"Meh...just an average experience. I was quickly greeted and seated. The wait staff was initially quick and then seemed to just disappear. I ordered the Caribbean salad with shrimp. The taste was great but some of the lettuce was past the point of tired. It looks like they mixed a bit of fresh green with some that were old. While you hope that there is some consistency at locations, it just doesn't happen. There are not a lot of choices in the area so I'm guessing I'll probably return."
"Every time I come I enjoy myself here! The entire wait staff is so friendly and kind, always ready to accommodate and make conversation. The burgers are great as well! I love the mushroom swiss burger and banana pudding :)"

"Beautiful atmosphere for brunch or a date night. Delicious food but a bit cold for the price. 22 dollars for lukewarm chilaquiles is a bit much. Service was 3.5 out of 5, very friendly but took a while to get the check. The mixologist was nice and it was a new experience for a cotton candy mimosa. I definitely would come back but order something extra hot."
"This is a pretty chill bar in downtown Goliad. I love the urban cowboy décor and more importantly their selection of local beers especially the Goliad Brewery options. There are big screen TVs if you want to catch a game but no food options. You are encouraged to order in or bring in food. Our bartender was very knowledgeable and even turned me on to a new brew pub in ATX. Yea another new brew pub opened in the area, cripes... This is a really cool bar and if you in the area you should definitely stop by.. One nit, darn their bar stools are uncomfortable. But after my 3rd beer I didn't seem to notice it as much.. Cheers!"
"This is a good homestyle cooking spot in a tiny Texas hamlet. The decor is is typical for a small town. The staff was attentive, polite, and efficient. The food was tasty. I had the 1/2 portion of CFS. My wife had a burger. Both were delicious. I doubt I'll ever end-up in this area again, but if I do, I will return to eat here."
"Had a great night here! We had a crawfish boil- the crawfish was great, and the fixings were so good! I've coke beer, great service- thank you Brewster for a great night!"
"Still really new but they're doing everything they can to build it up to an amazing place. Burger bun was dense and heavy which made it chewy. Other than that, it was pretty good. Plenty of TVs."
"If anyone really wants to know where the best burger in Rockport is, look no further than this little unexpected jewel! No frills, 2 pool tables in the middle and wine served in a plastic cup. A salty Lass named Karen will say don't call to ask if your dog can come.... the answer will be NO. The JC Burger with Pepperjack cheese & jalapeños was the ! A fantastic selection of ."
"We were on vacation in Cat Springs, and wanted somewhere good to eat, and decided to drive the 25 min to get there. We ordered ahi nachos that were amazing, pizza was mediocre, the chicken wings snd coconut shrimp were also fantastic! We also ordered dessert that was great. We had the key lime pie, chocolate cake, and funnel cake. All 3 were delicious"
"Let me say we went on a Friday around 7pm. I expected the place to be hopping and it wasn't really busy except at the bar area. We ordered a couple drinks and they were ok. Not amazing but not terrible. I found the salas to lack flavor. We ordered the chili con queso. It was ok. Not bad. It was melted cheese. Then we ordered the mini tacos and they came with very bland rice and beans that were ok. The tacos were ok. Overall, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing. I expected a place called Casa Tequila to have a more extensive tequila selection."
"On our way to Harlingen and needed a place to aStop. So glad we did. Service was great. Good was prepared and brought out hot. Margarita was really good. This will be our stopping point from now on."
"Move over dive bars. This is your competition. I love this place! Oh you need some toiletries? Maybe some farm fresh eggs? Wait, maybe you need a cheeseburger. No, I ate a pork barbecue sammy for $3.25 and had a Shiner for $2.50 but if you want a Naty Light you can have that for $1.75. If you need a stem in your life though, they got a few wines here too.We drove past it the first time but we learned about this place from the local law. A friend of mine got into trouble around town and somehow befriended the local enforcement and was told that this place is where you get your barbecue and the coldest beer. I don't really drink beer. Nor am I a huge fan of barbecue. But I had both here. The pork sammy I had for lunch was awesome. I'm not sure if it is a local thing but it wasn't dripping in sauce. However, it still maintained a nice vinegary not too sweet flavor. I had mine all the way... pickles.. onions... you know... load her down. Miss Taffy was also very kind to us making sure she tended to us city slickers. I had a great time talking to her and she really made me feel welcome. I'm sure that this is the place to be in the evening and weekends. I'm down."

