Me and some friends went for a birthday dinner and were extremely pleased with the food, service and ambiance. The warm lighting, cozy seating, and tasteful decor created a welcoming environment perfect for a casual meal or a special occasion. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and eager to make our dining experienced memorable. The staff went out of their way to make the birthday girl feel special by bringing out complimentary dessert and drinks. The food was also phenomenal. We started with the burrata and prosciutto and I had the Rigatoni Amitriciana for my main course. The food was all very flavorful. For drinks I recommend the espresso martini. It had the perfect blend of espresso, smooth vodka, and just the right amount of sweetness.

food is...fine. it's not classic italian, it's some kind of semi-modern take on high end italian, and it's a bit overworked. the flavors were good but everything was a bit too creamy or greasy or fatty in general. overall it was overpriced but not crazily so. the wine selection is mediocre and way overpriced. mainly though the service is just terrible. we sat for almost 30 minutes without seeing a server. i had to call across the otherwise empty restaurant (literally two tables were seated) to interrupt the staff who were just talking to each other to get someone to come over and take our order. not once did anyone ever come by our table to inquire if everything was ok after food was plated, for either course. the bartender basically couldn't be bothered to pour wine glasses for us. when we left no one said a single word to us. it was the most indifferent, disappointing service i've had in a while at a theoretically fancy restaurant. i would not go back.

Mamo is an excellent addition for Italian food in Brickell on Brickell Ave. The food is good and the ambiance is similar to a luxury location. Service is very good. I would like to see a larger option of pasta's personally because it seems most Italian restaurants are very similar in menu's, however, Mamo prepares items with excellence.

My colleagues and I came here for dinner on a weekday night, and I had the Capelli d'angelo, gamberi e pistacchi (angel hair, shrimp, pistachios) ($38). It was fantastic, and the flavors were mild but super delicious. By the time I was finishing the pasta, the sauce and pasta had congealed together so I had to use a knife to cut the pasta into bite-sized pieces, but the taste was still very good. We also shared one of their specials appetizers, a burrata with truffle and honey - it was superb. All in all a great experience, and staff was kind too!

My friend and I dined at Mamo last night and it was my first time. The reviews are great and I was able to get a last minute dinner reservation on a Friday night at the last minute, so I thought I'd lucked out. The restaurant is situated in small plaza and doesn't feel as fancy as the prices indicate. I think maybe they should draw the curtains or something to make the atmosphere feel more plush and intimate. To start we each ordered a cocktail, I had the Il Giardiniere, it wasn't my favorite cocktail ever but it was tasty. For our appetizers, we ordered the Insalata di polpo e ceci and the Come a Capri. The tomatoes and the tapenade they serve with the bread stole the show, the rest was pretty average. For our entrees, we had the Maltagliati verdi alla bolognese and the Vitello alla milanese con insalata. Neither was anything to write home about. For dessert we ordered the Tiramisù and the My Son's Sundae. I consider myself to be a tiramisu expert since it's my favorite and I've had more than I'd like to admit, this was the worst tiramisu I've ever tried. The sundae was by far the best dish we had. The crumble they add is delicious. Overall though, the experience was average at best and I don't see myself going back. If you visit, be sure to keep in mind that they add 20% gratuity for unimpressive service. Ours was a very expensive but just okay meal.

I thought about taking off a star because of $$$$, but it was very good.I went for lunch & was pleasantly surprised that they include fresh Italian bread with a small serving of amazing eggplant and a soppressata (that my friend loved). They also brought olive oil & Balsamic vinegar. We started with the fried artichokes which were very good. Then I had the tagliatelle with pesto, cherry tomatoes & burrata. It was very good & I really enjoyed the perfectly cooked taglatelle - I wonder if it was freshly made.We ended with the creme brulee which had a generous amount of raspberries & strawberries that made it all the better.Service was efficient, professional & everyone was knowledgeable about the menu.I would go again, but it's not inexpensive so I won't go too often :)

First, the bartender introduced me to a new gin which was fantastic and I appreciate that he was interested! Service excellence. The food was excellent. I chose the 4 course meal for $60. It's offered Sunday Monday. Each course was outstanding. Tuna appetizer excellent and fresh. Pasta with shrimp and pistachios likely the best ever. Branzino took home and the strawberry dessert was the best ever strawberry dessert. The appetizers are pricey however the portion size is easily shared. Ambiance beautiful restaurant.

I recently visited MAMO Miami in Brickell, and while the restaurant has a cute ambiance, it's seriously overpriced for what you get. One of the biggest issues was the lack of transparency--we were hit with a $27 charge for still water, which wasn't disclosed upfront. It would've been nice to know before it showed up on the bill. The Miami Spice menu was underwhelming and lacked flexibility. I ordered the antipasta with Burrata, and they tacked on an extra $15 for something that wasn't even good. None of my friends enjoyed their food either; we were all pretty disappointed.Desserts were just as lackluster--one option was ice cream with warmed-up strawberries, which I could easily make at home. Although the servers were attentive and respectable, that's about the only positive.Compared to Nobu or Komodo, MAMO doesn't justify the steep prices for what you're getting. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all, and I'm even considering disputing the charge with my bank. Save your time and money, and go somewhere else!I would out a 1 but due to the ambiance, I give it a 2.
