"Food was absolutely spectacular. Wish I could finish my plate but it was such good portions and I KNEW I had to save room for dessert and coffee. Our waiter knew exactly what he was talking about and gave great recommendations. They even had off the menus specials. That night they had red snapper with creamy white sauce. My friend got it and let me try a bite and it was so good. Our other friend got the ox tail stew and I am still thinking about it. Very fun ambiance. Seemed like everyone there was having a birthday and the staff was all singing and having fun."

"Authentic Jamaican food for great prices. I've never been to the actual location to be honest I have only ordered out from them. Every year at LEAST for one holiday we order from Jamaica Kitchen. We basically get the most food to enjoy everything this spot has to offer. I have tried everything and can easily tell you it taste authentic and taste amazing. Their patties are el fuego. I love them spicy but will eat them both mild and spicy. Beef and cheese patties omg. Melt in your mouth good. I've also had the oxtail and jerk chicken. So good. They have the best jerk chicken. It's spicy but not crazy spicy. Their fried rice and pigeon peas are also superb. Really great spot to grab food Jamaican food. Will be catering with them again very soon."

"We went in here with no reservations and surprisingly got seated right away. The service is what gives this 4 stars. The attention that servers give is unmatched. The music is semi loud but it's a Cuban place so you should expect it. Service, music and decor was top tier and just amazing. But not all of the food was good. The arroz de campo was ok but was missing flavor and not what we were expecting when we received it.The tres leche dessert was amazing. I would go back just for this and drinks. Amazing, and the little car outside, great touch. The price is high and the drinks are worth it same with dessert and customer service as well. Otherwise the music and customer service definitely makes me want to come back. As well as the dessert"

"I found myself in Miami Beach in search of some AUTHENTIC Caribbean oxtail and mac and cheese. A local suggested that this place was worth the Uber ride from Sobe. She was so correct! Clive's has a really casual atmosphere with a down home country feel . I felt like this was someone's house in my neighborhood and I was there to pick up my 'plate' from the cookout, ha! There were kids arriving from school and completing homework in one corner of the restaurant. To complete the country feel; as soon as I sat down , I was quickly brought a nice cold glass of water. "Garden House is a good alternative to the different restaurant options in Miami Beach. It is not our favorite but we had a good time during our 4th of July stay. It's much smaller than it looks in photos. There is a small outdoor patio and and small indoor area. We opted to sit outside which is a lot cuter. I didn't like that the floors were all wet and it took a long time for service but other than that the food was great. We loved their seafood platter which was only about $30 which came with fish, shrimp, calamari, and fried plantains. It was delicious. When we came on 4th of July night it wasn't busy at all. However I hear it gets pretty busy during the weekends so reservations is recommend since its smaller. We always just park in the nearby parking structure."

"If Bolay went to Jamaica and had a love child, it would be Jrk. Located in the Treat's Food Hall at Aventura Mall, Jrk offers a mixture of island cuisine in a bowl.It was pretty busy and noisy in the mall on a Saturday afternoon, but the line was moving steadily. All bowls include one base, one protein, three toppings, and a sauce. There's also patties, rum cakes, jerk mac & cheese, and cold beverages. Prices are moderate.After looking at the choices quickly, I decided to fill my bowl with rice & peas (base), BBQ chicken (protein), pineapple plantains, pineapple-mango salsa, and yuca sticks (toppings), with vinaigrette dressing on the side (sauce). I took the food home cause Aventura Mall is not a place I like to hang out at.Now that I'm comfortable at home I can proceed to give my views on the food:* Rice & peas - was cooked to soft consistency. Was delicious with a sweet flavor like it was cooked with coconut milk* BBQ chicken - was yummy. Tender cuts of chicken covered in a sweet BBQ sauce* Yuca fries - I like yuca, but never had them like this. Lightly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I could definitely eat more of this* Pineapple-mango salsa - the pineapple/mango mixture was very sweet and didn't have that tangy taste I'm accustomed of, but it was ok* Pineapple plantains - I don't know how they got these plantains to have a sweet pineapple flavor but it was real damn good!I thoroughly enjoyed the food and can see myself eating at Jrk again. I would prefer to eat at a location more closer to me though. I'm not always in the mood to drive all the way down to Aventura."

The quantities are huge. Quick service. Has Bollywood music playing in the background giving it a Dhaba or small town restaurant feel. The naan felt doughey but other than that it's a must try if you are into budget friendly ethnic cuisines."

"Came by for some Trinidadian food in a road trip in Florida. The shop is casual and located in a small strip mall. There's parking in the front and very ample parking in the back as well. The staff were extremely friendly and food came out lightening fast. We got two doubles which were a delicious mess of chickpeas and roti. They were generous with the filling and gave us a healthy splash of their hot chili sauce as well. The beef pie was good but not as differentiated and a bit skimpy on meat filling, but the doubles really stole the show. Interior has some seating but is mostly take and go. Prices are very affordable for the portion sizes."

