I was looking for my first experience with the Crawfish boil of the season and tried this pop-up at Tikilas. My friends and I ordered the boil platter, and it was just ok. I would've enjoyed kore garlic and spice to it rather than just lots of butter. The staff was great, though super friendly. The vibe was cool because of where the location was associated. I would like to return and maybe try something else!

Hot and buttered was a great experience. Even though they don't have a permanent location the quality of the crawfish and mussels were amazing. Prepared to get a little down and dirty. Tekilas makes a great margarita and the atmosphere was fun.

I'm a big foodie, so I've tried a lot or crawfish places and this is definitely top 3 in Houston for me. Flavor is on point for my personal taste. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a good seafood boil place in houston and this was one of the more reasonably priced spots so I gave it a try. It's not a full on restaurant in that you can't sit and eat inside but there are two outdoor sections attached to the bar next door (tikilas) where you can enjoy your food. Wish I had taken a pic of the menu but most of the options were $15 or less I believe. We got a pound of shrimp (automatically head off) and a cluster of snow crab legs ($15 each). You have to order corn ($1.50 each) and potatoes ($0.50 each) separately so our order came out to about $40. We got it hot and buttered with the spicy spice level. It took just a few minutes to be ready and boy was it GOOD. The shrimp were very big and they were deveined. The crab had 5 legs and the claw was pre cut for ease of eating. This was just enough food for two ppl to walk away satisfied. The spice level was good to be able to enjoy the whole thing without your moth on fire. There is a water station from the bar next door available in the back patio as well as a jenga set. Would recommend!PS: they have a small lot to park in and I believe they do to go orders. They also give gloves, napkins, and a container for shells

GREAT prices and staff is SO friendly. The hot and buttered cajun sauce was good but I felt like there could be more depth & savory-ness to it, thus the one star off. I do think its the most well priced cajun seafood places in houston though. They have picnic tables you can sit at. Its kind of like a stand/food truck kind of set up. Although they also have a kitchen as well. Hard to explain but it's not a brick and mortar. Alot of people will take to go

Hot and Buttered is a popup vendor that serves its boiled seafood stuffs outside a Bohemian type bar called Tikilas. We discovered Hot and Buttered because of it being listed on Yelp in summer 2022 among the top 10 crawfish joints in Houston. That time we went with their Cajun flavor despite the name almost insisting we get the "hot n buttered" version. We rated it at the top of all our compared other spots for both flavor and spice level! We've since returned and gotten other items (snow crab) and Hot & Buttered continues to impress. Shout out to Tikilas also as it sets a wonderful scene for noshing on boiled seafood while sipping a libation and taking in the scenery.

Service: 10/0! Very attentive and answered all of our questions. Food: 9/10 Crawfish special 5lbs/$40-- 10/10, Hot n Buttered, truly enjoyed this flavor! It was different but I'll def be back. Quail eggs-- 5/10; very different type of egg lololol not bad though but I wouldn't order it again. Corn: 12/10! Probably the best boiled corn I've had outside of my home! Soft but not mushy and full of flavor.Ambiance: it's on the outskirts of the bar Tikilas, and the place was super cute! They have swing seating, bar seating & another covered area.

Delicious crawfish! Great price. We got 5lbs for $40. The crawfish were so juicy and had a good spice. If you want additional seasoning, they have some available. They were at Tikilas this last Sunday. I'm not sure if they're always there on Sundays, but you can follow them on ig for info.

Only giving it 2 stars because they were good size and my friend was able to get some juicy claw meat out of them. Other than that, the main take away: SUPER BLAND, very salty and 100 % not worth it. I LOVE crawfish and had just heard about this place from "Eat like a Local." Never been to this bar even though I've passed it 100x; will come back to the bar for good drinks but never for crawfish. We came on a Sunday with no line. Ordered the 5 pounds for $45 (selling for $11 per pound ) with their signature hot and buttered flavor, medium level spicy. TERRIBLE! We ate less than half and stopped eating, even offered it to the bartenders and workers . So disappointing, where are all these 4-5 star reviews coming from?

Love this spot! We were looking for a great crawfish boil and found this popup! Things are made fresh and there are so many ways you can enjoy your boil!We opted to build ours since the there was just two of us! We got two clusters of snow crab legs, two pounds of live crawfish, some mussels, corn and sausage. We got spicy butter to flavor it all!It didn't take too long, and I think we were the first ones to arrive. We did grab some margaritas from Tikilas, which they share some space with. It was perfect! We had a few sips and then watched as they boiled the goods. Such a fun atmosphere! The boil was delicious and spicy! The crawfish were decently sized which I think was normal for the time in season. Definitely a great, casual spot for some tasty food!We also loved that they shared the space with Tikilas. The atmosphere was fun but still casual, and being able to eat anywhere between the two spots was pretty cool!Keep and eye on their Instagram for hours each week and fun specials they're running (they were doing steak night when we were there)! A must try!
