"So glad we have an Ostineria Michoacan Seafood and Oyster Bar just south of The Woodlands. No more driving south of Greenspoint for my Mexican Seafood delights. This restaurant is on the southbound feeder after Nursery Rd and the big "Brake Check" sign in the next strip center. This will be the closest to being in a tropical resort way down in Mexico when you read about all the wonderful seafood delights. The menu is in English and Spanish and so are the waitstaff's language. They have cold to hot appetizers, salads, various shrimp entrees, breaded and fried entrees, quail, a variety of authentic Mexican entrees, soups, all kinds of fish and seafood, house specialties including my fav Huachinango de Marciscos. They also have lobster. Kids plates under 12 for $3.50 to $5.95. Lunch specials are available for $5.95 to $11.95 and also come with their special fried rice and yummy French fries. Beer and wine are available including Micheladas. We received a red and green sauce which were both fresh and authentic with chips while waiting for our food. I ordered the Parrillada de Marciscos which came with a whole fried catfish and the most tender, like butter, seafoods which were grilled octopus, squid, shrimp, scallops, and clams. This was served with their fried rice, French fries and toasted bread. This was an incredible meal except that the chef was a little heavy on the salt. My dining partner had the shrimp brochette, beef fajitas, a piece of fish, guacamole, rice beans and choice of tortillas. The refried beans were a bit oily but everything else was very good. My dining partner ordered a house margarita which I thought was too sweet. I personally would upgrade if possible. At 9 pm a disk jockey started playing in the back of the restaurant. They also have 2 TV's up front to watch a game. This place has only been open for a month and a half. It did take a while for our food to come out but not an excessive amount of time. I'll be back for sure!!!Yelp Review #315"

He loves gumbo more than anything so we started with that to share, which was excellent! I got the Red Fish as my meal, and he got fried shrimp. The Red Fish was delicious and large enough to take home half as the left overs. His fried shrimp were legit the best I have ever had. The batter was perfect and the seasoning was on point (I also stole some of his giant onion rings and hush puppies which were awesome). We will definitely be back to try more items. The customer service was amazing as there was one gentleman who basically took your order, ran your food out, and also waited/checked on you to make sure you had everything you needed. Overall, I was very impressed with this restaurant's quality and friendly service."
"Good Food & Good Specials Great Service, Ice is Snow ice the old ice. Fried catfish is good, Meatloaf is good, Chicken fried steak, Poorboy basket the best All of her Food always Worth the Trip at Carla's Snak Shak."
"The house sauce was good! We tried a lot of their food so here is the rating on each one:Gumbo = 4 Turkey necks = 3 (too salty)King crab = 5 (biggest one I've had) Scallops = 5 Shrimp skewer = 3 (only 4 shrimp a little overcooked)Crawfish tails = tasty sauce and great sauceThey played good music and it wasn't too loud. The service good too! I'll be coming back ^_^"
"I am shocked no one has reviewed this place yet! This place has been around for over 22 years and I have been eating here at least 17 years. This is truly a hidden gem hole in the wall. The Shrimp Galley is tiny and most people get their orders to go. Everything is cooked as it is ordered, no food sitting around here. Burgers, fried seafood, fountain drinks and the friendliest customer service. The same lady has worked the register forever...I can't even remember a time when she has not been there. She has gotten to know all the customers and always has a great attitude and smile.Surprisingly the prices manage to be affordable and the quality is great. The portions are big....each seafood order comes with toast (the old fashion kind with butter and grilled), salad and fries. I like that the seafood is fried with flour- not cornmeal. They serve the best cocktail sauce....not sure why or what makes it different but it is GOOD. I paid $13.99 total for shrimp basket & oyster & shrimp basket. Don't let the cheap prices fool you- the food makes my taste buds dance!I no longer live in the area but I do make it a point to stop by when I am around. Plenty of parking...support this local small business."
"This is where they filmed the movie Oston Powers. There are a lot of bad reviews for this place, and it gets a lot of hate and negativity, but I think that overall it's a nice Mexican seafood place, and while personally I didn't love my meal, I did like it, and I would definitely give it three stars for being a local business and being decent. However, I gave an extra star because some of the awful reviews just seem fake to me and it's definitely not bad enough to have such a low star rating. Also, it's beloved by many. It's really popular so somebody must like it. And I do, for one. Barbie as well."
"Wanted to try something new since i was in the area. Decided to go with the catfish etouffe and boudin balls. Both items were good but I'm pretty sure you can find something similar in a area closer to you. Overall was decent. Definitely give it a try if you're in the area."