"I was visiting Ft Lauderdale and ran into this gem. I ordered the curry chicken with rice and peas and boiled dumplings. I was a bit surprised to hear the food was "made to order" and that it would take 35 mins to prepare as I was starving! Unfortunately it took 1 hour and 15 mins to prepare, but I have to say the chef put his heart and soul into this dish. It was fresh and delicious and made this Jamaican proud! I highly recommend this restaurant, just be sure to plan ahead and call in your order before you go. They do have a small counter space for you to eat, but most of their business seems to be take out. I also want to add that the owner was kind enough to offer a beverage for the long wait. I had the homemade fruit punch and that was also awesome. If you're looking for amazing Jamaican cuisine, give this place a try!"

"One of my top options for lunch! And even dinner sometimes. Super affordable and convenient location closed to the house. Great lunch specials as far as options and pricing. Will definitely fill you up especially for a lunch. Might even call it a heavy lunch. Can't go wrong with jerk or brown stew chicken and you get three sides! (I can eat rice and peas everyday for the rest of my life) My only complaint is sometimes the rice is really dry and the chicken pieces have more bones than actual meat. Their patties can be on the chewier side. Also, they are always confused about the Yelp check in offer of free lemonade/drink so I stopped trying to claim that. Despite all that, the flavors are consistent and so are the portions. Still a fan and will be a returning customer!"

These days I am always craving chicken with peas and rice so when I was scrolling through my delivery options and saw Jerk Chicken I was sold. Very quick preparation and delivery. Very generous portion as you can see from the photo! The chicken was delicious; probably a half bird I think. Super flavorful; and that sauce that came with it was great! A nice little burst of heat. Peas and rice were delicious probably made the right way with coconut milk. Especially the bites where that yummy sauce had leaked through! Amazing! I would totally come back here and would love to actually have the time and energy to dine in and get the full experience! But I have no regrets and enjoyed a wonderful meal!"

"Last week, we stopped by this place for lunch. It recently opened at this location a couple of months ago. We have been to Jamaica a few times and miss having some of their dishes. So this is the closest we can get to it for now. The ambiance is very nice with beautiful decor and furniture with large, comfortable couches. Nice and clean.They have generous portions of the bowls, so we decided to split the chicken bowl with rice and peas, yuca sticks, salsa, pineapple, and mango. It was good, but for me, it was a little too spicy. Still good though.The staff are so nice and helpful! We enjoyed chatting with them. They make you feel welcome. Our server was Brandon, who was friendly and attentive. They also have live music with a DJ booth at night.Parking is not the easiest because it is downtown Miami. We will come back again in the future."

"I went on a Wednesday for lunch. The restaurant was empty. I ordered at the counter and my food was ready in less than 10 minutes. It is served in To-go containers. I had the brown chicken stew lunch special for $7. They charge 50 cents for a cup of faucet water. They only gave me a plastic fork. A knife would have been nice. The chicken was tender and flavorful. It was served with cabbage, rice and beans, and plantains. Overall, it was good food. It's inside dining only, but everyone got carry out they I saw come in while I was there. The ladies restroom was locked while I was there. I used the men's restroom. It had no paper towels and the faucet was missing a handle. There is plenty of parking in the attached lot."

"This was my first time in Dade County. A friend of mine asked me to accompany him for dinner and he chose to dine at Tropical Oasis. The restaurant is located in a plaza along State Rd. 7 (441). Once inside, you'll see the take-out counter with a few seats for customers to sit and wait while the food is being prepared. To the left of the take-out counter, you go through a door and you are in the dining area where there are adequate table seating and a flat screen TV on the wall. A friendly female employee came by our table and gave us each a menu. Within a few minutes, she returned and took our orders. My friend ordered curry goat while I ordered brown stew chicken. Both meals was served with rice & peas, steamed cabbage, and a fried plantain. About 5 or 6 minutes, the female brought out our food. Visually it looked delicious. Here's what I thought about my meal...* The rice & peas was nicely cooked to a soft consistency, but it was a bit dry. I should have asked for some sauce on the side* The brown stew chicken was tender and browned in a flavorful sauce* The fried plantain was sweet. Wish I could have had two more* The steamed cabbage had a crunchy texture and tasted bland. Needed a bit of saltMy friend ate what he wanted and pushed the rest aside. I left back a small portion of the food and asked the female employee for a container to take my leftovers home. Before leaving, I looked around for a take-out menu, but I didn't see any. Who knows if I will ever return to this restaurant again. I'll leave the decision up to my friend."

It is easy to miss in a side plaza, and not in the best neighborhood. There is an abundance of other caribbean/jamaican restaurants in the area so competition must be tough. The owner told me they had been there 8 years.... which shocked me since there was no yelp reviews. This place is an undiscovered gem and i never see it too busy. Do yourself a favor and stop by if you are ever in the area."
