I've had take out and eaten here for dinner before. I'm back for lunch! The lunch is quite reasonably priced. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken without peanuts or vegetables, fried rice, egg roll, and egg drop soup - after tax, it came to $9.45 TOTAL! Wow!The egg drop soup has no corn - THANK YOU! Probably one of the few places in town that DOESN'T put corn in their egg drop soup. So, Thank You, for that. The soup is always hot, which is great. I also appreciate that the soup is always hot.The fried rice has a smoky flavor to it, and the lunch plate comes with an egg roll. They have sweet & sour sauce and hot mustard on the table. My Kung Pao Chicken came with a lot of chicken and a lot of sauce - perfect for mixing with the rice. My favorite meal is probably the lunch, since the portion is smaller and the price is more inexpensive.The food was hot & fresh, the waitress was attentive and I always had a full glass of iced tea. It looks as though I've found my NEW favorite Chinese food restaurant!

I love Happy Lamp!! The service is awesome and the food is excellent!! I particularly like the volcano shrimp and general tso's chicken, but I have not had a bad meal there!! You won't regret going there!!

Great old school Chinese food. Feels like you've walked into 1982 but the food is really good and portions are awesome. Neighborhood staple.

Great place for Chinese/American and their lunch specials are right on! When I am off of work I like to come here for lunch because the price, decent food and you're in and out quickly. The wait staff is extremely attentive. Every time it here I see more people ordering food to go then actually dining in. The place is a bit dated, but hey - isn't the area? (I can say that I live here). I always order the beef with broccoli. It's always very good. Their hot and sour soup is good as well. If you order soft drinks remember they come by the can. I always just get water.This place has been here for years so they must be doing something right? Not opened on Christmas. Say whaaaaa?!!!!!

I went here only by the reviews I read. Then once I decided to go I realize it was in my neighborhood and I was glad about that cause I am new to Houston and I hadn't had any Chinese food since I left home. I was hoping it was delicious and some of it was. I got sesame seed, chicken with brown rice and crab puff. The Sesame Chicken was delicious the fried rice was ok and the Egg Rolls was delicious and the sweet and sour sauce was delicious but the crab puff was just warm cream cheese no crab.Egg Rolls,Crab Rangoon,House Fried Rice,Sesame Chicken.

It's been a while since we'd visited. These meals were both very good, 5 stars. My wife loved the moo goo gai pan family dinner which came with soup, we both chose wonton...it also came with a bowl of crunchies which we don't need but like a lot. A choice of fried or steamed rice, we went with steamed, and an she got some crab puffs, I went with a fried eggroll. We also enjoyed a small sampler plate wit' pork ribs, egg rolls and fried wontons. I had my fave General Tso's chicken, really tasty. Both were family dinners and they were excellent....we'll be back.

Good food, good service, expectations for a Chinese takeout place were met.You can eat a lunch combo there for about $10

This was a to-go order. I ordered Chow Mein. It was the worst ever, weird flavoring and super bland There was a side order of the most unappetizing vegetables I ever had. There was also a side of white rice, that I didn't think an Asian restaurant could ever mess up. Boy was I wrong. It is rare for me to not like my food, but this was the exception. Won't be going back anytime soon.

Great food Servis is good Been eating here for years . My favorite dish is General Joe's chicken chicken, lo mein And special lo mein is my favorite

Hole in the wall type place. Food is alright. Not very flavorful. The food was hot and fresh. Service is great! Server was nice and prompt. One thing that I give 5 stars is the the house special egg foo young.