"Love this place although I've had cheaper bowls of pho for the size I get here. The pho has enough flavor to where you don't have to add a tremendous amount of anything. It anyways taste fresh and I haven't had a bad experience. The staff are very polite."
"I can't wait to go back to visit Houston just for this restaurant! I am still dreaming of that fish. This is a must try restaurant!"
"Walk-ins are welcome. It cost $25. The band started performing at 8 pm so it wasn't worth coming at 7 pm as we did. There wasn't a bartender until probably 2 hours later. Otherwise you pick what's there and tell the guy how to make it. They didn't have a drink menu either.FOOD:It took forever for food to come out. Some folks got their plate before us when they came 30-40 minutes after we ordered. For instance, there was a lady who ordered and received her plate 5 minutes before we did but she arrived 15 minutes ago. Wtf?!!! So it appears that they have no order in which they bring out food. There also seemed to be only 1 waiter handling everyone, which was about 16 people.I ordered Bourbon St Blackened Salmon, which was $35. It came with crawfish and shrimp in a sauce on top, which the menu didn't say so. There were some bits that were a little bit too salty. But at least it wasn't dry at all due to the sauce. Very good flavor overall. For sides, I got mac and cheese and cajun green beans. Enjoyed the mac and cheese but the green beans wasn't what I expected. It had a sweet rather than savory taste. I was expecting it to be 'fresh' green beans and not canned. They gave us bottled water in the beginning but there was no mention of if it's included in the cover charge.Ratings:Bourbon St Blackened Salmon = 4/5Mac and cheese = 5/5Cajun green beans = 2/5 Overall, the band was decent. 2 guitarists, a keyboardist, a drummer, and 2 vocalists. The female vocalist had a very good voice. They wanted the crowd to participate but no one really did. They sang some familiar songs. Half the crowd left after they took a break. One thing to note is they charge a 18% gratuity, which was not mentioned on the menu or told to us beforehand."
"I had a great time with my family. Drinks were fantastic! The food was superb. I hadn't ever had a Cuban tamale but if this is what they taste like I love them. Our server was nice & attentive. No problems what's so ever. Don't hesitate to give it a try."

If you want some authentic Mexican seafood, this is your place! My family and I came here 3 different times last week. We had the same waitress all 3 times and she was very nice and helpful. They're willing to work with you on any adjustments to your order that you may need or want. I am positive we will be back at some point!

When it comes to fried seafood and gumbo, Louisiana Fish House is our favorite spot in Tomball! They do things just right, and their service is fantastic. Highly recommend!

My son has been begging for crabs so after reading some reviews I decided to dine here. My family of 5 arrived at 7pm on a Friday night and were seated immediately. There is music playing but not overly loud. Our waiter was very attentive and answered all of our questions about the menu. We started off with ordering the grilled oysters and calamari for appetizers. The oysters were delicious!! I didn't try the fried calamari but everyone said it was good. For entrees we got the shrimp po boy, whole catfish, Texan platter, and famous feast. The catfish had a strange taste, it definitely wasn't as good as the catfish I've had at other establishments. The shrimp po boy did not disappoint. The famous feast consisted of boiled shrimp, mussels, sausage, corn, potato, and snow crab. The sauce was a bit too salty for my liking but overall everything was pretty good.

This is a real hole in the wall place that serves great food. When I saw great I'm not talking about the fancy upscale type of food. I'm talking about the let me go fry some seafood in the kitchen home comfort type food. The prices are not too bad for a basket which includes fries and onions rings if you opt out of the salad. drinks are separate. If you craving fried seafood check this place out. It may not look up to par but the food is.

I didn't think the place was all that bad as most of the reviews on here. Being a resident of Spring Branch I've tried out most Mexican seafood places in the area. The food here was good on the times I've been. I didn't like the music level being so loud to a point I can barely hear the person talking next to me on a Sunday evening. Also, I do agree with the previous comment about overcharging on the receipt for drinks/food, but I didn't mind it as it was only a few bucks different than the menu.. overall it's a very popular and beloved place by many locals and I do appreciate that.

"So I came to Houston for 24 hours, I was on Almeda getting my hair braided. I needed something to eat before I headed back to Dallas. I had a hard time deciding on the chicken wings or fish. I thought the fish would be easy to eat while I drive so I ordered the fish and fries. Can I just tell you I was a little hesitant about having my fish dipped in a hot sauce, but this had to be the best DAMN catfish I have ever had. Point blank in my life, I had to pull over so I could look at this fish to figure out why was it so good. I also got the strawberry lemonade should've grabbed two. Let's just say it took me longer than I anticipated getting back to Dallas because of me pulling over to really concentrate on the fish. Hands-down can't wait to get back to the H make sure you stop by the food truck on Almeda."
