"Z Counter was a nice find while visiting family. This is a small, fast-paced location but definitely worth the trip.It took us a good fifteen minutes to place our order because their menu is extensive and everything sounded so tempting. The staff could tell we were new, I guess we had a look of both lost and excited! They answered our questions without hesitation even though the place was crazy busy. We decided on the pork bahn mi, chicken pancit, the pork belly rice bowl, steamed buns with pork belly & the counter donuts. All pork entrees were tender and smothered in a sticky marinade. The rice and noodles were cooked to perfection. The bahn mi bread had the perfectly baked crunch. The steamed buns were airy and generously filled. The counter donuts often visit me in my dreams lol. Also, everything that was reheated the following day was still quite enjoyable!"

"This place was cool to try. I love when the staff is patient with new customers. The employee that helped us took his time with explaining the menu and recommended we try the bowls. We went with his recommendation and we loved the food. I deducted a star because when I used their restroom the soap smelled like dish soap. And maybe that's not a big deal to anyone else, but it is to me. Casual vibe in the restaurant."
"Wow! This bistro has got it going on! I wasn't sure about our first time to visit because we were seated at the bar which is not normally where I like to be but it turned out to be the best place to experience all this place has to offer. Joseph was the bartender and upon hearing we were first time visitors and not knowledgeable about Asian food, he offered his years of experience in recommending side dishes and drinks after hearing what we like. We started with a deep fried roll that had cream cheese, chicken, and jalapeño and topped with shredded crab and a spicy mayo. They served the roll with two dipping sauces: an eel sauce and a spicy mayo. So creamy and flavorful with an array of flavors that melded so well. My husband had Mongolian beef with scallions, onions, and a garlic sauce and served with fried rice. The beef was so tender and juicy and none of that weird gristle like you find in cheap Chinese restaurants. I had teriyaki chicken and vegetables. The chicken was thin sliced white meat and there were so many different vegetables (snow peas, broccoli, mushrooms, onions, squash, carrots, baby corn, etc). It was also served with fried rice. I had a drink made with vodka, watermelon liqueur, and some other yummy ingredients. It tasted just like a watermelon skittle The servings were huge and we'll have leftovers for at least two more meals. Joseph was a spectacular bartender and served with all the right recommendations!"
"Everything I've ordered from here has been absolutely delicious! The flavor profiles of these dishes are very unique and not like anything I've tasted but work so well together. From savory to sweet they do it so well. I'd highly recommend trying out this local spot, you won't regret it. Not pictured recommendations: 3 headed dragon burger, Thai ginger pulled pork sandwich, poblano soup. Can't wait to come back and try more!"
"Wife ordered sweet and sour chicken, I ordered Teriyaki steak and we both thought our dishes were OK. Not great, certainly not bad. For her, the smaller pieces of chicken were very hard to bite through the fried batter and for me, the smaller pieces of beef became quite chewy though for both, the larger pieces were tender and juicy.Being a Saturday, it wasn't busy and service was prompt and very courteous. Prices a bit on the high side. Portions could be smaller and prices lower. Just my opinion on that. We've tried it. It was OK. 'Nuff said."
"We stopped into Roaming Ronin for a last minute sushi date night and we are so glad we did.Walking in, it's a small and intimate type of spot, with majority of spots being at the sushi bar. The chef, Spaghetti Eddie, was super friendly and engaging. We love the name and idea behind it, as "Roaming Ronin" refers to a samurai with no master. It's a great way to describe this food and Eddie's creativity with the dishes.Hands down, the best spicy tuna roll I've ever had. It is non-traditional, and oh-so-good. The Suicide Edamame was delicious and was a fun take on the standard appetizer.I love the art adorning the walls, specifically the panda. Such a well thought out place.I would recommend perhaps a more robust picture menu to go along with the videos. My husband and I kept seeing additional things we wanted to try and we will DEFINITELY be back!"
"I enjoyed a filling, tasty pork katsu bento box here on a Friday evening. For around $16, the bento box came with crispy pork katsu, curry, rice, potato salad, shrimp tempura, fried veggies, and California rolls. There was a generous amount of crunchy, breaded pork katsu, which was deliciously paired with curry and rice. The California rolls were a hit also, with plenty of imitation crab meat. The restaurant itself is located in a strip mall in Sugarland with plenty of parking, and the restaurant itself looks newly renovated. Service was prompt despite a busy evening. Overall, I would recommend this place looking for a tasty meal in the area."

To be honest I never eat here, but my husband is obsessed. We used to live in Corpus and he would go all the time for their sloppy cakes and pork belly pancit. Now any time we go back to Corpus, it's a requirement that he gets his Z Counter. When you walk in there are a few tables and a wall full of pictures for their menu. I love that you can see what the items look like instead of just looking at the written menu hanging above the register. You order at the front and they give you your cup and a number before you go sit at a table. Service is pretty average for a sit down place since everything is made fresh to order. Don't expect to just walk in and get your food immediately. This place takes their time to get you freshly made food each time.

