"I don't usually eat Texas barbecue but when in Texas I have to and let me tell you Black's Barbecue did not disappoint!We got the fatty beef brisket, jalapeno-cheese sausage and pork spare ribs to share. Everything was soo tender, juicy and just so good! For sides we got the potato salad, mac and cheese and cream corn. The sides went perfectly with the meat. I also love how you can grab your own onions, pickles and bread because I'm an onion girlie and need a whole lot haha. The workers were very welcoming and friendly and it's a big place with a nice and chill vibe. I know there's many barbecue places here in Texas but I think Black's Barbeque is definitely worth a try!"

"Came here as a result of seeing it on an episode of "The Day Tripper". Can only speak for the (to go) small pies since I didn't eat there.So far the strawberry rhubarb and Dutch apple were fantastic... heated at 350 degrees for 20+ minutes. Looking forward to trying the peach and cherry. UPDATE: The peach and cherry were excellent. I think my order of enjoyment was: strawberry rhubarb, cherry, apple, peach. Reasonable prices. Liked the ability to buy multiple small pies at $6 a piece instead of one big pie at $26. UPDATE: Upon arriving back to Dallas, I tried the strawberry rhubarb pie from USA TODAY's #5 Pie Shop in America (Grapevine, Texas). Texas Pie Company's crust is better but the #5's strawberry rhubarb filling was slightly better with slightly more sweet / tangy taste. If prices were similar, #5 spot would have just squeaked over as "the best" of the two but since their small pies are $17 and regular pies $45, Texas Pie Company has the edge. If only they were closer!The service was just "eh", probably judged a bit more harshly after seeing the engaging owner (Julie) on Daytripper who was no where to be found on my visit. Just folks (efficiently) going thru the motions. Nothing special. Great facade on the building exterior. Good addition to the city of Kyle."

There was no meat we didn't try and they all were excellent. My daughter thought the Turkey would be dry but, nope...#delicious. If you're ever in San Marcos or if you have friends visiting who want to experience excellent Texas BBQ, I highly recommend checking out San Marcos BBQ. You won't be disappointed! We never are."

Despite the somewhat warm room temperature on a summer night, this place seems like a fun hang out place for the locals, especially with a bar that serves frozen margaritas. We just came here to try the food and hang out with some new friends.Food is ordered up front and then brought out to you. Drinks, salsa, and condiments are all self serve. I ordered the "Huge" seafood burrito for a moderate price of about $15 (July 2023). The burrito was a decent size, but was mostly filled with rice with 2 (maybe 3) pieces of shrimp and some fish. It was good, but I'll try something else if I ever come back.The complimentary chips were a bit stale, but it's complimentary.The service was disappointing, even after tipping a good amount. When asking for a to-go container, the person behind the counter was already in a sour mood. She unwillingly handed us one container. When we asked for a second, it came with an unpleasant attitude. I preferred if they had the to-go containers as self-serve to avoid the interaction.The salsa station offers jalapeños, red salsa, and pickled carrots. Love it. With that said, I question if any excess drippings fell back into the serving bowl from anyone's fingers because accidents happen when filling small plastic cups with large ladles. Is it still worth it? Worth it!Overall, I wouldn't choose this as my first choice of Tex-mex, especially because there are so many other options just miles down (Gringos, Lupe, El Tiempo [though expensive], and those smaller mom and pop shops). I truly wish I could love this place because it a local thing, but I'm not a fan of the service, atmosphere, or food. Maybe next visit would be better."

First off, walking around the corner inside the building they were making their own waffle cones and it smelled amazing! We got a couple of different flavors and they were great. Salted Caramel with Pecan Praline 7/10 - it was a two scoop on the waffle cone. Both flavors were very good and the waffle cone was fantastic!Banana Pudding 8/10 - this one was interesting as you could taste both the banana and the Nilla Wafer. Not too overpowering, but was just good. You could tell from all the ice creams they were probably homemade and organic.Waffle Cones 9/10 - homemade and legit!Atmosphere 8/10 - nothing fancy, but has the feel of a retro old school ice cream shop. Our server Isaac was on point and very polite. Always explaining menu items and answering any questions we had. We gave him a hard time with some "roasting" but he was a great sport!! Drinks were always refilled, always asking if we needed anything. He never gave us the impression that he didn't care. He mentioned he was once a busboy there and now he's a server therefore he knew what was expected of him. The food is always decent here but the service stole the show!! My younger son would always get the baked potato with chopped brisket but he ordered the ox tails a few months ago and now that's his favorite. Service is always prompt and friendly. I've only eaten there once and the restaurant was clean with plenty of seating. I always go through the drive thru. So glad it's close to home, the food is still hot when I get home."

They were set up and ready to serve on time and that is a huge plus in our neighborhood. We ordered the Crawfish Etoufee, Oxtails, Peach Cobbler and Banana Pudding. The portion sizes were enough for me to have left overs. I loved the creation of the Peach Cobbler wrapped with a waffle cone. It was tasty. I did order online so that helped a lot. We ordered a 4 pack box that included chocolate chip, chocolate cupcake, triple berry cobbler and the classic pink sugar. All flavors were warm except for the classic pink sugar which was surprisingly cold and my least liked flavor but my kiddo's favorite which worked out well for my husband and I. We ranked triple berry cobbler as the best, followed by chocolate chip, chocolate cupcake and classic pink sugar. The location is right next to Tia's tacos. It's logo is easy to miss so when you see Tia's, you know you're in the right spot.They change their flavors every week so I'm going to have to workout harder before the new flavors come out."