"I ordered the Curry Chicken lunch special with consisted of: curry chicken, rice and peas, salad, two plantain slices, and a fried dumpling. It was delicioussss. Very welcoming atmosphere with the gospel music playing. I also ordered a sorrel drink. Not as ginger forward as I like, but still very good. I look forward to returning."
"Not gonna lie, this wasn't our first choice but it ended up being a great choice. My wife and I ended up here on our anniversary after killens steak house was closed due to lack of electricity during the wind storms. We splurged and ordered appetizers, "sushi" not raw, and the hibachi platter that serves two or more, it came with lobster tails, scallops, steak, shrimp, the whole shabang. Probably not usually nice enough for anniversary dinner, but don't regret it at all. I do recommend they dim the lights for dinner. Great service, great food, fair prices."
"Have had 2 great experiences here recently. The first one was Sebastian as our server and the most recent one was Aaliyah!! They are both amazing and wonderful at their jobs!! The food is always good. Small issue tonight, but 2 managers came by and couldn't of been nicer. We loved the desserts they brought. What a refreshing experience. Everyone is so nice here and the food is great too."
"This truck was 1 of the 3 that were outside of our building today. I had already tried one of the trucks previously, so I wanted to try something new. After taking a look at the menu, I saw this was sort of a Cajun/creole styled menu. I was surprised this business was on FB and Twitter, but not Yelp as of yet. The menu ranged from chicken tenders to wings to boudin balls. The boudin had me sold. They also offered a crawfish boudin ball. I opted in for the six wing combo, flavored with their specialty sauce as well as an all lemon pepper flavor. I told them I didn't want any fries but wanted to pay the difference for a boudin ball, but they didn't allow that. Gave me one extra wing instead of the two the lady who took my order said they would, but oh well we weren't going to eat that much anyway. My friend got the chicken tender special, tangy Asian or something of that nature. Flavor: the wings were excessively salty. & I am someone who usually complains of lack of seasoning. These were just so much! I couldn't really savor the flavor. I patted them down and was able to eat that way. They were pretty good! But my mouth was watering for the boudin ball, so I was disappointed. The boudin was just so flavorless! Now, this could be because my taste buds were ruined from the excessive salt on the wings, but I love boudin and was so disappointed I couldn't taste any of the flavor. As to my friend's food, when they gave us our food they told us they didn't have any tangy Asian so they put a cup of ranch in. Would have been good to be asked how they could accommodate the change in our order. None the less, we had already waited long enough for our food and it was cold so I just advised to let it be.The ladies operating the truck were very courteous and friendly. Kept a warm smile on their faces. Should this truck return, I do plan on giving it another go. I will update if my experience is any different! For now, all stars are given to friendliness. Due to excessive salt in one area, no flavor in another, & lack of offering customer accommodation, I have taken away two stars."
"Convenient location! Awesome food! (San Antonio is my favorite) Excellent service!! Reasonable prices!!! Thank You Los Reyes!!! See Y'all again soon."
"Primera vez que voy a la que está en el katy freeway y muy mala la comida. No lo recomiendo, no vuelvo a ir. Pedí camarones con mantequilla de ajo y todo el plato, hasta la ensalada tenía mantequilla, todo estaba grasiento."
