I give Hattie B's Hot Chicken in West Midtown a solid 5 stars. The food and service were good. If you've never had Hattie B's before, it's definitely worth trying. I come here often for lunch. The chicken has the perfect seasonings and is always moist. The fries are delicious and crispy. You can't go wrong with any choice.

Nowwwwww I'm going to start with the desserts... I'm not sure if this is what happens when things are Gluten free or made in the form of the healthy version but something didn't seem right. The Banana Pudding had the overall look but what I'm used to as vanilla or banana flavored pudding was more like a translucent custard than dense pudding texture. It gave banana flavor but the texture threw my taste buds off. Same with the Peach Cobbler, the crust gave me Raisin Bran flavor, heavy on the cinnamon whereas I'm used to a flaky crust that's plain in flavor and stays crusty in the liquid filling. This crust was being absorbed by the filling (soft texture) which was dark in color not allowing me to see the peaches (too much cinnamon) compared to what I'm used to seeing the peaches in clear translucent filling. At $4.50 a pop I was definitely disappointed in wasting money. Walking in gave me lunchroom vibes... Open seating, order upon walking in, food brought to your table and retrieve your own soft drinks at your discretion. The cashier was taking orders and making liquor "drinks"... my hats off to her and she did it all with the warmest smile . We went with the Half Bird meal in Mild; Pimento Mac & Cheese; Collard greens for the sides also an order of waffles. The Watermelon margarita (wanted to do the Frozen Lemonade with Taquilla but the machine was out of lemonade); The Watermelon Margarita was an excellent and cheaper alternative. We also ordered Peach Cobbler & Banana Pudding for dessert. The Half Bird was excellent for us to share, the mild has a light kick to it so if you don't want spice at all go with the southern style. From the dark to the white meat everything was tender, crispy and juicy. The waffle was definitely a sweet touch to the chicken. The Pimento Mac & Cheese was really good. If your looking for "baked" mac & cheese that's not what your getting here, more of an adult creamy stovetop mac & cheese which was good . The Collared Greens were delicious; just a little bit of sugar to balance out the pork flavor would have made them perfect just like my own. Will definitely be back to try the tenders and the chicken sandwich.

Hattie B's was one of my most anticipated eateries down here in Atlanta prior to me moving here and WOW did it live up to the hype. I was tried an assortment of fried chicken dishes like the dark plate, the fried sandwich, and the tenders and I'm impressed at how they all can stand on their own. I'm not the biggest "heat guy" when it comes to food so I opted for the medium spice on my tenders and thought everything was going well until the heat snuck up on me like a methodical assassin. It burned so good. The fries are delicious and crispy. The pimento mac and cheese is the item I'm most of the fence about. Some bites were more enjoyable than others but there definitely is a strange slimy texture on the noodles that I didn't find very welcoming, but the flavor of the mac is certainly there. It's simple and standard for similar styled chicken spots, but the pickle is a really nice addition to the plate. I ordered a waffle for the heck of it and thought it was really good. It's more like those mini Belgian waffles that have a crunch to them, not your Sunday morning waffles you can get a diner. Arguably my favorite dish of the meal was dessert--that peach cobbler is magnificent. It's got sweet, syrupy peaches and a crust that gives it a nice contrast in texture.Obviously I will be back.

