers were true Smashburgers!! Juicy, crusty, and packed with flavor. Almost the best Smashburger I've had."
"I love this place! My favorite part is the drink names. So clever!!!!Whenever we our out this way, we try to make a stop here. I even have a sticker on my car! I get asked about it all the time"
"I'm so happy I finally got here! Only con: parking is not good right here. Pretty stuffed lot and deliveries blocking entrance/exit. I had to go past and turn around. Tight squeeze. Okay let's get to the good stuff. The cheesy potatoes samosa was fantastic. I could have it every day. The seasonal strawberry cold foam chai was super tasty & refreshing. I'll be back to try their classic chai. I also had the chicken and got my friend the Philly cheese steak. Great choices! Grabbed some tiramisu for a friend and they loved it. Service was quick and easy. No frills spot. I need the food truck to come to my building!"
"Delicious donuts and worth the drive to some of the best donuts I have ever eaten! Very fresh and delicious!"
"I've ordered in catering from here a few times now for work meetings. I cannot tell you how much my team raves about their food and wants it again and again!Haven't eaten in the restaurant itself so I can't speak to that, but the food is good. Taco bar with chicken and brisket is the current favorite, and the chipotle salsa disappears before I even put it out. Lots of different topping choices to add to the taco bar and their guacamole is one of the best I've had recently. I'll continue to order from them as long as my team continues asking for it... and I don't see that changing anytime soon!"
"Came here on a Sunday morning. The line was quite long and took about 10 mins. We were able to located a table for 3. I tried the Cuban latte (brown sugar and cinnamon) with almond milk, and it was very good. Very smooth. I also tried their holiday gingerbread crepe, which was excellent. The space is very tight, so the line becomes very uncomfortable, as there are people trying to maneuver about and squeeze through. Service was friendly."
"If you're ever in East Nashville, make it a point to stop by for these incredible donuts--they're totally worth it! I was in the area and couldn't resist popping in, and I'm so glad I did. These donuts are on another level! Most are priced around $4.75, which might seem steep, but trust me, the quality more than makes up for it. Whether you're into the cakey or the fluffy varieties, they've got you covered. We picked up the s'mores, banana puddin', Boston cream, and the cinnamon roll, and every single one was a flavor explosion. They also offer coffee and savory treats, which I can't wait to try on my next visit.Plus, there are a few parking spaces right in front, and the staff couldn't have been more enthusiastic and helpful. If you're nearby, don't miss out!"
"The restaurant employees were so nice! They opened up a little early and even Tim it was before they officially opened they still offered to take my order and get my settled in.The restaurant itself is pretty big. It definitely has a brewery type vibe with the open space, board games, etc. I checked out the menu before I came in and it is definitely one of the more unique brunch menus I've seen. I loved the twists that they put in on traditional biscuit sandwiches. The Squacking Goat was a great combination of flavors and the goat cheese tasted so good and fresh. The smashbrowns definitely stole the show for me though. I've never had hashbrowns this crunchy and seasoned before. The only thing I was disappointed by was the bluegrass grits. It just tasted like grits mixed with grass and I wasn't too big of a fan."
"Truly a unique find in the Nations or even greater Nashville area. This cozy coffee shop is a "blink and you'll miss it" kind of spot. Nestled next to an antique shop, this small but mighty coffee spot boasts some awesome flavors and friendly staff. I came here to work on my laptop and was very surprised at how narrow this place is. There's only about 4-spots to sit not including a tiny bench for guest or the outdoor patio in the back. The menu here simple, but focused. I order a cold brew and a cherry scone. The cold brew was awesome! A strong cup with low acidity and a just touch of bitterness at the end, just how I like it! This paired great the cherry scone. The scone was the winner of the afternoon. Huge cherries baked into a dense crumbly pastry. The sweet flavor was a nice break from the flavor punch of my cold brew. I live in Mount Juliet, but if I found myself in the neighborhood again I would definitely make a pit stop here."
"This coffee shop is inside the Thompson hotel. The line got really long on Sunday afternoon. But the workers were working as quick as possible. The line to order took over 10 minutes but my drink was made within 5 minutes. It's a really small coffee shop, but there are a few tables inside. It's best to just grab and go, honestly. I had a hibiscus iced tea and it was really refreshing. My cousin ordered basically a Vietnamese coffee and it woke her right up! Great place to grab a sip to start your day."
"I ordered a latte with almond milk and my friend ordered a chai latte and we both liked our drinks. The atmosphere was great and its was a very social feel. The only thing I didn't like was the price. I got a medium and it was around $6.50, then after I tipped it was over $7. To me that is more than I want to pay on a regular basis. A once in a while treat is fine but I cannot make this a regular place to visit with those prices.* Note, if part of their proceeds regularly go to charitable foundations or causes, then I suppose I could justify the extra surcharge and it would be a great place to bring friends or work colleagues since you need to have a meeting somewhere anyway. I am certainly going to go here over the green Mermaid corporate giant that serves crud for coffee, especially for group orders! I'd rather support local every day of the week!"
"Great local spot that also has a drive up window. I decided to try the cinnamon latte and it was delicious along with a veggie soufflé. Much better than any chain hands down. Would definitely stop if in the area."