"Sometimes when you're upon small towns such as Ganado, YELP and Open Table leads you to gems like this which may not look like much from the outside, but once you enter you're about to be amazed with a full stomach and a smile across your face.We had a team dinner here on a Thursday in mid April to unwind after a hard week's work in Ganado. Since Ganado is a bit short on quality eats, a team member suggested this place as he had been here before. Props to him for recognizing this spot as the food and drinks were excellent here. Since happy hour went until 7, we loaded up on some martinis including the lemon drop and the dirty bird. Those who ordered the lemon drop were buzzing about the flavor and sweetness as it reminded them of their younger days when we all loved any alcohol with sweetness. While I was tempted to give into the peer pressure and order the same, I went with the dirty bird martini to keep it simple. The blue-cheese stuffed olive was a nice touch to the drink since I love olives in my martini. Shaken, not stirred obviously. Each of us ordered entrees which had huge portions and tasty profiles. Deciding between the salmon and catfish supreme, I went with the salmon while the team member who knew this spot got the catfish supreme. While my salmon was delicious with the butter sauce and perfectly cooked veggies, I felt envious of his dish as the catfish looked fried to perfection with the smothered crawfish etoufee on top and rice pilaf/grilled veggie sides. I recall before we started eating, he mentioned he wished he had my salmon instead of his dish. But then we took our first few bites and realized we were happy with what we ordered. Another guy ordered the sliced steak sandwich which came with a dipping gravy; the bread of the sandwich had great texture and held the sandwich well. The other two members ordered the shrimp fettucini alfredo and the chicken primavera. The alfredo smelled amazing and the large char shrimp had us oo'ing and ahh'ing when the plate was placed in front of him. After eating, he mentioned he wishes his wife could make an alfredo like that; but we'll keep that secret between us. The chicken primavera had a melted jack cheese with veggies mixed in and a white wine sauce that was devoured. The guy who ordered it used to work in the restaurant industry and was very complimentary of the dish as something he would order again. We were happy and full after eating. Couldn't believe that a restaurant like this existed in El Campo. I would definitely go out of my way in Houston to drive all the way here to eat here again since the food and drinks were awesome and the atmosphere gave me a western saloon vibe with a modern feel. You can bet that the next time we have an assignment in Ganado or Victoria, we're gonna be back here eating and drinking our stresses away!"
"What can I say about Julio's? Well, for starters, I am not a huge fan of their food. I feel like I am the only person in the area that doesn't rave about their food. I have been a few times and have tried a few things on the menu. Out of all the things that I have tried, I think the taquitos are the best thing on the menu. My sister and her husband love this place, so I will be back... I'll just stick with the taquitos. The restaurant is nice and the service is always friendly, that is mostly why I am giving it three stars."
"Very nice inside . Plenty of screens to catch any games on . They have fried Boudin balls. I order so much food for 50 bucks . I ordered lo mein noodles, hot wings, fried fish. Egg roll. Table had so much food on it for only $50 not bad at all. Definitely be going back there . Very nice staff . They have sinks outside the restroom for faster access . They also sell crab boil, almost any kind of boils."
"I love Juicy Crawfish. My order usually consist of 2lbs of lemon pepper mild with three potatoes and two eggs. Recently I've been adding Beignets to my order. I also noticed gumbo on the menu . The more I order from Juicy, I try new entrees but I become a regular with crawfish every Sunday . The customer service is always pleasant. Even on crawfish off season, it's still good and Juicy. During their off season, I do remind them to allow my crawfish to soak in the seasoning. I've experienced one bad batch and immediately called them with my concern. I remembered it was not crawfish season. In other words, the crawfish was frozen . The manager empathized and gave me a new batch and it was still Juicy"
"I am all about the locally owned hidden gems and this is one of those old school roadhouse joints that you need praise them, Joe Camel. An unassuming single story aged strip mall next to the dialysis centre (get out your Juul and bear with me) walking into this local hot spot dotting the highway is like walking back into time when life was simpler, waitresses were receptive to being called darling and/or sweetheart, and a lunch beer was $4 a pop. Wait. One of those things seems amiss in 2k19.Roadside diners along the lines of places that Dean Winchester would visit for non-pie dishes always include fried things, and fried things that are delicious. It is not always a perfect circle; sometimes being a venn diagram between the two. However, HS&S makes their casual dining fare the perfect circle where fried foods came to town just to be delicious in the service of the big man downstairs, or upstairs, as suits your preferences - we don't judge here. Which is what brought me here. A recommendation for the finest fried seafood in six counties. And I was already in my windproof Harley jacket on a rainy cold day for other reasons so I didn't need to throw on less conspicuous outerwear to dine at a place like this so it was all aces from start to finish. They have lunch specials which include two sides - freedom fries as your standard one spot option, and your second spot option a choice between a house salad (limited dressings available) or coleslaw. Yo homey, do the salad so much. Even with the limited dressing choices it is far superior to the coleslaw. In fact, the coleslaw is the one and only thing you could ding this joint points on at all ... besides the byzantine mess they created with the condiment squeezy tubes on the fried