I came here because of Miami Spice, but also because this restaurant was different from all the other ones I kept seeing.First, this is a restaurant where you come for the amazing service, quality food, and something different type of food. This is not your typical everyday restaurant and it is more on the high end side. The restaurant is inside a hotel and parking can be limited, but you can walk a little to the parking garage or pay the parking up close.Service: let me start with one of the best things about this restaurant. The waiter comes and gets you as soon as you come into the hotel/restaurant entrance. They will be on top of you if you want or need everything. There was a guy there that suggested us a great red wine selection and we of course got the bottle. We did not have to wait much at all for anything. They were constantly coming to check up on the food, if anymore wine was needed, or anything else..Food: the food was definitely high quality food. You come here not for the portions, but for the different options they offer. You come here for the top of the notch ingredients. The taste of the food was delicious, not overpowering, and all the ingredients went well together. My husband got the PAN SAUTEED FOIE GRAS for first course, SHORT RIBS MARINATED IN BURGUNDY WINE AND SLOWLY COOKED for second course, and of course the FLOATING ISLAND Poached Whipped White Egg, Crème Anglaise, Fresh Berries for desert. It was all perfectly cooked and delicious, the short ribs we soft and the flavor was just on point.I got WILD MUSHROOM RISOTTO for the first course, DUO OF BRANZINO AND SEA SCALLOPVegetable and lemongrass sauce .. Branzino Butter Dulce Flakes Sauce ..Scallop for the second course, and the same desert as my husband for the third course.I really just enjoyed it all, the flavors of the sauce along with the vegetables not being overcooked or under cooked. The chef in the back just played it all so well together. The ambient of this restaurant is small and cozy. This is a place for date night, or talking to an old friend you haven't seen. This place is small, so reservation is a must. It is a restuarant where you can actually hear the person in front of you without having to scream over other people or the music. It is a great place because once you are done eating you can walk Lincoln road or go walk the beach if you'd like.I would not kind coming back here again for another date night.Service was great, food was delicious, and I enjoyed the cozy quality restaurant it really is.

Had a romantic Valentine's Day dinner at Pied A Terre. They had a special Prix Fixe menu and we also enjoyed a beautiful bottle of French wine.QualityAs so many places do, Pied A Terre created a Prix Fixe menu for Valentine's Day. And while the food on it was delicious, I believe it did not quite capture the full potential of the restaurant. The meal began with a glass of Champagne, a nice touch to welcome each diner to a romantic evening. This was followed by an amuse bouche, a small scoop of Ceviche. Not what I expected of a French restaurant, but a tasty bite nonetheless. For our appetizers we ordered the Warm Duck & Fresh Wild Mushroom Consomme, Ravioles Of Foie Gras and the Lobster Daikon Purse. The consomme was excellent with the broth steeped in rich and deep flavor and the raviolis were delicate and delicious. The lobster was well prepared with a nice profile and fresh flavor. For entrees we had the Steamed Squab And Foie Gras Wrapped In Savoy Cabbage and Short Ribs Marinated In Burgundy Wine And Slowly Cooked. The squab and foie gras was the best bite of the night by far. The decadent foie gras served next to the tender and moist bird was amazing. The short ribs were excellent as well, and happened to be the only substantial dish of the evening. Extremely soft and with a tremendous aroma, they came atop soft mashed potatoes. Then for dessert we had the Floating Island Pied A Terre and the Chocolate Tart. Both showcased amazing presentation, but it was the richness of the Chocolate Tart served alongside the unique griotte cherry sorbet that won me over. And while the food was delicious, it was the wine that makes Pied A Terre special. Recognized by Wine Spectator since they first opened their doors, the extensive list of wines is unbelievably impressive. The wine consultant helped us select an excellent wine to pair with our meal, that left us both very satisfied. My only real complaint for the quality was the handcuffs that prevented further exploration of the menu, the foie gras tasting in particular.QuantityOn Valentine's Day the only option was to order from the prix fixe menu. However, I did not feel it was near enough food and without the ability to add on, I ended up leaving the restaurant still hungry. Considering the price tag, that should not have been the case. ValueThere is no question regarding the high quality of the food, but I still felt like the price for this prix fixe menu was excessive. The fact that it was Valentine's Day likely played a part, as did the glass of champagne that came with the meal. I just feel like I would have enjoyed my experience more without the restrictions of the menu. I must note however, that the wine list is extremely reasonable, with high quality wines at every price point.AmbiancePied A Terre is located in the Cadet Hotel, a boutique hotel on Miami Beach. The restaurant is found on the second floor of the hotel, but I believe they also have seating in the outdoor patio area. When you arrive you are greeted by a lovely pianist playing a mix of classics and familiar pop tunes. A waiter will then lead you up the stairs to the intimate dining room. With around twenty total seats, the small area allows for a personal touch. The decor is simple, yet elegant, and the music from the lobby carries up to the restaurant. The set up is a bit awkward as the tables are quite close together, but somehow you still feel a sense of privacy. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic evening.CrowdPied A Terre has garnered a reputation for being one of the most romantic restaurants in Miami. As such, it was no shock to find it booked up with couples on Valentine's Day. The restaurant itself is a very small space, so expect an intimate dining experience. This is also one of the few places I have been in Miami where dressing up is basically expected.ServiceAt some moments I felt like the service was extraordinary, with careful attention and detailed explanations of the food and wine. However, there were also extended periods where I felt that they forgot we were even at the restaurant. The highlight of the service was the wine consultant who was no nonsense and helped us select the perfect companion to our meal. He also proudly spoke of the foie gras tasting, which I would have loved to try, had it been made available.ParkingSurprisingly they do not have valet set up at the hotel or restaurant. Limited street parking can be found or if you do not mind a short walk, there is a large parking deck three blocks west.ExtraIn the end my bigger issue really is probably with the shortsighted tradition of prix fixe menus on Valentine's Day. The food and the wine at Pied A Terre both proved excellent, but the extra high prices and limited offerings left me disappointed and quite frankly hungry. I feel another visit is very much in order to truly get a sense of what Pied A Terre can do.