I stopped in here for a late night dinner (at 9pm) after being at the beach and craved fried shrimp. Their fried shrimp basket came with 8 fried shrimp (the menu said 9), and a good portion of fries. The shrimp basket was only about $10.I ordered a Dr. Pepper which came in a can with a cup of ice, and the Dr. Pepper was $1. All in all, the meal was about $11, which was what I was looking for! Fried Shrimp and inexpensive!I would only deduct points for the menu saying 9 fried shrimp, but only receiving 8. But everything was tasty and good. I would definitely recommend.

Came here for a business dinner and had a great experience. The place was hopping on a Wednesday night with a DJ in the booth but that didn't stop the staff as they were very friendly, quick, and attentive. Must check out the video walls to the bathrooms and don't pass on the Lobster Mac! Overall, a fun night - check them out!

What a neat find! Very contemporary clean lines meets historic old Texas town country aesthetic. Pretty dark wood bar backs up to an exposed brick wall, complete with deer head, only the head and antlers are carved from a single piece of wood. Nice draft selection, including a Goliad brewery ale. They also have a good selection of bottles, a nice wine list, and a fantastic wine-based screwdriver. The owner's father was tending bar and he was delightful. We will definitely go back to this out of the ordinary bar.

STOP HERE ASAP!!!Every time I thought I would get to go here - it didn't work out. Finally got to get in and try this place. If you are headed south - skip everything in Port Lavaca. If you are headed north, ignore the hunger pain until you get here. You won't be sorry. We ordered loaded fries, and the Hamburger Steak and chicken. Fried chicken with masked potatoes, salad, and Texas toast. All delicious. Fries are thin and crispy to hold the cheese and bacon. Great Hamburger Steak and brown gravy. Great cream gravy and potatoes. Good sized portions Bring your appetite. Seriously y'all need to stop here and check out the food. And they have a bat where you can catch sports on the tv. The decor is original and really inviting. Clean and just what is perfect anytime. Five stars for me is reserved for perfect experiences. My only complaint was the waitress. Clearly, she must have been working all day because she pulled her order pad from her pocket and slapped it down on the table saying "what can I get you?" Service was okay. We were provided with acceptable service - that's all I can say.

We came to Rockport on vacation and decided to try Pop's after a recommendation from our realtor. She and her husband raved about Pop's burgers and who doesn't love a good burger? I had the mushroom Swiss burger with fries and my husband had the pepper Jack jalapeño burger with added bacon. Both were cooked perfectly and were delicious!! The service was great, our waitress was a sweetheart and the atmosphere was nice. Lots of Astros decor and being Astros fans how could we not feel at home? Pop's will definitely be a stop each time we are in the area.

