This pie is pretty solid when it comes to Houston options, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to get it again in comparison to House of Pies. Parking is easy and there's a lot next door. They sell a bunch of different pies. The employee recommended the blueberry, so we got a slice of that and a slice of peach pie. The pies were crusty and had a lot of filling. Blueberry was a little bit too jammy and sweet, but the peach was delicious!

Stopped by on pi day to get a couple slices. We got 1 chocolate and 1 banana for $8 total. The slices are big. They taste really good, I want to try more flavors! The services was quick. Will be back!

$20 for a pumpkin pie , bragging to your family about these pies and then opening it to find mold = pricelessI had been looking forward to showing off these out of the world pies to my family. Just my 2nd year buying them because of the loyal following it has. But man oh man so disappointed. I bought the pie Monday afternoon 11/20 and tried opening up the box for a slice Thanksgiving lunch. This is what I found.I looked on their website under FAQ and did not find anything about pumpkin pie flavor :/ nor did they tell me in store anything about recommendation on refrigerator or not. I tried to call the store too but they had already closed the lines since they sold out of pies. I'll never know if they gave me a warm pie in a box and closed the lid or if I was suppose to refrigerate. All I know is there another pie company in town (popular too) and I've never had problems with them (like not refrigerated them) . Back to House of Pies I go! Pretty bummed about it but really more embarrassed. Looking for a refund at a minimum.

Banana cream $3.75/slice - decent pie. It just needed to be sweeter. The crust was very good and crispy. It was full of bananas, but the filling just wasn't sweet enough. I felt like i was eating just a pie crust with bananas. Their whipped cream is also not sweet, although there is a lot of it. Strawberry cheesecake $3.75/slice - definitely the better of the 2. The cheesecake was good without being too rich. Crust was good. Strawberry topping was good, but I didn't get any actual strawberry pieces.Whole pies are $18-20.If they were out of strawberry cheesecake, I would've tried the strawberry cream since I think that's what they're known for. Alternatives wouldve been chocolate cream, pecan pie, or coconut cream.Overall, not bad for trying, but honestly probably won't be back just because there are other dessert places I want to try while living near the Heights.

Flying Saucer is a staple of my neighborhood, on the Northside of Houston you can find the most delightful pies you've ever encountered. Everything is super fresh! Staff is kind and helpful, my favorite menu item here is the STRAWBERRY PIE! A beautiful pie! Just beautiful inside & out the sweetest, tart, jumbo sized fresh strawberries in every bite!

I finally stopped by after having had this place on my try list for years. Came by on a random Wednesday afternoon and there was no line with plenty of selection to choose from. I am a big fruit pie fan so I opted to try several of those flavors plus a slice of their Key Lime pie. I think the Key Lime/mousse or custard based pies is where they shine. The fruit ones I tried, while tasty, had less fruit than I would have wanted to have in a slice and more sweet goo. I can imagine that their pumpkin or pecan pies would be a big hit at Fall gatherings. True rating would probably be a 3.5, but I will round up to 4 as there is more of their menu that I need to try.

We wandered in because we love pie! The kooky name was just a bonus. How can anyone resist a place with "pie" and "flying saucer" in the name outside. If you like pie you will not be disappointed. We got a Dutch apple and the pie was fabulous! I also enjoyed a slice of key lime pie. Just for comparison purposes, it is a personal favorite of mine.I am shocked to report that I liked the key lime pie, but I liked the Dutch Apple even better! The counter service was fast and friendly. The ambiance is that of a working bakery, so don't imagine you will be enjoying your pie on site.Go early for your holiday pie. They say the line is outrageous!

Today is Pi Day and the first place that I think of for pies is the Flying Sauce Pie Company. I bought several pies to sample and share. They even cut the pies into either six or eight pieces upon request.Starting with the fruit pies seemed like a reasonable substitute for lunch and I was right. The crust on the apple pie was flaky and the filling was flavorful with notes of mildly sweet caramel. The cherry pie crust was flaky and the filling was tart and mildly sweet.I finished my tour-de-pies with a couple of cream pies. The coconut cream pie was solid. I enjoyed the flavor and was pleased that it was not overpowering sweet. The strawberry cream pie, on the other hand, over-the-top sweet and refreshing. It's easy to see why the strawberry cream pie is their number one seller.

We grabbed a couple of slices because our daughter wanted some pie on her birthday. We were pretty disappointed...after looking at a variety, none looked great so I went with chocolate (special request) and lemon (because my daughter has been loving lemonade). Very disappointed. It's basically a grocery store crust, pudding type filling, and a massive amount of cool whip on top. Very simplistic and not very tasty. Some may appreciate it, but after having an excellent chocolate cress pie in Fort Worth last weekend (at the same price point), this was a massive step back. Sadly, we will be looking elsewhere for a quality pie in the area.
