Gringo's Mexican Kitchen

This is the Cypresswood and Stuebner Airline location. The establishment was clean and restaurant always appears clean whenever I visit. The service is really dependent on your waitress. It's been hit and miss for me. The beef nachos are always good along with the drinks. I'm definitely a regular. This location is also a lot smaller than some of the other locations that I have visited. It also has a more cozy vibe. I'm Definitely a regular.

Update 12-11-2023 I'm a man of second chances and with that being said, so I decided to dine in at Gringos to try the Pollo El Dorado!OMG that dish was outstanding!! My order was accurately taken by Romeo which provided marvelous customer service!The chicken was very tender and the chipotle cream sauce stunning! I hate that this is only on their menu for a short time (leaves on 12/31/2023)I will be visiting them again before this dish leaves!Pollo El Dorado consists of Chipotle cream sauce sautéed with sausage, spinach, mushrooms & avocado, atop a grilled chicken breast - served with pico de gallo

Would return 2 o'clock on Friday (happy hour is from 2-5) Willy was our server- he was very good. We both order the sampler ($18) It comes with 2 chicken quesadillas slices (good, seasoned) 2 steak fajita nachos 2 taquitos 2 southwest egg rolls cut in 1/2 (4 pieces) I wouldn't have to have the sampler again, but it was good. We had the queso loco ($13) I wouldn't have to have to have it again, but if the table ordered, that would be fine. The caddy margarita frozen is better than on the rocs (stronger). I had both. They were $6.88 on Happy Hour. Strawberry sparkler with Prosecco ($15-17 range). It's good, as well. Guacamole HITS - and the green sauce they bring that may be also guacamole based. The salsa was good as well.

Hands down one of my favorite go to's for Tex Mex. From cheese or chicken enchiladas, fajitas, chicken tortilla soup, quesadillas, or nachos this is a great place for Mexican. Of course it won't come close to authentic but it definitely hits the spot and they are consistent so you can count on it being the same every time!

Gringo's has been a staple in this community for years but as a Mexican restaurant that went from offering a plethora of different types of tequilas to now offering around three or four types is truly disappointing. If you're a margarita drinker that likes tequilas with hints of vanilla and caramel sweet notes then come thru! You'll be satisfied here. Two years ago I could order a margarita with herradura reposado but not now. No 1942 or any premium tequila so please don't say you're a Mexican restaurant because clearly you are but one that cut cost at the bar. I had two margaritas. One made with Hornitos and the other Exotico both bland tequilas sweet azz tequilas. I mean just horrible (in my opinion). Yes, I finished both because duh...they weren't free. Once more, is that ALL of their tequila offerings looks like a list from the tequila dollar store for folks that are new to margaritas. A total disappointment to any real margarita drinker frequently a Mexican restaurant. Who in the world would want a sweet margarita? Ugh.... That said, the green and red sauce Never disappoints. Brezzy and the other bartender was very nice. HIRO, is the Man Tho.

I guess the biggest mistake I made was ordering at a time when my pick up time (3:54pm) was close to a shift change. My order was a Zapata dinner and queso. The biggest disappointment was the boracho beans. It was more like a soup where I struggled to even find beans. I think it had 5-6. The container was less than 1/2 full to begin with...What a joke. While I understand with inflation the prices have gone up, I don't think I would pay another $26.35 for this meal again. It wasn't worth driving for. Giving 2 bags of chips doesn't fool me.

This restaurant has lots of comfortable seating that's spacious too. I love the layout which makes you feel like you're at a private table, plus a quiet experience. You're not yelling over the crowds and/or music. It really is a great experience eating here. Our waiters and waitresses are always efficient and kind. The food is incredible. The fajitas and tacos are delicious and the tortilla soup is very unique and yummy. The chips are salty perfectly and brought out fresh and warm. I love the Amazon green sauce here too.

Price for sure needs to be adjusted....food is okay, but definitely not for the price...............

Took 5 of our retired friends and they loved the food fajitas , shrimp enchiladas , marisco, taquitos , cheese enchiladas . The best refried beans and hot flour tortillas . I have dined at thousands of Mexican Restaurants in this country and Gringos is the best .This location awesomeOur server Brandi was excellent

Another great visit with awesome food, great service and a friendly ambiance! Always worth a visit!
