Roly P. "This evening there were eight of us that have traveled together from different parts of the country gathering in Miami for dinner. We sat down and we're introduced to our waiter Alexis, the table they originally had for us was a little bit tight, when we brought it to his attention, he quickly took us to a different part of the restaurant behind the wine cellar that was extremely comfortable for a party of eight. We started the evening with cocktails, we had everything from white wine, to Mojitos, to a spicy passionfruit kettle one vodka with jalapeños, a margarita and then an old-fashioned. For dinner we had a Bronzino, several 10 ounce filet mignon and a few racks of lamb. For dessert we had a chocolate brownie with a vanilla ice cream that was decadent. It was a fabulous culinary experience."

Nina C. "Came to this bar for a mixer and had been wanting to come here for a while, it's in a lively spot downtown near the Jewelry district, and parking can be a bit difficult unless you want to pay lots for a garage. Eventually we found a street spot and just had to walk a few blocks to get to the bar. When you come in, it's one room, they have a nice decorated wall with a big neon sign and good music playing, a little too loud to be great for meeting new people but It was what I expected from a bar though. The bathrooms are all gender, and being that there are only two individual bathrooms the line can get a bit long. Still, I had a nice time, all I drank, was a high noon seltzer, so I can't speak to the quality of the cocktails, but we didn't have to wait long to get our drink despite there being a full bar. Thank you!"

Those are the fun evenings where people here my legend of the Miami Lakes Cowfield, we nametag the newbie and in general have an awesome time. However, it was interrupted by a thing that shall not be named. However, we have an awesome CM and great south Florida business community that sent me an Elite Perk, almost a solo Elite event for Happy Hour and I had the chance to enjoy the week at least for a couple of hours.Tucked away and up a cool spiral staircase from the SLS Brickell lobby, SAAM lounge has a very sultry and rich vibe with comfy leather couches, live jazz and a romantic nook or two. My waitress showed me the Happy Hour menu for my complimentary cocktails and recommended their "Herby Old Fashioned". Infused with CBD, the smooth blend of TimCup Whiskey, Rosemary and Angostrura this was the perfect way to unwind from the news and the week in general.Being affiliated with Fi'lia, the bar bites menu was Italian (my favorite type but you knew that!) Juicy meatballs, a Diavola marinara sauce and creamy mozzarella - as well as fried mozzarella balls - were my favorite.Being Friday, I could definitely use another drink and went for their mango rum. However, I was informed they were out of mango...but not rum. My waitress saved me with a couple of rum cocktails mixed with fresh muddled berries, guava syrup and a lime (for Vitamin C :)"

We started with the Miso Soup and ordered the Sakana San Shu and Negi Toro for our rolls. When our order arrived, we were surprised to find that we had to mix the miso into the broth ourselves. While the rolls were on the pricey side, they were of exceptional quality. We also sampled a dish from the Japanese charcoal grill, which was good but didn't stand out as much as we had hoped--more like something you might find at a typical Japanese BBQ but twice the price. The word platter made me think more than one dim sum. I wish it were so!Then you get duck pancakes which were pretty good! Followed by the main, I upgraded to the cod which was good, but perhaps not the best on the table. I tried the shrimp, chicken and pork too and felt the shrimp and chicken were the best flavored. Ended with a refreshing sorbet (two small scoops). I'd say for Miami Spice, it's not a bad deal to try this spot out! Otherwise the menu looks a little pricey. I didn't think it went with the chicken but it was really good on its own. As for the chicken, it was very moist and came out as 4 large pieces fried perfectly. Thanks to Morocco and Austin (and truly, the whole staff) for making the experience so delightful. Our group arrived at different times, so we all started with cocktails at the bar for happy hour. I really enjoyed my saketini, which was sweet but not overpowering. For dinner, I started with the nigiri flight (with the extra $10 upgrade to 6 pieces). I think this was the highlight of my meal, and I spent the rest of my meal wishing I had just ordered more tuna nigiri! Not to say the wagyu fried rice wasn't lovely - it was, but was such a different flavor from my starter. Rich, heavy, and a soft boiled egg with the most delicious yolk. I ended with the peach cobbler which I could've skipped if it weren't for Spice. It was good, but not great, and while the peaches added a nice texture to the cobbler, not much of the bourbon or cinnamon flavor profile I was hoping for. I'd come back to try a different dessert in the future.Throughout the meal, drinks were filled quickly and staff were checking in on us without hovering. The multiple off-menu Spice options were a nice surprise, and definitely inspires me to return to try another aspect of Kissaki's dishes. I also really like the decor, which was both cozy and chic - great for date night! And most of all, I love an open kitchen where you can see all the painstaking effort that goes into each dish. One thing to note, the tables aren't great for groups. Come as a couple or sit at the bar - I'm short, and my knees were still knocking against the table legs as we were in a corner booth with an extra table pushed together. Luckily I like my friends, and plates were whisked away quickly so the small space wasn't too much of an issue. Also, parking in the public lot along South Pointe was super easy."

