La Fayette Cajun Seafood Restaurant

Really weird place with good food. It's in a sketchy place surrounded by taco huts and a busyness that's a bit unnerving if you're from a small town, it was Friday at 7 and only one other table was occupied, so I was genuinely concerned about my choice. Also, Outside the window was a woman dancing frantically with two small children at her feet. I think she was looking to 'party'. The owner/waiter was friendly but not really interested in our order. We had to flag him down several times. One time when he was missing in action, we discovered he was outside with the dancer! Anyway, food was good, prices were reasonable and the owner became very personable over time.

I am a Cajun man from south Louisiana. The food tasted almost HALF decent but the Latin manager told me that he was more Cajun than I am. He was very cocky and rude the whole visit. I'm a Cajun chef and I can cook better on an off day.

Love this place! Family owned business. The service is always quick and very friendly.I alway get the Michelada (Not on the Menu). Tangy with a little spicy kick. (See my photos). So good.My favorite is #88 Langoustines, which is half Crawfish Étouffée and half Fried Crawfish. You can have it with white or dirty rice. This is so good. Highly recommended.#60 Seafood Platter is also one of our favorites. Comes with fried catfish, stuffed crab, fried oysters, and fried shrimp. Lots of good eats.Recommend making a stop here for good seafood.

Okay, first off, I'm rating the food, not the location or the "living-in-the-70s" decor.We've been coming here since a friend said the food was very good as the chef used to work at Pappadeaux's. It's true, the Snapper Pontchartrain tastes like Pappadeaux's without the higher price - it was about $14! It's my husband's favorite.I had the special, Lobster Tail Pasta with rose cream sauce. It came with four grilled shrimp and generous slices of garlic bread ... for $16.50!!!My husband finished his snapper and said he was ordering a Lobster Tail Pasta to go for tomorrow's dinner! Well, I ordered another favorite, the catfish with dirty rice to go for MY dinner tomorrow!"Houston, what are you waiting for?!!?"

I love this place and the manager is such a sweet guy.I'm surprised it don't be getting packed cause their pasta is a 10/10 I highly recommend their Lafayette pasta

This seafood restaurant is fabulous!! The food is similar to Pappadeaux but half the price. I loved the crab bisque! Everything i've had has been delicious. My friends and I meet here at least once a month. The Shrimp Diablo is excellent! If no parking available, we park at the huge lot next door with no problem. House wine and beer is also available.

Holy shit! I never start my reviews like this or anything! I came here for my grandpa's birthday and I ordered the snapper Ponchartrain, it was so amazing I completely cleaned out my plate. It was amazing! Definitely coming back!! Let's talk about the service, very good and friendly staff. The restaurant was clean and the ambiance was nice. Plenty of TVs to watch while eating and Spanish music in the background makes the place feel enjoyable. We also ordered Alligator Meatballs and Alligator bites. Those were also very good and tasted good. 10000/10 would definitely recommend!!!

Tried this place on a whim and totally regret it. Got 2 LB of crawfish Cajun spice boil. What I got was crawfish boiled in plain water. No seasoning what so ever. Not even salt. Will not be going back. You have been warned.

Dinner tonight good food at reasonable prices. We will be back Every bit as good as Pappas seafood at about half the price