Was okay to me, my BF loved his food, mine was just so-so.I admit I am not fond of French food much, this place certainly didn't make me change my mind. I got the quinoa salad with avocado, the non-pan fried quinoa was okay, the pan fried had the gritty taste of dirt, was most unpleasant. I had something else to eat but it wasn't memorable enough for me to recall it. It certainly wasn't the worst place to eat in Miami, but it wasn't in my top 10 either. We ate out a lot during the week for every meal.

Pied a terre is located in the old cadet hotel on south beach and while there is charm in older boutique hotels, this particular restaurant and hotel is in desperate need of a remodel. It has an old farty feel that would attract the 60+ crowd. Definitely not the spot if you want to take in the charm of some of the other boutique hotels offer across the street. And don't get me wrong, a place could be a complete dump but if the food was amazing, I'd go back time after time. But this was not the case! While the service is great, the food was lacking on every level. I had to send back my beef entree and didn't see a way of them fixing the dish. It was just bad. It was cooked medium rare which is exactly what I asked for but somehow was still very chewy, flavorless and dry. I couldn't swallow a second bite. I was afraid to try anything else but I had to change it for the lobster dish which was better but still had serious flaws with the execution of the dish. The carrots were overcooked and powdery. The mango and pineapple tasted canned and didn't go well with the dish. The sauce also didn't mesh well. The lobster was at least edible because it wasn't over or undercooked. The snow peas had the ends clipped but didn't have the strings removed from the rest of the pod. The appetizer was better as we had the scallop and the "risotto". Honestly, the bread was probably the best part of the meal. We were hoping the dessert would be decent but it was just egg whites fluffed and torched with vanilla mixed in with a chocolate strawberry on the side topped with a really hard and sticky cookie with berries in it. Everything was just placed on the plate and did not go well together. Very bad representation of French cuisine and definitely not worth the price they put on it. Almost anywhere else would've been a better choice. I learned my lesson!

One year after trying this restaurant and now I notice I did not reviewed it!!!... oh goshhh! the good thing is that one year later, I still remember the experience at Pied a Terre. This little restaurant is tucked inside a boutique hotel. Limited amount of seating, make your reservation before is a definite. Their Miami Spice Menu is delightful, will probably look for some of the pictures if I have any... more than likely I do. The food is definitely quality, great service and a great deal for Miami Spice Menu.... maybe this is a reminder to go back... and maybe time to update this review soon rather than taking a year later....

