This place is the epitome of a hole in the wall. I drove by it for almost a year without even knowing it was there. Just my luck to discover it when I no longer work in the area. I really enjoy the elote here. It's a wonderful combination of corn, mayo, queso blanco, and chile powder. Ohhhh the chile is best! Ulcer and heartburn be damned. I could eat the elote every day and I pretty much did one week. I always order that and the Mexican coke. Other things are pretty good here too like the flautas ans quesadillas, but the tacos were a bit on the salty side. It's not a fancy place, but it does have a few booths inside and a picnic table outside. It's right next to the car place in a trailer kind of. It's very easy to miss and if it weren't for the other reviews here I wouldn't have found it. The guy who works here is nice and the food is good.

I had the steak taco, chicken taco, tosta, elote and horchata. The elote was the best elote I have ever had and I have tried a lot of them. The steak and chicken taco were amazing. The green sauce was great! Horchata was very good as well. The tosta was okay.. I'm not really a fan of dark meat chicken so that took away from the tosta for me personally. Overall, it's a great taco stand and I'm so glad I found it!

This place is BEHIND La Strada Motors. I always park near the entrance but some days it's hard to determine just exactly where the car lot ends and this place begins. Also, the sign says "snowcones" not Refrequeria Y Taqueria Las Palmas. Anyway, the raspas are wonderful, as are the elotes, as other yelpers have noted. The tortas aren't bad either, but I haven't tried much else. Oh, and Mexican Cokes!

Great and cheap little place to stop by! The elote is easily one of the best I've had. I also had a mangonada, and it was delicious, the sizes are quite large too. However, the tacos really lack flavor and just a tad more expensive than other street tacos. The service and vibe of the whole place is immaculate however. Will be going here anytime I crave elote or mangonadas.

The bright red, yellow, blue, and white colors of this neat taqueria help it stand out next to a colorful car dealership. Right on Bissonnet, this place has delicious, cheap food at fast service but this sure is better than fast food quality. This is not a "hole in the wall", which is what some people use as code word for "it's shabby but cheap and delicious." In fact, this place IS cheap and delicious, but it's not actually hidden away or "dirty." With that said, we tried the carne asada tacos con lettuce, lime juice, and avocado. It was simple but amazing. The meat was juicy and very well marinated, and the salsa verde was superb, you get a whole bottle of it to yourself. There are booths inside and there are some group-friendly tables outside as well. The atmosphere is casual, it is a place great for eating at all times of the day, midday snack, lunch, dinner, late night snack, you name it! The best part other than the food is the aguas naturales. It's notoriously hot in Houston in the summer, and the papaya agua we got was the perfect cure. It tasted like papayas freshly and finely blended with ice, nothing like fruit powder drinks!

This is my go to place for elotes, raspas, tacos gorditas, and refreshing limonadas. Everything has been very tasty. The beans in the gorditas are seasoned well and actually add a dimension of flavor rather than just serving as food glue to keep things in place. The elote is served en vaso, with white melty cheese, mayo, lime and red powdered chile. I could eat that everyday. In the summer, I love to get a stawberry raspa with chamoy. Chamoy makes anything fruity better. The place may not look like much, but the food more than satisfies your Mexican street food type cravings.
