Finally decide to head over to this restaurant after being in Brenham for a bit now. Finally, a place that reminds me of my former city San Antonio...a taqueria. Those who may not know, a taqueria is not just simply a Mexican restaurant but often combined a frutería with its aqua frescas, paletas, fruit, milk shakes limonados and so forth with usually a food stand having tacos, tortas, caldos and so forth. This is definitely something I missed. As always beginning with the service. Friendly and helpful as usual. The food was great and yes does remind me of similar restaurants in San Antonio. It is always a good sign when you are the only gringo in one of these places. I did try a paleta de coco and it was ok...too sweet for my taste. Next time I need to try the mango though it is going to be difficult to bet El Paraiso from San Antonio.Overall a great place and I will return to get a taste that is not available anywhere around here. Now on to find decent traditional Tex-Mex food around here, something of a challenge apparently.

I just took the family here. Its very amazing, small authentic Mexican food, homemade small but perfect kitchen, fresh food and deserts...kid friendly! Its not a main stream place but I would keep this place a secret because its that good. Fresh fruit cups and smoothies, tacos and soups. Its perfect. Highly recommend!!

Authentic fresh Mexican food, not the greasy Tex-mex stuff. You'll find good menudo, caldo, mole, tacos, Pollo entomatado with rice & beans. Handmade warm tortillas. Aguas frescas. On the outside it doesn't look like much, like a hole in the wall, next to a washateria. But the inside has several sitting tables & the food is legit. Don't come for the looks but the delicious authentic food! Prices are reasonable, about $6.99 for meat plates and less for tacos. Very friendly and service-oriented ladies working in the kitchen - thank you for an enjoyable lunch. We stopped here on our way to Houston from Austin.

Excellent little place that I grabbed breakfast at. The burrito was huge and delicious. And the huge drink was (and still is) tasty.
