Had lunch here and the sushi was delicious! I like my sushi pretty simple, but I wanted something different so I went with the Houston roll. Very good - it came with tuna, salmon, white fish, avocado and masago. I must say that the slices are very big, so it was somewhat cumbersome for me to eat them because they are more like two bites of food instead of one like traditional sushi. Flavors were delicious though! I also got another roll - tuna avocado. This didn't disappoint either. The sushi is affordably priced which is much appreciated. My friend had the Mt. Fuji Volcano and the Flying Octupus. The Mt. Fuji Volcano came in on fire and the Flying Octupus had a bear design. Definitely fun menu options! We really enjoyed our time here and the staff was super friendly! Highly recommend trying this place if you like sushi :)

My sorority sister told me that this place was delicious for sushi and I would definitely agree. I had Shrimp Shumai, Miso Soup, and the Samurai roll. It was so delicious and for a very reasonable price! 10/10 highly recommend

My 26 yr old son & I have been coming to Sushi Wabi for many years. We ate dinner here a week before Christmas, before Christmas shopping. I usually get the Sushi platter. The raw fish tasted funny and so did the rolls, I had to spit out and quit eating my food. I even let the server know and I don't think they really cared. I just wanted to leave. Not going to go back there. This place we used to love has become awful. So sad really. We will go where we originally thought about and usually go to, Osaka (in the Montrose).

Meh!The best food in this place is on the TV, in those cooking shows and not what you actually get.Flavorless, overpriced food in somewhat cozy setting.Basil Wings: The chicken was excessively salty, to the point where it felt like I had just ingested a spoonful of salt. The sauce was, well, not much better - it was an overwhelming, sugary, gooey mess that did no favors for the already burnt basil.Yakisoba Noodles. Sure, they might look pretty in a picture, but that's where the appeal ends. These noodles lacked any discernible flavor, as if they had forgotten to add salt or seasoning altogether. It was a pretty bland affair, especially when you consider the sodium overload from the Basil Wings. It's almost like they put all the salt in one dish and forgot about the others.

Chirashi was good! Can't go wrong with sashimi on sushi rice! Also had chicken wings which were okay! Really really enjoyed the beef yakitori! Our waitress was really nice! Loved how there was no wait on a Friday night

As I strolled through the Greenway area of Houston, my stomach yearning for a dose of raw fish, I stumbled upon Sushi Wabi. My usual haunt, Oiishi, was packed to the gills (pun intended) with an hour-long wait, so I decided to take a chance on this lesser-known establishment. As I soon discovered, Sushi Wabi can best be described as suburban sushi - a far cry from the vibrant, bustling fish markets I've frequented on my travels, yet a place with its own distinct charm. We started with some appetizers, hoping to set the stage for a memorable sushi experience. Alas, the shu mai was a dismal zero out of five - reminiscent of those quarter-sized, freezer-section dumplings one might find in a bargain supermarket. My fiancé tried the shrimp tempura, which he detested, likening the batter to that of a corn dog (a ghastly comparison for a sushi joint). I generously granted it a 3/5, allowing room for personal preference. The rolls, however, were a mixed bag. The Shaggy Dog was an unexpected delight for my cream cheese-loving palate, but a word to the wise: if you're not a fan of the tangy, creamy spread, steer clear. The true star of the show was the Tokyo roll - a flawless 5/5, leaving us with dreams of neon-lit streets and bustling izakayas.Unfortunately, our adventure took a downturn with the spicy salmon roll. It was like a cruel game of Russian roulette, the heat so intense it was virtually inedible. It's safe to say we've had our fill of capsaicin for the foreseeable future. As for the service, imagine skim milk trying to pass as whole - a pale imitation of the real deal. Our elusive waitress seemed more skilled at hide-and-seek than taking orders, leaving the busboy to pick up the slack. In an astonishing twist, our salmon cannonball dish never arrived, lost to the abyss of forgotten orders. In summary, Sushi Wabi is the embodiment of suburban sushi - a dimly-lit culinary detour, with a few unexpected highs and some undeniable lows. Next time, perhaps we'll just brave the hour-long wait at Oiishi, but Sushi Wabi will live on in our memories as a humorous, if somewhat depressing, adventure into the world of subpar sushi

Solid sushi spot in the area! Came in a Sunday evening and parking was a train wreck with a large crowd going to Urban Social on the same block (not sure why so many people were clubbing on Sunday night??) - nevertheless once we arrived, we were seated right away and had a good experience. Service was prompt and the tables/booths had lots of space. For sushi rolls we ordered the Tiger Eye and Rising Sun, both of which I would get again. Then we ended our meal with a nice hot bowl of udon - great shareable dish for a cold weather day!

Um YES! I was gonna grab a coffee when hunger overcame me & the idea of sushi brought me here for lunch. Their lunch menu is 12p-3p and everything is around $15 but the value is great. I had a good miso soup, delicious 6 piece chefs choice sashimi (seared tuna w hot mustard, escolar, shrimp, yellowtail w green onions, salmon, tuna), and a huge California roll. They garnished with kale which I ate bc superfood... lol. Service was fast & pleasant! The restaurant is beautiful and private too.

should be called mushy soggy shrimp. It was completely inedible. The udon also had no flavor at all. I kept trying to add things to make it edible, but I couldn't. This job did nothing to compensate the fact that I didn't eat either of those things. However, the squid, nigiri and the Hamachi were both very good. I asked the waitress what fish came in Fresh today ?????and she said nothing I should've turned around immediately and walked out.