"I'm on the hunt for my favorite Nashville coffee shop, and Sump is a strong contender. With lots of menu options for coffee connoisseurs, and a decent remote work set-up - what's not to like? You can park in the attached garage and just take the elevator up to the coffee shop. However, I prefer to park in the lot next to OneC1ty - it's a bit easier to get in and out of, and a bit cheaper if you're planning to stay for awhile. The vibes inside are cool - if you're into artsy skulls, this is the place for you. I've been here three times, and haven't strayed too far from my go-to cold brew with almond milk. The service has always been fast and friendly, and if you visit in the afternoon, you should have no issues snagging a table (although be warned that there aren't many outlets!)"
"We visited here during the Christmas Holiday. We decided to go off and away from the crowd in the noise of downtown Nashville into this nice quiet neighborhood not too far from it. After walking around, we stumbled upon this café. As expected of a café, it smells delicious in here. The vibe was chill with a few people working on their laptop, some folks quietly chatting amongst themselves, and good music playing in the background. The environment is very neat and clean with a minimalism style decor. The vintage music equipment was a nice touch. While we were here, I got the "strawberry fields" pour over coffee. The blend of beans and the style of brew that was applied really did make this taste like strawberries in coffee format. It was quite unique and a good pick-me-up. This hit the spot during the cold winter time we visited here."
"Ethio Coffee House is a super friendly, local Ethiopian cafe offering seriously good coffee, pastries, and Ethiopian breakfast too! We ordered the ground beef stir-fried with eggs and tomatoes, as well as the special ful, a dish of small fava beans cooked with eggs, ginger, and garlic, and topped with chopped jalapeños and red onions. Both of these dishes were served in a mini skillet, along with two warm, whole wheat oblong rolls, which had a soft, chewy, nutty interior and a crispy, crusty exterior. The service here was so warm, friendly, and welcoming, and the local vibe of this cafe made it a great stop for a tasty breakfast!"
"Love this coffee shop!! Retrograde Coffee truly captivated me with its inviting ambiance, outstanding coffee, and delectable breakfast sandwiches. This charming coffee shop left a lasting impression on me, and I'm excited to share my experience. The moment I walked into Retrograde Coffee, I was greeted by a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The vintage-inspired decor, combined with the warm lighting, created a comfortable and inviting space. It was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee.Speaking of coffee, Retrograde Coffee delivered an unforgettable experience. I had the pleasure of trying two of their signature coffees, and they both exceeded my expectations. The flavors were rich, robust, and perfectly balanced. It was evident that their baristas take great pride in their craft and ensure that every cup is a masterpiece. One aspect that truly impressed me was the latte art. The baristas at Retrograde Coffee are talented artists, and their creations added an extra touch of beauty to each cup. It was a joy to savor the flavors while admiring the intricate designs they skillfully crafted. However, the highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the breakfast sandwiches. These savory delights were an absolute treat. Served piping hot, with steam rising from the top, each bite was a burst of flavor. The combination of sausages and eggs was mouthwatering and left me craving for more. The sandwiches were the perfect complement to the exceptional coffee.Furthermore, Retrograde Coffee's large parking lot was a pleasant surprise. In downtown Nash, finding parking can often be a challenge, but their spacious lot provided convenience and ease. It's a small detail that enhances the overall experience and makes visiting the coffee shop a hassle-free affair. In conclusion, Retrograde Coffee offers a delightful haven for coffee enthusiasts and those seeking a cozy retreat. The warm and inviting ambiance, coupled with their exceptional coffee and impressive latte art, create an experience that is truly memorable. Don't miss out on their delectable breakfast sandwiches, as they are the perfect accompaniment to a satisfying cup of joe. With the added convenience of a spacious parking lot, Retrograde Coffee ticks all the boxes for a truly enjoyable visit. I will definitely be back soon!"
"Quiet and quaint cafe, great for catching up with friends or family. The atmosphere is cozy and welcomes you for extended periods of time. Things you should know:I. PARKINGThere's a private parking lot in front of the building and also behind ~ easy & FREE. II. SERVICE Accomodating III. QUALITY The Americano I ordered was very dense and concentrated ~ I was very happy it wasn't watered down. Definitely recommend the pecan shortbread cookie, we all shared one and couldn't get enough..! IV. CAPACITYAvailable seating for a Friday late-morning."
"Morning coffee in Lebanon, I arrived at 6:20 am and spent around four hours here this morning as my "office" for the day. Quiet, comfortable and yes, great coffee! While the cortado was served in a cup, it was still delicious and had the caffeine boost to start the day. I chose their OG Bomb for breakfast and this is an interesting thing. It's a "lump" of dough with stuff inside it. Delicious and filling, but greasy enough that you'll want to eat it with a fork.Wifi worked well and I was able to bring the phone and laptops up to 100% before heading on to the next stop for the day.[Review 20067 overall - 423 in Tennessee - 1043 of 2023.]"
"Nice eclectic decor and vibe. Solid coffee. Good service.Great for conversation and a quick bite to eat.I think I got a blue berry muffin and it was great!"
