I had an incredible dining experience at La Mar by Gastón Acurio! The atmosphere is fantastic, with both indoor and outdoor seating options that offer beautiful views of the Brickell skyline. Whether you're inside or out, the ambiance is perfect for a special night.I tried the Anticucho de Pulpo (grilled Spanish octopus with chimichurri, pesto foam, botija olive aioli, crispy capers, and garlic. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the octopus was cooked just right tender and flavorful.Next, I had the Causa Crab , which was made with beet causa, blue crab, tobiko, avocado, and huancaína sauce. The presentation was beautiful, and each bite was a delightful blend of fresh seafood and rich Peruvian flavors. For the main, I went with the Peruvian Trout Miso, featuring steelhead trout glazed with sesame, seasonal vegetables, panca lemongrass, and white chaufa. The trout was cooked to perfection, and the glaze added a wonderful depth to the dish. (a little spicy)To accompany the meal, I had two amazing cocktails. The Maracuyá Sour ,made with pisco quebranta, lime, passionfruit, egg white, and angostura bitters, was a refreshing twist on the classic pisco sour. I also enjoyed the Cancha Old Fashioned , crafted with Peruvian black whiskey, cancha, demerara, and smoke. Both drinks were expertly made and added a perfect touch to the meal. They also have a kids' menu, which doubles as a coloring book to keep the little ones entertained. The options include Peruvian specialties like:* Fish Jaleita : Fried "chicharrón style" fish with yuca and tartar sauce* Huanc and Cheese : A Peruvian twist on macaroni and cheese with creamy huancaína sauce* Chaufita : Fried rice with Angus beef and soy sauce* Chicken Anticucho: Grilled chicken served with French friesThey also offer American favorites like:Grilled Cheese Sandwich Chicken Fingers Macaroni and Cheese Peanut Butter and JellyLa Mar is not just a great spot for adults but also perfect for families. If you're dining with kids, they've got you covered!Overall, La Mar offers an exceptional dining experience with creative dishes, stunning views, and top-notch service. I highly recommend it!

Beautiful experience all around. The view from the outside dining was breathtaking, the service was topnotch, among the best I've seen. Appetizers:Pulpo: as delicious as it was beautiful. Purple dots of olive cream and green dots of herbed aioli framed a lovely piece of grilled octopus. Churros de Trucha: crispy churros, filled with smoked trout mousse, crème fraiche with truffle oil, salmon slices, caviar= delightful and uniqueMain:Arroz pegado: sticky rice with seafood (prawns and clams)Fried fish of the day: nuggets of fried fish plated in the breaded fish with sweet sauce.Dessert: Pavlova: light airy and delicateChocolate cake, birthday comp: good muffin-like cake with a scoop of strawberry ice creamLucuma Chocolate Mousse: the Lucuma one was especially good because it has a rich velvety flavor and unique flavor option that is uniquely Peruvian

Came here for my birthday dinner on a Friday evening after having this spot on my list for YEARS now. Having traveled all over Peru just a few years ago, Gastón is definitely the pride and joy of their country. We tried a variety of dishes to start, the duck tiradito was superb and the conchitas were incredible and the presentation was pure magic. The octopus was great as well. We also shared the lomo (obviously we have to try the signature dish of Peru) and the achupado was delicious and very rich. We ended up taking half of the lomo and achupado home as we were actually pretty full after having several cocktails along with dinner. The view of the Miami skyline at sunset is amazing and sets the vibe for a romantic night. The service is also top notch as well. Definitely want to come back for their iconic brunch

Wow! I have been wanting to go to this restaurant for so long, and it was completely worth it! I loved it so much. The view and the ambiance are amazing (what more could you ask for than seeing the whole Miami skyline?). The service was amazing. Our waitress was super sweet, and he kindly explained the whole menu. Plus, I loved that every time we got a dish, they explained it. Now, onto the food--we ordered tiradito, ceviche clásico, lomo saltado, and anticucho de pollo. Everything was amazing, and you can tell how much love goes into every dish. The taste was incredible, and the presentation was top-notch. Oh and desserts, the chocolate cake and the merengue were amazing.

This is a standout Peruvian restaurants in Brickell offers not only authentic and flavorful dishes but also stunning views of the Miami skyline. The menu features traditional Peruvian favorites like ceviche, lomo saltado, and fresh seafood, all prepared with a modern twist. The ambiance is upscale yet relaxed, perfect for a night out or a special occasion. The outdoor seating takes full advantage of the location, allowing diners to enjoy breathtaking views while indulging in delicious food. Overall, it's a must-visit spot for both the cuisine and the scenery. Service was excellent as well, came for my girlfriend's birthday. Drinks were delicious!

The view is fantastic. The service was good. The food was excellent but quite expensive. We were not thrilled with the surprise 20% service charge added on the end. If there was a noticew about this somewhereh we did not see it. Then the waiter smoothly told us it would go to all the staff and (nicely) implied we should givve more. Which my kind-hearted SIL did. It was lovely but I came away feeling a bit taken advantage of. By the way, they are moving to another location in a few months so who knows how the view will be then?

Pros: Acurio's restaurants always exceed my expectations. We had a delicious feast, starting with the churros as an appetizer, wow, so original and delightful! I had the beet crab causa and hubby had the seafood pepian. The pepian was the star of the night, reminded me of my grandmas cooking, pure perfection. I also had the chicha sour and hubby had a non alcohol drink, both were good.Cons: you have to valet park, which is always annoying (for me). The parking is $18 with validation, overpriced.I didn't mind the price of the meals, but the drinks were too pricey $19 for a small sour is a bit much.Definitely going back!

Excellent. Not Michelin, but almost there. Finally went to La Mar. We had to change reservations multiple times during the day...blame it on copious amounts of Gray Goose, but they accommodated us and obliged us. We arrive and had the most beautiful view of Miami. I was transported to the Tequesta Indians and Fort Dallas pioneers of old. Just amazing. We ordered the octopus (pulpo for my non-anglos) and it was perfection. We then had the fried fish a la fried Asian. My God what a culinary fusion. I felt like I was in Macao or Hong Kong. We drank a perfect Albariño--the sole white for fish-- and were elevated to perfection. And then as if this was insufficient we had the chocolate cake. Perhaps the best I've had ever. Hats off to the desert chef! I learned that the whole location was going to come down shortly, so make your way to La Mar before it joins those colonial ships leaving Macao and Hong Kong. Our server was Basque and she brought a unique knowledge of seafood; appropriate to that region of Spain known for its culinary tradition.