This review is for the bar primarily. The food was decent. Typical hibachi. But the drinks at the bar.....now that I will go back for time and time again. And for the non-drinkers, the virgin drinks are as good!

Hidden hole in the wall with some amazing food options from healthy to about as bad as you want to get. Great summertime salads, homemade personal pizza with several options, all the way to loaded fries. I usually get one of the salads and it's loaded with chef inspired options on top of mixed greens or spinach. A true hidden gem.

"If you are curious about Yoshi, then you must stop by. It's definitely a hidden gem in Corpus. It's well-known to the locals as having some of the best sushi in town and i must say, I agree. This wasn't my first trip here so I'll try to include my past experiences. The staff has always been very friendly and generous, even during Covid times. They provide sanitizer when you enter, take your temperature, and are limited capacity; which is comforting with recent government changes. I've had their chicken teriyaki, yakisoba noddles and chicken, various rolls, fried and stemmed rice and it's all been very fresh and savory. There are times you go eater other restaurants and the meat is chewy or tastes old, but not here. It's always been very tender and fresh. It's seasoned very well. Even the veggies are a must try because they are well cooked and makes you wanting more. Lol! All their rolls are exceptional, from raw to cooked, I can't complain. Even when co-workers order a roll from here they know they are so delicious, they always share. The offer Chinese and Japanese entrees and both selections are amazing. Well you are at it, don't forget to try the their Saki, it's also a nice refresher. This place already has stellar reviews so take our word for it and check them out. Enjoy an amazing pallet experience!"
"My goodness. HOW tasty. So yummy!I was lazy and wanted seafood but didn't want to leave the house. So... door dash it was. I ordered the Super Poke: Fresh tuna, salmon, spicy tuna, crab salad, lettuce, beets, carrots, cabbage, cucumber; avocado, edamame, seaweed salad, eel sauce, spicy mayo, pickled ginger. And the Spicy Tuna Nachos: Spicy tuna, avocado, wonton nacho, eel sauce, spicy mayo, green onions. Both were incredibly flavorful. Suuuuuuper filling. Just delicious. The fish was EXTREMELY fresh and the ingredients all were placed well and mixed excellently together. I could only eat the nachos first for an early lunch... and then I ate the Poke bowl at night for dinner. The ONLY con is that the nachos were so weak I couldn't really kick up a good scoop of everything and ended up eating with a fork."
"Great service and the food was fresh and delicious!I will definitely return for more great sushi."
"Ok, so I've been here a couple of times and I'm finally able to review them. Price: Ever time I have been to the establishment I've gone for the lunch specials, so for me $9-$12 (including tip) wasn't a bad deal. Service: We always go in groups of 2-6 and they are very attentive, even when they are busy. They ask if you have questions, automatically refill our drinks, and ask if we need to-go boxes. No one has ever been rude to us. Appearance: Overall they look like a clean establishment. Lunch time is usually when a restaurant gets slammed but it's always been very tidy. Quality: The food isn't anything spectacular, but at the same time it isn't bad. Like if I had to pick between Panda Express and here, you'll like this place more. I've never had issues with my food being cold, so not sure what that's about. There was only one time that I had a beef plate and the meat was super chewy. Is this a must try? No. But like I said earlier fast food Asian or a little better quality? Well you make that choice. But there are definitely more genuine restaurants out there than Asian. So for that reason, I give them an average score of 3 stars just because it's nothing that I haven't tried elsewhere."
"I visited PokiYaki during the soft opening and so far the food and atmosphere is excellent. The K-Wings are really yummy and perfectly crispy. They have Tangy Soy and chili red flavors for the wings. The Yaki Chicken dish is delicious too, full meal with a little bit of everything. The rice and tenderness of chicken was spot on."
"Food ambience is great. Has s french vibe but they have something for every palette.."
"Well. Here it goes. The shrimp fried rice was very good. $9. Had plenty of shrimp and was about the average size portion. It tasted very good. Next I unexpectedly ordered the hibachi steak and shrimp by suggestion. The cashier was very sure I needed it. It was good, a little pricey but no harm no foul. The place is a little sparse but the folks try really hard. I will return because of the service and I appreciate the local business aspect of it. Enjoy."
"I use to love Tensai but it's definitely changed over the years. The food isn't the same, the servers aren't very attentive, overall just a very ehhh"
"Been traveling a lot lately up this way and tried Four Seasons at the suggestion of a niece who lives in Port Lavaca. It's not well marked visually. I ordered catfish and wife ordered Beef and Broccoli. I thought mine was tasty, flaky and a good value. The crinkle fries cooked perfectly. Wife did not especially like her beef. She said it lacked flavor. I tasted a piece and thought that I'd had better as well. Thought the prices were a little high. I would come back for the fish, but I wouldn't order the beef."
"They are now open Saturday! The Thai curry is amazing! Go get the fresh and home made food. Not a bunch of frozen stuff."
"Fast and friendly service. Food was good. Definitely met my expectations. I would recommend to anyone looking for decent Chinese take out."