"It would appear that all of my belly aching (pun fully intended) on Yelp about the lack of legitimate "Tex-Mex" restaurants in Corpus has somehow translated into prayers, thus delivering La Tequila Jalisco to town. At least that's the story in my head, and I choose to believe it.Hyperbole aside, this place is the real deal. I feel qualified in making this assessment as I believe I have expert first-hand experience on evaluating Tex-Mex based on merit. If you want to just take my word on it, just peruse my reviews.La Tequila is new to town. When it first opened, I thought we were getting another high-end taqueria. While you could arguably say it fits that bill as well, my assessment is that it is Tex-Mex.I have been here several times recently. I have thoroughly enjoyed every experience, from food to service quality. You can tell they are really trying, which is why I will continue to support them as long as they keep it up."
"Not sure why I haven't reviewed this place before, it's our go-to when we are in Lake Jackson. Large selection of beers with frequent rotations, always something good! There are a lot of taps on the wall, but I don't think there are quite that many beers available. No matter, we always find something we like. Salads are large, fresh and have a nice variety of fixings. The wings are amazing, burgers are big and juicy and the flat breads are awesome. Have heard great things about the steaks and German foods, as well. We are kind of creatures of habit and stick to our basic selections. The waitstaff and bartenders are awesome, friendly and take great care of the guests. Our favorite place in town."
"Update: Decided to upgrade my review from 4 star to 5 stars. I caught myself salivating a river running out my mouth as I salivated on the memories of the plate I had at this new restaurant. This place is grossly underrated and deserves a way hire rating. I highly recommend checking this place out. Old review: Came in during the peak of dinner on a Thursday evening and there was plenty of open tables. If this review was based on the beans alone, this review would be a perfect 5 star! Portion size was hefty and service was decent. All around a good TexMex restaurant. Highly recommend checking out this new restaurant."
"Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. I only pick up food so I have no opinion about the ambiance. If you like a small, friendly bar setting with food, this might be your place."
"Great service with a smile! Delicious drinks & good food! Try the frozen cranberry drinks & pina coladas! Yum! We had the chicken tenders with fries & the fish tacos. Both were great!"
"Pizza was excellent- great service. Bartender was super nice and local brews were yummy!!"
"Must try the wings, shrimp egg roll, curry rice with pineapple, and the panacotta. Great atmosphere! They were able to accommodate a party of 30+ people."
"Followed their Cadillac on the freeway headed to Portland from Corpus Christi - sounded good. Texas pasta was delicious - ribeye was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The pasta had portobello mushrooms sliced and grilled with Gorgonzola - reminded me of a really rich Marsala sauce. We'll be back."
"Ordered the chopped steak with a salad for $12.99 as a lunch special. The staff seemed not very friendly or happy to be at work. The salad bar was pushed against a wall making it hard to reach items at the back. The salad bar had a good variety and I like that they had pineapple as an option.Cool rustic cowboy decor inside.Metal utensils, ceramic plates and paper napkins.Chopped steak had brown gravy and grilled onions and mushrooms on too and was quite good. Portion size was good.I would come back again"
"Thank you for a great lunch!I grew up up in San Antonio and have eaten at the restaurant before when visiting old friends. This time i brought an out-of-town friend with me and thank you for a great afternoon! We came during the week on a cool drizzly day, shopped a bit in Gruene, then settled in for lunch. We got a great table overlooking the river. Everyone was so nice. the ambiance is so homey. Our waiter was so friendly and shared some great stories with us.Since we have light appetites, we thought sharing an appetiser and a couple of sides would be about right. Holy moly! We could only eat half the pasta salad and bean sides. Both were delicious, well seasoned, and satifying, but when paired with the sausage appetiser... we were out matched. "Falls City, Texas Polish Wedding Sausage with Gristmill BBQ sauce." It must have been nearly 3 pounds of sliced sausage with onions and sauce and something else... i was overwhelmed. The sausage is crazy good and reminds me that the settlers in this part of Texas came from sausage-making traditions in Europe. I no longer live in Texas and miss its sausages!!Plan to spend a bit of time here soaking up the chill atmosphere."
"Ok.. well I thought the food would be better, I went with a burger and fries. Service was good. Food was satisfactory. Small area where you can dine in.. really pricey 18+ dollars for a coke and burger hand full of fries.. oh yeah and a service charge for using my debt card! Of course you can try it out .. just my experience! Thx"
"Our Airbnb was close so we walked over for some drinks. Dark, moody interior that's perfect for couples or open patio for large groups. Order at the bar where Linda will serve your beer or cocktail with a smile. You can sit down at either end for more intimate seating in leather couches/chairs or sit outside with a large group. The cocktails were great and service friendly. Check it out if you're in downtown Corpus Christi!"
"Absolutely delightful! Traveling thru town and stopped for lunch. The staff we all very friendly and our waiter, Ethan, was super nice. We enjoyed sitting outside and had a yummalicious lunch! My husband had the meatloaf (and wiped his plate clean ) and I had the Fried Green Tomato BLT. Highly recommend and we will be back!"
"Ordered drinks and dinner. We ordered the blackened catfish and the Steak and Shrimp combo. Catfish came out incorrectly prepared the first time, but was sent back and corrected. The staff was friendly and the owners beautiful dog was guarding the bar area. This is a beach bar surrounded by a camp ground and sand. It was cold the night we were here so I wasn't able to get any scenic views. Asked the bartender for some originality of a signature shot, only to be shot down. Owner was very observant that I didn't finish my steak and offered to fix any issues. While it wasn't the best steak I have had, there were no problems, just a leftover treat for our dogs at home."
