Redwood Bar & Kitchen

4.5 rounded up to 5. The Chef and our waiter were so friendly. The food was all really good -- full of flavor and fresh. We were only one of two couples in the restaurant, so it was quiet but it is dark inside. Great drink menu -- cocktails and beer. They brought out bread and it was delicious -- warm and soft with a tasty oil dip. We ordered the pork belly plantain for an appetizer and it was excellent. The steak was a great cut and juicy, and the potatoes it came with were soft and great. We walked over from our hotel, but like most places in FL the street parking could get tricky during busy times.

Was excited to try this. We had to sit outside at wobbly table as the music inside at 6pm was terribly loud. There is not an automatic close so waiter or patrons has to close. We ordered a whole fish with black rice. We were given white rice and the fish was so dry. If there had been some kind of sauce in might have been palatable. I would rather flush $65 down the toilet.One star for the waiter who was polite. Just a reason downtown Hollywood places don't last. Residents have to drive elsewhere to get a decent meal!

In town for SOBE we found Redwood thru YELP. Redwood is a neat restaurant with a mix of traditional seating and home style from your house with even a breakout area with lounge chairs. The restaurant lighting is soft, and the bar area is attractive and intimate. We arrived at 6pm and met the chef/owner and were further in luck as tonight the restaurant offered live music - acoustic guitarMy wife and I shared the ceviche which was flavorful and refreshing with the proper amount of acid and came with homemade chips - delicious. For mains my wife had the linguine von gole , it was good but could have used more clams and the ones it was served with were slighlty overcooked. I ordered the flat bread marguerita with grill chicken as an additional throw on. The pizza size was perfect and the flavor was goodOverall a great environment to meet with friends and enjoy dinner next time I will try a chef special.

In hollywood for vacation. I pretty much exclusively use yelp to find places to eat. Reviews guided me here. Came at 6 on a Wednesday. Completely empty but went in anyway. Attractive inside. Off music for pricing though. VERY nice waiter. He was the best part of dinner. We had calamari. Decently fried but no flavor. Shrimp scampi. Fine. Ordered the special- crab stuffed flounder. Had the exact same sauce as the scampi. Stuffing was real crab but very fishy tasting and salty. Plain rice and some steamed vegetables for sides for both meals. Would not recommend

First time here , New Years Eve at 7There were only 4 of us Cute spot , liked the vibe Was able to park right in front of the restaurant, perfect timing Excellent waiter, on top of everything Started with drinks , I had the lavender lemonade and it was good and tasted so freshI shared the ribs appetizer and it was deliciousWe also tried the ceviche also good For my entree I had the veal chop with mashed potatoes and veggies , it was perfect I asked to meet the chef to let him know how much we appreciated his food and Thanked him for a great mealCan't wait to try something else next time I go

My boyfriend and I walked into this place and really wanted to try this place. We were the first to walk in this afternoon and had Heidi as a our server. She was sweet and told us this place was fairly new. We loved the ambiance and the music. We were kind of hungry so, decided to order like 3 appetizers.We ordered the burrata salad, mofogo, & the spare ribs. Let me tell you, everything just melted into your mouth. The burrata salad, full of flavor. Such a simple salad with so much flavor. Each bite had a burst of flavor with the fresh tomatoes, arugula, and olive oil. The Mofogo , basically was a plantain topped with pork belly and Kimchi pickled slaw. These flavors were epic. This is a must!!!! The plantain was cooked so perfectly ! Had a great crunch sound. The pork belly was so tender & the slaw brought all the flavors together. Each flavor complimented each other.The spare ribs were absolutely to die for. The first bite you take was an experience in itself. The meat was so tender that it fell off the bone so gently and melted straight into your mouth. The bbq tangy sauce was perfect for these spare ribs! You can tell these spare ribs were slowly cooked to perfection. I am happy with this place and will be coming back to try more ! It's a hidden gem! Very friendly personal! Excellent service! The food is amazing! And the whole atmosphere is so cozy and relaxing Will definitely be there again!!!

The food was absolutely delicious. The service right on target the ambiance Just what you need to destress have a nice conversation with your guests and at the same time, listen to Live music. I was so impressed with this little gem. In downtown Hollywood. It was a wonderful experience. I can't wait to go back.

Went here when they first opened and we're trying to figure out who/what they wanted to be. Asked about the happy hour, at that time they had to ask the chef who decided it was 30% off wine. So we stayed for a glass and got the jerk wings- for sure needed more of a char. Nothing special but a super awkward vibe. We assumed it was just because they were new. We finally decided to go back tonight for happy hour, after walking by pretty much every day (but never recognizing the every changing staff who stood outside begging for service). What a total let down. The sign outside and the menus say happy hour "daily" but when we sat down the bartender said she'd have to ask the chef and later replied, it's only "daily" during the week. There was no one in here at the time. Again the vibe was just off. We decided to take our local business elsewhere.

To be honest my family and I stumbled across this restaurant tonight it was nice inside, as far as the decor. The food was terrible dry.. tasted old we ordered the calamari appetizer two cheese burgers and a chicken salad and chicken kabob plate. Not worth it. I'm sorry but the owner/cook was very nice.