Rebecca H. "After seeing Macchalina on most of the "places you have to eat in Miami" lists, I knew it would be a good place to take GF during her birthday trip. I was very aggressive in making every dinner reservation for 7pm, seemingly under the impression that we aren't old and grandmas now. They don't allow you make a chance on the Resy app, the platform they use for reservations, so I, literally, as a millennial, had to CALL and SPEAK TO A PERSON. It was actually pretty painless. It would be no problem to change our reservation to 6pm. Phew. It was a short drive from our South Beach hotel. I was debating between indoors and outdoors when I was making the reservation but I'm glad I chose indoors. The outdoor eating area is really cute, I love what they did with the decor, but they use these massive fans to keep air circulating. This is probably entirely necessary given the heat but I don't know if I would want my food blowing all over the place. Both servers who waited on our table were super friendly and helpful. As a pescetarian, she really wanted to sample the seafood. I really wanted to do the tasting menu but as a vegetarian, this would mean she wouldn't be able to wrap her lips around that oceany shit. After a lot of deliberation, we discussed our concerns with the waiter and asked if we could get a majority of vegetarian dishes with maybe a dish or two of seafood and, to our relief, he reassured us that this shouldn't be a problem. Like most other places we patronized in Miami, their drink menu has many intriguing options. I love how they include the ABV as it provides helpful info I never knew I needed. Even though I don't like martinis, I can definitely appreciate the option they provide to order a mini version or a normal-sized version. Anyways, I ordered a "what's your spaghetti policy" with whiskey, banana, crème de cacao, peychaud's, and absinthe. What on earth? So much depth I almost couldn't take it. It was on the stronger side, almost too strong for my juvenile palate. GF, with a more mature palate, ordered one of the martinis. She "thought it was good". Our first course started with a salad that was DIVINE. I love that dressing and the combo of textures. I ate pretty much all of it as one of our other appetizers was polenta with mushrooms. A vegetarian who doesn't like mushrooms crosses a shame boundary for me and I never mention it. Fortunately, GF loves the stuff and gobbled up the mushrooms for me. The mushroom-less polenta spoonfuls I was able to procure were DELICIOUS and so flavorful. Finally, we were served the burrata toast with arugula and cherry tomatoes. Again, a really wonderful and tasty dish. The second course brought us three pasta dishes: spaghetti marinara (DIVINE), fettuccine in a cream sauce with mushrooms (ugh), and a gnocchi-type shape with sage, parmesan and I'm sure some other shit but things were starting to get hazy with that cocktail. Everything was spectacular. The pasta was al dente to perfection with a wonderful texture, I would hazard to guess homemade and if not what is that brand? The flavors of the sauces were unreal, every single one of them. I want to buy it by the pound. Do they gold belly? Finally, and GF held off a little bit up until this point expecting to eat most of what was presumed to be a seafood entree, we were served the main. It was a cauliflower steak. GF was SO disappointed. The only reason we went with the tasting menu was because we were under the impression we could get seafood as well. It must have been a miscommunication but was extremely disappointing. Especially, as GF remarks, the price was the same for a bunch of veggies as who knows what fantastic and luxurious shit they serve the carnivores. Dessert was mini tiramisu jars and again, as you probably expect, was amazing. The food rivals some of the best pasta I've had in memory and everything was exceptional. The service was also top notch. The disappointment/misunderstanding about the dietary restrictions was disappointing and did put a damper on the evening but I can't help but recommend the shit out of this restaurant."