Amazing modern french cuisine experience!! The service is outstanding and the food is superb quality. From the foie gras tasting, to the veggie risotto, to the decadent venison and duck dishes, to the amazing and all-encompassing deconstructed log desert. It is a must come to place in Miami Beach for fresh, healthy and A+ quality food and wine. Wine selections are special, unique and rare to fine - not commercial wines.

After searching Yelp for a place to get a great meal we stumbled into this place. It was nothing short of the best food we have ever eaten in Miami Beach. As we walked in our ears were greeted by a pianist whose fingers were magical. The whole time we waited for our table our minds just danced with the idea that the chefs skills could be as good as the pianist. We were not disappointed. We were seated shortly and greeted by a very elegant hostess who then introduced us to the expert of the restaurant whose passion for his restaurants food shines through big time. We ordered what we initially thought sounded good and he actually made awesome suggestions and informed us of better options. Our first course was the avocado and quinoa starter. It was bursting with flavor and embodied everything that a starter should. We were served with a bread basket that included all warm delicious gluten. A raisin type bread and a traditional French baguette. Both were amazing and served with imported butter. Everything served here is light and fresh and unlike much French food was prepared without copious amounts (or any) of butter or cream. For another starter we had one of the foie gras options of which there were many. It came with a light orange marmalade type topping that was excellent. For our mains I had the duck and my wife had the Bbq beef. Both portion sizes were big but not overwhelming. The duck was tender and just great. It came with olive mashed potatoes which had a great light flavor. Our only regret was that we were too full for desert. We could see the other tables' deserts and they looked extravagant and delectable. Would absolutely dine here again. Well worth the price, which didn't seem to bad compared to some of the touristy restaurants in the area.

3.5 - 4 stars Recently had dinner at this cozy, modern French restaurant inside a small cool, retro, boutique hotel. Wild Venison fillet entree was nicely prepared, with delicious vegetables, and generous portion. The lobster 'vaudavan' entree was delicious but the accompanying Lebanese risotto was......missing. This dish needed the risotto. However, the amount of risotto served was of little consequence. The shared duo fois gras appetizer was very good, but a bit pricey for portion. Excellent bread. Interesting and varied wine list. For dessert, the cacao chocolate tart with cherry sorbet was very good. Service was very good. Valet parking available across the street at Casa Tua.

What a wonderful place It takes you back in time when wealthy people ate their breakfasts and dinners in an outdoor setting... I had a breakfast today that was served elegantly with beautiful dishes and perfectly cooked eggs fresh squeezed orange juice and bacon! The staff is gentle and responsive especially RICARDO they leave you a coffee pot and play relaxing music- I feel like I stepped back in time when comfort was valuable It's a small place... so don't tell anyone about it Ps at the end of breakfast they bring you a oven warm chocolate pastry Lastly it is inexpensive for the mood it puts u in

I've tried about 8 restaurants for Miami Spice this year and hands down this is the best! In fact, as I've given other places 5 stars already, I feel that this place should be given a 6, to show that it's really better than the other ones. Definitely a gem.The restaurant is hidden inside the Cadet Hotel, and hidden is the word because even when you are in the lobby you won't know where the restaurant is. It's up a small, unmarked flight of stairs. The restaurant itself is small, with about 10 tables and half of them two-person, so probably can fit no more than 30 people. However, this little gem has plenty of charm, cozy and not stuffy at all. Feels like you are in a little restaurant in Paris. For Miami Spice, appetizer choices include truffle celery risotto, duck confit and foie gras. Main dishes we had the cod fillet, lamb chop and duck l'orange. Dessert is floating island, a Pavlova with a creamy sauce and berries. I won't go into detail, as I probably will just be repeating the words "delicious" "flavorful" "delish" "heavenly" "excellent" over and over. Suffice to say the meat is succulent and cooked just right, I relish every bite, and it's good to the last bite - something which actually is quite a feat, as sometimes dishes that are delicious at first bite can get salty or boring as you eat on. Patrick the sommelier gave us a good recommendation. As we ordered different dishes, it's hard to pick just one bottle, but the barolo he selected manages to go well with most and amplifies the flavors of the risotto, the duck and the lamb really well. The regular menu lists most entrees around $35, and the well selected wine list has many good but lesser known wines for $50 to a few hundreds. Reasonable prices, I look forward to be back even when it's not Miami Spice month!