food orders, which still is giving me the vapours about those devilish shenanigans and requires its own attention in a separate paragraph.Roadside diners have few rules throughout the legerdemain of Americana, where food that was good and hot rewarded a hard workin' man.1. Bikers are welcome, even in a cut with colours;2. If in a fist fight you get blood on someone else's food you need to buy them a new basket AND say you are sorry because that hot zima soup got the best of you; and 3. Condiments come in coloured squeezy tubes so even if #u #is #illiterate you know what is what based on sight alone rather than those multisyllabic queer French things fancier places stamp onto their tubes with a labelmaker. This is a standard American thing about how the colours go: Ketchup is in the red tube, hence the red. Mustard is in the yellow tube, hence the heckin' but still mellow yellow. And mayo is in white because of stereotypes. You know what I am talking about, white bread and all of that. This joint instead likes to fuck with you real nice though and you won't see it coming unless you read Uncle Daniel's yelp review right here. Ketchup is in the red squeezy tube, real nice to lure you into thinking they follow the normal rules of the road that have applied to #merica since Grande Papito Ben Franklin. Just after you get real cozy with that they get you with the one-two punch of tartar sauce in the white tube and cocktail sauce in the yellow. Exsqueeze me, baking soda? No hon. This aggression will not stand, these colours do not run.Motion to put mustard in the gat dang yellow tube so you can put mustard on your fries. Sure, I would look real out of place if I expected poutine fries here and ordered in French real arrogant like. But mustard? This is mustard country, population Yoü and I. People around here squirt mustard all over their wieners at 4 July cookouts in their backyards and similar patriotic events out in public like mattress sales. But instead these fries right here have cocktail sauce all over them, from a yellow tube, rather than mustard as the good lord below expected because that is how things have worked for hundreds of years among civilized peoples just trying to eat their freedom fries in peace.Condiment disaster aside, the fried food is delicious and the waitresses (for some reason we had three working our table for a few daydrinking beers and a lot of fried food?) were great. Except at the very end the third came by to collect our condiment squeeze tubes to pass them on to the next table and she was too busy she didn't look like she had time for "the talk" about colour coding mustard to yellow, and how everything else are filthy lies for others and their freedom fries. I guess this place needs more squeezy tubes since tables have to share; and get the right colours for what you are putting in them!Fried foods are unbelievable right here. But bring home-mustard (or work-mustard if that is where you are stashing the good stuff) if you want mustard on your freedom fries cuz they ain't got none, and cocktail sauce will not do on those bad boys. It is mustard and fries, not cocktail sauce and fries according to the bible."
"I ordered the 1 fish (trout), and 3 shrimp. Food is very good. Place is not the best looking place but the food makes up for it."
"Best Cajun fried rice you'll find in the area. Rice is so flavorful the shrimp are huge packed with spice. Only downside would be the crowd of men in-front of the liquor store next door can be very unwelcoming. I suggest calling in your order will be back though."
"Will do a better review. Really good size menu. Very casual. Haven't been in years."
"Absolutely disgusting. Never knew you could mess up shrimp fried rice until we tried this place. Literally everything was disgusting. Shrimp fried rice 0/5Shrimp and broccoli 0/5Wings -5 disgusting Onion rings 0/5Egg rolls 0/5"
"The food is excellent. Great house salad full of veggies, including artichoke hearts. Best fried calamari I've found and Marinara is wonderful. Been here quite a few times and worth coming back. Steak, pastas, calzone, manicotti, paninis, ... Be sure to visit when you're near Eagle Lake, Sealy, Columbus."
"We came here for a nice dinner for work and got to sit in a private dining area with closed doors! The ambiance of the restaurant upon entering was beautiful, light and bustling with staff and customers! Greeted promptly by the hostess and whisked away to our private dining. Entering into the private area there was quite beautiful decor and familesque style of dining around a large table! The staff were absolutely phenomenal throughly all the courses of the meal. The great thing I enjoyed most is that there was a preset menu that was printed and placed in in front of us. But they would still allow you to order from the full menu if you'd like. We were served white and red wine, and had a full four course meal with appetizers, calamari and flat bread (both amazing!). Second course was a house salad or Caesar, I got the Caesar and it was delicious! For the third course I got a steak with a spicy hollandaise sauce and asparagus and IT WAS AMAZING! Just enough heat and the asparagus cooked to perfection. Sides were served family style which was perfect so you could try a bit of everything. Lastly, fourth course finished off with Nutella cheesecake with an Oreo crust which I wish would've been my first course! So so good! This place was truly a great first experience and I look forward to coming back for more!"
"This place doesn't look like much from the outside. The inside isn't fancy. Don't let the looks and aesthetics fool you. The food is GOOD! The portions are generous. I was in town visiting with friends. We were headed to Kemah Boardwalk but decided we needed lunch first. This place is counter service, so we were able to place our order and find seating for our group of 7. Food came out hot and fast. My son had the chicken tenders. I had to break them up because they were hot, and you could see the steam coming out. The blackened fish and shrimp were tasty, with just enough spice to give it a kick. The rice and green beans were a complimentary side. When we come back into town, we will definitely go back."
