I had high hopes for Pla-Tu, especially after seeing its accolades on Yelp, but my visit was a bit underwhelming. The menu is ambitious, blending Japanese and Thai flavors with a hint of fusion. We tried a variety of dishes, including the Golden Guard sushi roll, the Bad Boy sushi roll, vegetable rolls, gyoza, and Pad Thai. The sushi rolls were well-constructed, with fresh ingredients, but lacked that wow factor. The Pad Thai was decent but nothing extraordinary. The flavors were good, but nothing particularly memorable. The ambiance is cozy and intimate, with limited seating. It's a popular spot, so be prepared to wait, especially during peak hours. The service was friendly and attentive, with our server taking the time to explain the menu and offer recommendations. However, there were some downsides. The prices are a bit steep for the portion sizes, and the overall experience didn't live up to the hype. The food was good, but it didn't blow me away, and there are other sushi/Thai spots in Miami that offer better value for the price.Overall, Pla-Tu is a decent choice if you're looking for a fusion experience, but it's not a must-visit. The food is good, but not exceptional, and the prices are a bit high. I'd recommend trying it out for yourself and seeing if it meets your expectations.

We went here for a fun girls night. It's a small restaurant and super casual. We had the papaya salad which was delicious. My omakase sushi was a little boring. My friend enjoyed her curry. We wouldn't come back with all the options around

I don't normally gate keep locations like this but I'm going to have to with how great the food is!! I would hate for instagram or TikTok to mess it up! Normally most sashimi you find isn't sliced correctly. You get big pieces or uneven cuts but this spot has the most thinly sliced fish and it's of quality too! I ordered 2 hamachi jalapeños, the Korean fried chicken and the pad Thai. The Korean fried chicken I'm so happy came in 4 pieces. Normally you're overwhelmed with spices and sauces but this was dressed beautifully! With a lettuce garnish underneath. Now the pad Thai, it was so incredible. There was a side of sprouts and noodles hot enough for you to mix them together to soften them AND there was a side of chicharron! Uffff and the best part was I showed up 15 min before closing and they still let me sit down and have my first meal here. I can't wait to come back. Service was great, restaurant was great to be in, ambiance was soft and easy. I really can't wait to go back. Thanks again!

We had only been here once before for a quick bite but this time we stepped in, trying our luck with 30min to close (I know, shame on us) and the team here was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Our server was Kai, who gave wonderful recommendations and encouraged us to take our time even though we were inherently rushing ourselves in order to allow them to fully close shop. The hamachi jalapeño was loaded up to give you the perfect bite every time. The citrus and freshness of this dish paired well with the warmth and smokiness of the surf and turf roll. We also enjoyed a bottle of sake that was served table side on ice! Absolutely incredible and friendly service here, don't overlook this small unassuming spot the next time you're driving down Sunset!

Even in 95 degree heat, sitting outside on the sidewalk, this place rocks so hard !They put the fans up to help, but I would wait in line in h*ll for a little taste of this place. I've ranted on about the freshness of the ingredients and the consistency, but I really want to go on about the service. My man Fluke makes sure you are taken care of, always looking for an empty glass or a dropped fork. Poured the saki when we needed.Extra napkins, chilli peppers, ice, fish sauce...he's got you.Tell him I sent you. The spicy coupleSuch a small place, but they get six stars for service.Get there if ya can

I came here just to try the crispy pork belly, and although it was delicious, my favorite thing ended up being the bang bang shrimp! Soooo yummy! There was a lot of breading to it, but it was still very tasty - and sweet! The service was friendly, and they took care of us quickly. The ambiance was very tranquil, you could be seated inside or outdoors, but since it was a hot day, we ended up sitting inside. The parking was empty when we arrived around 7pm and it wasn't busy, even though it was a Sunday night. I would definitely go again.

This place had been on my list for a bit of time. I love thai and japanese food because it tends to be celiac-friendly and they have a very large menu - it was so hard to choose what to order! However we decided to order the pad thai and omakase. The omakase was so fresh! All the sashimi and sushi tasted really good.We decided to order the pad thai by recommendation from the waiter. It was pretty good and had their own twist by adding pork inside. This is the first sushi restaurant that I've been to that has demonstrated celiac inclusivity, offering tamari gluten free soy sauce

Driven by this place many times and never stopped by until this week. Glad I did. I was craving Thai food however my friend and I opted for tapas to share. The food overall was good. The donuts are always a nice finish. My favorite dish was the crudo with the citrusy juice and crispy onions. I would go back just for those two plates. Parking is inside the garage or on the street PayByPhone. Weekdays it's not busy so you'll have plenty of seating as well. Overall it's 3.5 stars place for me.