I give Hattie B's Hot Chicken in West Midtown a solid four stars. The food and service were good. If you've never had Hattie B's before, it's definitely worth trying. 'Nuff said. If you want details, keep reading. For those unfamiliar, Hattie B's is a popular Nashville hot chicken chain from Nashville, Tennessee. Hot chicken is spicy fried chicken. At the time of writing this, there are two Hattie B's locations in Atlanta: (1) this one in Westside which opened on August 3, 2022 and (2) the original ATL location on Moreland Ave on the east side, which opened in July 2018: https://bit.ly/3UZWjNYIn addition to this location, I've been to the Atlanta East location and one of the five Nashville locations (Melrose): https://bit.ly/49BPc2SThe biggest difference between this location and the other locations I've visited was the restaurant was mostly empty when I arrived. There were only two people ahead of me in line. I showed up on a Monday at 6:07pm. The restaurant got busier over the next couple hours, but it never got crowded. A long line never built up that I saw. Before we left around 8:15pm, we reentered the line to order dessert and again, there were only a couple folks in front of us.I came here for the Damon Stoudamire Coach's Show (Georgia Tech men's basketball head coach). I forgot this Hattie B's had opened until I saw the posts on X (Twitter), from Georgia Tech, advertising this show being held at Hattie B's in West Midtown. So, the partnership between Hattie B's and Tech worked, at least on me. They had us in their semi-private room in the back. Nice little setup with a giant TV.Tech's posts about the Coach's Show said to download the Hattie B's app for a $10 reward. We did that, but learned you only get that $10 reward after you spend $100. Oh well. We did, however, redeem free desserts. All you have to do is install the Hattie B's app and register for the "Coop Club." I had to enter my name, email address, phone number, and credit card info for rewards points tracking. There's a small dedicated parking lot with free parking, but it only has nine spaces (including one handicap spot). Unsurprisingly, it was full when I drove by. My friend and I both parked close to the restaurant on 10th St NW. Street parking is enforced Monday-Saturday, 7am-10pm; Sunday and official city holidays are exempt. You can pay with your phone or at the kiosk. I used my phone. I chose 3 hours and it cost $6.35 total = $6.00 parking + $0.35 convenience fee. Parking was by Parking.com (aka SP+ Parking and Passport Parking). There were plenty of empty spaces on the street, so we had no problem finding a spot. On my way in, I noticed a few cars temporarily parked on the street to pick up to-go orders. Additional parking is available in the deck across the street, attached to the Osprey apartment complex. Here's what we had:* The Sandwich (Fried), mild ($12.00), with side (comes with one) of Pimento Mac & Cheese, and Nashville Comeback sauce* Small Dark, medium ($10.00) with sides (comes with two) of Crinkle-Cut Fries and Black Eyed Pea Salad, and Honey Mustard* Wings, mild ($13.00) with sides (comes with two) of Creamy Cole Slaw and Southern Greens, and Ranch Sauce* Banana Pudding ($4.50)* Peach Cobbler ($4.50)* Fountain drinks ($3.00 each)For their chicken, Hattie B's offers no spice - akin to regular Southern fried chicken - and then five spice levels. I went with mild this time because I was eating in front of Coach Stoudamire and with other Tech staff and administrators, while a show was being recorded and broadcast. If you like spicy food, I recommend medium or hot. Coach Stoudamire had a basket of tenders and all four dipping sauces - Ranch, Honey Mustard, Blue Cheese, and Nashville Comeback. The latter is made with mayonnaise, honey, and a "signature" spice blend. It's similar to Zaxby's Zax Sauce. On the show before the Coach's Show, 680 The Fan host Chris Mooneyham mentioned the sweet tea at least two times, so if you're into that, get you some. Same price as the fountain drinks: $3 each, self-serve unlimited. The fountain drinks were basic Coke products (two machines).Everything was good, including the sides and desserts. When it comes to the chicken, it's really what you're into. For example, my wife isn't as big on Hattie B's chicken sandwich like I am. It comes with slaw and Comeback sauce and a couple pickles are toothpicked on top. I find Hattie B's chicken sandwich to be more filling than Chick-fil-A and Popeyes' chicken sandwiches, and I really like the slaw with it. The wings are "jumbo" whole wings, each with a wingette (flat) and drumette, and three come per basket. The dark meat chicken here is also a very good choice. You can't go wrong with it. As far as the sides and desserts, they're all equally delicious to me with no real standout. The collards do have some heat to them.Service was great. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly, polite, and attentive.