"Just passing through from Round Top and saw that this place has some good reviews. I find it to be a charming little restaurant! We loved the seating area by the big bay windows. Our server, Darlene was amazing! She offered up some great food options and the Chef owned up to all that hype on how amazing the food was!!Everything was delicious and full of flavor!! And our experience was enjoyable. On a side note: The bartender had a bit of an attitude...my advice not everyone is gonna like how you make your craft cocktails. Take the constructive criticism and be helpful and just make it how the customer likes it. Especially since we weren't rude and were polite about it."
"Came here on several recommendations from a few of my coworkers. My daughter and I took a day trip to Castroville and I was asking my coworkers where a good place to eat. They all said drive down a little more ways to Hondo and eat at Hermann Sons. I'm so glad I listened. Friendly servers, food was delicious. I got the pepper steak with cheese (medium heat)and onion rings. The medium heat was perfect. My daughter got the hamburger and fries, which she enjoyed. The place seems steady with customers too. We got here around 1 and had a small wait. Looking forward to coming back and trying something else along with dessert."
"I had a great lunch here! Ordered the Beetlejuice drink for the mezcal and was not disappointed. The beer battered fish tacos were tasty, but so puffy they barely fit in the tortilla (not always a bad thing) but I'd try ordering them grilled instead next time. Service was also great and we were seated right away on a Saturday afternoon."
"Great place for breakfast. The staff was super. Food was made to order. Got the BBQ Plate, had meat, potato, beans and I had scrambled eggs added. Awesome plate. Left with a full stomach. Great place."
"The chairs are so comfortable. The service wasn't as good and the popcorn wasn't really movie . So, I'm not sure about food. I didn't care for the popcorn. Sorry! I like buttery movie popcorn. We did love the ambiance and the cleanliness."
"I am out of town with family for the weekend visiting Rockport. At first we were planning to go to another restaurant but noticed Paradise Key Dockside Bar & Grill was right across the way.Walking in the restaurant it was nice and bright since there are nice views of Aransas Bay. There is outdoor seating available.I decided to order the grilled platter which came with mahi mahi, grilled shrimps, crab cake and two sides, I chose the green beans and mac & cheese. The food is solid. I liked the mahi mahi because it is a "meaty" fish if you get what I mean. I did have an option to get blackened shrimp and that was a nice pick too. The crab cake was flavorful. The platter comes with one but it was enough. The mac & cheese did have some breadcrumbs to give it a nice crunchy texture. But one thing that made it a great experience was our server Salina.Salina was very friendly, respectful and welcoming. Very attentive and always checking on us. I was going to ideally give my experience 4.5/5 due to the random fly moving around but Salina's service made jt not too bad. She was soft spoken but provided great customer service throughout. I would like to be back with family. But it is not often we visit Rockport but the experience was pleasant. Besides the fly but it was a minimal inconvenience. You cannot miss the restaurant since it is a nice vibrating yellow color. But thank you again Salina for your work!"
"I'm a Chili's fan. There, I said it. Even living in Texas, I have a sore spot for Chili's because of that molten lava cake! I know I can get authentic TexMex... but that cake! This particular location is not amazing... but it's conveniently off of Grand Parkway and near to Target and HEB. The menu is what it is, but what's notable here is the service. This location has only been open for a few months, so the service is still pretty slow. Keep that in mind if you have small children, or if you're in a rush. However, if you're looking for a decent night out or lunch with friends and have time to spare, you should be just fine. I had the 6 oz steak and avocado from the Guiltless Menu and ADDED ON the street corn for $1. So it doesn't come with the meal- as shown in the photo. For me, I was full enough and didn't feel overstuffed. The steak is super small when it comes out... you can barely see it under the avocado. So don't expect a Flintstone size piece of meat!"
"I was quite skeptical about this little hole in the wall as I pulled up And especially when I walked in and saw only two servers on a Saturday afternoon for lunchtime. I walked out of there so surprised.....the food was actually super homemade was not Tex-Mex and quite well served for the price of lunch specials my Monday through Saturday 11:30 AM to 4 PM for 7.99!!! I got the flautas lunch special it was certainly a hefty bed of lettuce with sour cream rice and beans and a side little bowl of chicken soup. All day margaritas for 3.00 and the free tostadas and fresh queso was a bonus! I will definitely return with my family as long as the food continues to meet our expectations and is well served all for the price. Well done Hacienda San Miguelito!!"
"Went with a group of friends that wanted to do a little country dancing. Kicks is located in Angleton, TX which is approximately 50 miles south of Houston. You must be 21 years old to enter. There was a wide range of ages on a Friday night when we were there. My group had a range of 49-55 years old and we fit in comfortably. There were a few older but mostly younger than us. However, we did not feel out of place given the age mix.Kicks does have a strict dress code. It seems to be enforced because I did not see anyone dressed in a way that broke the dress code. Make sure you read their website on the dress code. The dress code includes both women and men. It also includes a ban on pocket knives of all kinds. There is live music Thurs-Sun. The sign on the door says the doors open at 8PM and entry is not allowed after 1:30AM. The band that was there when we were there played three sets. During their breaks, the dance floor was still packed while music from current country hits were piped through the speakers. There was a good mix of couples and line dancing. The floor can get really crowded but fun was still had by all. Security seemed to be present and aware at all times. I was pleasantly surprised with the lack of heavy smoke. The smoke seemed to be much heavier in the pool table area but I did not venture to the back to see that area. The dance portion of the club seemed to be relatively smoke-free. I did not see anyone smoking in the dance area. I'm not sure if it isn't allowed or if it was just coincidence on this night. Bottom line: Kicks is a fun place to kick up your heels is you like to country dance. They had a good mix of partner and line dancing. If you like to country dance, you could have a good time here."
