Surprisingly, there was no wait on a Saturday afternoon. The staff were very friendly! I felt very well taken care of. I got my orders in a timely and understandable manner. After tasting the food, I'm willing to wait for it. I got the pork wontons in chili sauce first. The wontons were small but thinking about the price for the quality, I say it's reasonable. The wontons were cooked perfectly. The wrappers along with the pork fillings went down my throat so smooth and it was quite juicy. The Xiaolongbao looked as if it was cooked by order which was what I usually prefer. The wrappers for these were consistent in texture and a solid thickness. Each one had an excellent amount of broth as well as pork filling. The broth was very tasty and hot. As I lifted the dumplings, the bottom was not soggy or stuck to the paper. The minced ginger went very well with it. The beef pancake roll was very interesting because it was probably my first time trying beef like how they made it. Some parts were tender but it reminded me of beef jerky as I ate it. I loved the pancake part, though: crispy fried. There were plenty of space inside the restaurant but it's unfortunate that parking spaces were limited to them. The Togo box and bag was pretty!

Wow great place to hit if you're craving Chinese! All the plates are super solid and definitely worth if you don't want to go all the way to Chinatown! Interior is really pretty and clean and they have great soup dumplings! I thought the pork was better but surprisingly some of my friends said the chicken was better! Both were at least a 7/10 if not more though!

I've been seeing dough zone all over my instagram, so I took it as a sign to mark it on my calendar to pay a visit with my friend, who is also a dumpling lover. There was a good amount of parking around the building, but i can definitely see it filling up quickly during the busy hours so do keep that in mind! As soon as i walked in, i was blown away by the interior!!! Lots of natural lighting & cool decor. Also very clean & neat. The pork wontons with chili sauce were my absolute favorite. They just melted in my mouth, and they were bursting with so much flavor. Loved the chewy texture of the noodles, and I was a huge fan of the beef stew noodles. Super hearty broth, and the meat was extremely tender. The Dan Dan noodles were okay; they had a nice kick to it and left a numbing sensation on my tongue after each bite. The soup dumplings were fresh and hot, and the pan fried dumplings were delicious, although they were just a tad bit on the saltier side, as were some of the other dishes. The baos were alright, I'd probably opt for something else next time. Service was average. Our waiter was nice, but I feel like we barely saw him throughout our dinner. Our food did come out relatively quickly, and my friend and I just went hammmnmm. The ordering process was simple, as you just write the quantity of items you want to the side and hand it to the server. I will say that the portions are kind of small, so you'd probably have to order a bunch of dishes to walk out of there full and satisfied. My friend and I shared all the dishes and split the bill, which came out to around $32 each.

Passed here a couple times. Decided to finally check it out. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. It was nice you could be added to the waitlist via yelp. The server was okay. He wasn't very explanatory when we mentioned it being our first time. I'd like a bit more. Instead he said write the number. Didn't mention anything about drinksThe food came out about one things at a time which was nice to pace yourself. The spicy noodles were great. It was all nice to try something from the majority of the sections. The soup dumplings were my favorite. The x bao were fluffy and super fast. They apparently make all of the items in house according to the one girl. With the cost being where it is, it was affordable and easy to try new things. This is a quick spot. Not romantic.

Came here on a Tuesday night around 7, hoping to get some xiao long bao. Its a pretty large seating area and kept clean. Staff was all nice and no complaints about service. They unfortunately ran out of pork and chicken clb and only had 2 orders of the pork+crab version and my partner thinks he's allergic to crab so we didn't get a chance to try it. What we did try was all quite a let down. We got the sweet and sour cucumbers, which were an interesting presentation but nothing special. We also got the sour and spicy wontons, steamed vegetable dumplings, and fried beef cakes. All were very underwhelming, portion and flavorwise. Everything was very underseasoned and bland to me, even adding chili oil barely did anything. The beef cakes were supposed to be a house special but the dough was so thick and hard that it just didn't come out well at all.I think the only positives were the staff and nice layout/ambiance of the restaurant. Otherwise, I doubt I'd come back unless there's major changes to the recipes.

Similar to my review of Wanna Bao, Dough Zone is decent given the options of dumplings/Chinese food in the Midtown area, but doesn't quite compete when compared to Chinatown.+ Decent prices, at least for the area+ Variety of food to choose from: dumplings, baos, noodles, and more+ Pan fried dumplings are tasty and comes with the lace/skirt (IG-worthy)+ Easy parking+ Food comes quick- XLB (xiao long bao) is not particularly hot, perhaps not to catch the yuppies offguard.- Q-baos (pan fried) were under-fried. I mean, that's the whole point of getting pan-fried baos?- Beef stew noodle soup is honestly just sad, 1 piece of lettuce, under-stewed beef, not particularly flavorful.- Cheaper and better in Chinatown.

Great food at a great price. The steamed veggie dumplings and shrimp/zucchini dumplings were the bomb y'all. Place was renovated and clean. Service was on point too. Would give Din tai fung a run for its money.

Dough Zone is originally from Seattle and I am so glad they finally came to Houston! The place is spacious with warm and welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted immediately and shown to our table. You can also order from the self ordering machines as well.Their dumplings are super tasty and fresh. The dough is surprisingly good, not too powdery iykwim. I love their wonton in chili sauce. Those hit home for me! Each dish costs around $6-$10 which is super affordable. They also offer boba but I haven't got to try them yet cuz we were full afterwards.Overall, not bad at all! We will def be back to try other items on their menu.