I can handle spice pretty well and usually get things at the spiciest level but they don't mess around here. I literally teared up trying the shut the cluck up level of spice. Fried Chicken Sandwich (medium) - solid chicken sandwich! The medium heat level wasn't actually that spicy so maybe I would order it one level higher next time. The fries surprisingly were spicer than my chicken sandwich.Large Dark Plate (damn hot) - big spice jump from medium. It was spicy to the point it was bitter. I think I should've ordered hot haha. The chicken was very juicy and tender on the inside.Jumbo Wing (shut the cluck up) - ordered the spiciest level just to try. OMG it was soooo spicy. It was bitter and it stung my lips. The spice lingered around for 20 mins and I had to drink a lot of ice water and scarf down my Mac & cheese.

I've heard a lot about this place for a while so I ended up checking it out today. The food was delicious. They have a super fast service and I got my food in 5-7 minutes. It was a chill n fun vibe. I ordered their hot chicken sandwich with potato salad and dirty bird fries. We were 2 of us and the food was good quantity. Our bill was approx $26.

Hattie B's is such a great fried chicken restaurant! The portions are big for a great price, and the food comes out fresh and hot. The service is very fast, and the place is very clean. I don't remember what spice level I had, but I think it was medium. I do wish I had tried the hot spice level for an extra kick. The meal came with two sides: pimento mac and cheese (very runny but nice flavor) and crinkle fries (good seasoning but not crispy). I would definitely recommend it, and there is free parking.

I stopped here after getting my hair done at Scissors & Scotch. I really enjoyed the Chicken Sandwich with a Medium heat. They put Cole Slaw, Pickles and their "Comeback Sauce" which is similar to Zax or Cane Sauce. The sandwich was very good and juicy. I asked for the Comeback sauce on the side as I don't like crazy messy sandwiches and controlling how much condements go on my sandwiches. No issues asking for this. I'd give the Sandwich a good 4.5/5. A little off for being messy due to the additional slaw and comeback sauce. I then wanted to try the other heats so I got the tenders in Medium and Hot. They were not unbearably hot for me, so I might try the next levels above. These tenders were super juicy. They were so tasty and juicy I have to say I enjoyed these better than Zaxby's and Canes as far as Tenders go. Getting "Souther" that has no heat is likely to be just as good or better than Canes hands down since Canes only exists to be a vessel for their sauce. I'd give the tenders a solid 5/5For my side, I ended with the Pimento Mac & Cheese which was creamy and tasty. Didn't seem frozen and baked after, but the noodles could have been a little more aldente, as they were a little overcooked. I'd give this a 3.5/5. If you're visiting here, there is limited parking. You can park across the street for free up to 15 minutes for picking up. Otherwise, 2 hours in the parking deck will cost $6 as of 4/20/2024.Overall, I enjoyed the meal a lot, i think I will come back if I'm craving tenders again or their sandwich. It's one of those places that I'm surprised how good it is due to the hype surrounding it and actually coming out satisfied.

I really enjoyed my experience at Hattie B's Hot Chicken. Not only was the food filling, delicious, and reasonably priced but the customer service was truly excellent. I underestimated the heat of the chicken and ordered the Damn Hot flavor in tenders and a wing. After one bite, I immediately regretted it. Though the flavor was good the heat was too much for me to handle. The staff was kind enough to give me a milder flavor which I thoroughly enjoyed. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for some good chicken but be warned that the heat is no joke and this is coming from someone who LOVES spicy food

Hattie B's was the first Southern food spot I tried upon moving to Atlanta, and it did not disappoint! We had the loaded fries and chicken tenders, a side of cheese grits, cole slaw, and banana pudding. Have to say, it's the best meal I had since arriving here. The chicken is seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the sides were great accompaniments. Banana pudding wasn't the best I've ever had, a little more sweet than creamy, but it was a good end to the meal. The portions are very generous, keep in mind you can easily share (but who would want to?)Service was excellent and very entertaining, I feel like the staff is trained well and really believe in the quality of their food. Inside is quaint and clean, it's a cozy vibe and does make you feel like you could stay a while. Would definitely make a trip out here just to eat!
